Hi everyone!
Our days are flying by and I can't believe we have been in Florida since May 29th!
This is a recoupe from extreme stress trip (me), so we have been taking it very easy and the rain has also forced us to take a slower pace. Im just fortunate that DH is a teacher and the boys are out of school and we have DVC and Marriott Rewards!
We had a great 12 night stay at BCV in studio 566. It has a great view (Pool, canal and parking lot) extra closet in entry hall, and spacious pie shaped patio. It was also very close to the elevator, so close, that you could hear the elevator ascend and descend all day and night. I had dreams that I was on the Tower of Terror! LOL! Ok it really wasnt that bad, and the room had so much going for it, we lived with the noise and I decided to do my DVC duty and spare a much pickier DVCer the same fate. I would take the room again in a heartbeat especially for longer stays.
I really enjoyed the patio and used it alot during our stay.
Mousekeeping was great and helpful but we again had a problem with having to call down twice (waited several hours between calls) to have a slow draining sink addressed at the beginning of our stay.
Beaches and Cream was wonderful as always and we spent alot of time at SAB and the quiet pool. The laundry was conveniently located and with all the rain and swimming, we used it more than anticipated this trip.
Our last day was Friday and we were invited to the Managers get together for guest feedback. I went while Dh and the boys slept in. They had a nice selection of fruit, coffee, juice, danish and muffins. There were managers from each department and research and they basically asked how your stay was. I had several positive comments to make regarding Mousekeeping, SAB and B&C. I also let them know about the calling twice (that has happened on each of our 3 trips at BC and BCV) and was told that their goal is to respond in 15 minutes. I dont expect that, but same day would be nice. I also commented on the pool hours and was told the pool hours would be extended to 10 pm middle of June. They pretty much closed at 8 pm while we were there.
The new marketplace is nice and they do have more DVC merchandise. I found the luggage tags, DVC cooler bag, DVC carry sack, and others. I am a walking DVC Logo!
My boys did the Albatross Pirate Cruise with Captain Ron from the Yacht Club Marina, and it was so much better than having to travel over to the GF. They really enjoyed it and Dh and I had some free time so we took the boat over to the BW Bakery and had breakfast on the BW. On our way back to the boat dock, I hear "Hi Mama" and I see all the Little Pirates heading back to their ship that was also docked at the BW! LOL!! The Pirate hats are really cute and they each received a bag full of treasures. We used our DVC discount for this.
We have only visited MGM and MK so far and we did get to see LMA! at MGM and it was pretty good but they were wrong for those aluminum benches! That show is at least 30 minutes long, and towards the end, you feel it. It is also slow loading because the stadium seats 5,000 so allow at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours total for this attraction. It is worth it, but we went to the 1 pm show, got there at 12:25 (FP return time) and checked into our 1:40 PS at SCI FI at 1:52. All was well but we cut it too close.
We are currently in Tampa on our weekend Marriott (I am in their Busin. Center on Hi Speed) stay and we check into SSR today for our last 12 nights. We had a great 2 night stay here (Marriott Westshore) and hit the beach all day y-day and were very lucky the forecast of rain all-day due to the Trop Storm was totally wrong. The storm was fast moving and by noon took most of the clouds with it so we had a perfect day at Ft. Desoto beach. We will definitely visit again, and the Westshore is convenient to the expressway, dining shopping and beaches, so the location was perfect. Service was excellent too.
Well we are off to check into SSR so I'll check back later!
PS. What is Hanname?
