Hi everyone!

Our days are flying by and I can't believe we have been in Florida since May 29th!

This is a recoupe from extreme stress trip (me), so we have been taking it very easy and the rain has also forced us to take a slower pace. Im just fortunate that DH is a teacher and the boys are out of school and we have DVC and Marriott Rewards! :goodvibes

We had a great 12 night stay at BCV in studio 566. It has a great view (Pool, canal and parking lot) extra closet in entry hall, and spacious pie shaped patio. It was also very close to the elevator, so close, that you could hear the elevator ascend and descend all day and night. I had dreams that I was on the Tower of Terror! LOL! Ok it really wasnt that bad, and the room had so much going for it, we lived with the noise and I decided to do my DVC duty and spare a much pickier DVCer the same fate. I would take the room again in a heartbeat especially for longer stays.

I really enjoyed the patio and used it alot during our stay.

Mousekeeping was great and helpful but we again had a problem with having to call down twice (waited several hours between calls) to have a slow draining sink addressed at the beginning of our stay.

Beaches and Cream was wonderful as always and we spent alot of time at SAB and the quiet pool. The laundry was conveniently located and with all the rain and swimming, we used it more than anticipated this trip.

Our last day was Friday and we were invited to the Managers get together for guest feedback. I went while Dh and the boys slept in. They had a nice selection of fruit, coffee, juice, danish and muffins. There were managers from each department and research and they basically asked how your stay was. I had several positive comments to make regarding Mousekeeping, SAB and B&C. I also let them know about the calling twice (that has happened on each of our 3 trips at BC and BCV) and was told that their goal is to respond in 15 minutes. I dont expect that, but same day would be nice. I also commented on the pool hours and was told the pool hours would be extended to 10 pm middle of June. They pretty much closed at 8 pm while we were there.

The new marketplace is nice and they do have more DVC merchandise. I found the luggage tags, DVC cooler bag, DVC carry sack, and others. I am a walking DVC Logo!

My boys did the Albatross Pirate Cruise with Captain Ron from the Yacht Club Marina, and it was so much better than having to travel over to the GF. They really enjoyed it and Dh and I had some free time so we took the boat over to the BW Bakery and had breakfast on the BW. On our way back to the boat dock, I hear "Hi Mama" and I see all the Little Pirates heading back to their ship that was also docked at the BW! LOL!! The Pirate hats are really cute and they each received a bag full of treasures. We used our DVC discount for this.

We have only visited MGM and MK so far and we did get to see LMA! at MGM and it was pretty good but they were wrong for those aluminum benches! That show is at least 30 minutes long, and towards the end, you feel it. It is also slow loading because the stadium seats 5,000 so allow at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours total for this attraction. It is worth it, but we went to the 1 pm show, got there at 12:25 (FP return time) and checked into our 1:40 PS at SCI FI at 1:52. All was well but we cut it too close.

We are currently in Tampa on our weekend Marriott (I am in their Busin. Center on Hi Speed) stay and we check into SSR today for our last 12 nights. We had a great 2 night stay here (Marriott Westshore) and hit the beach all day y-day and were very lucky the forecast of rain all-day due to the Trop Storm was totally wrong. The storm was fast moving and by noon took most of the clouds with it so we had a perfect day at Ft. Desoto beach. We will definitely visit again, and the Westshore is convenient to the expressway, dining shopping and beaches, so the location was perfect. Service was excellent too.

Well we are off to check into SSR so I'll check back later!

PS. What is Hanname? :teeth:

Thanks you for all the details - please post abut SSR when/if you get the chance.

I am jealous that you get to stay so long!

Best wishes -

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!! Glad you had a good time!!!

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison

What a lucky family - 26 nights, WOW :sunny:

When you get back, you will just have to catch up! Things have been very busy on the DIS ;)

I have no doubt that you will get back to read probably 60 -70 pages of Hanname, so rest your eyes while you are down there :teeth: We will hanname you when you return :grouphug:

Thank you for taking the time to share the beginning of your trip with us! Hope the sun shines bright for you all.

Wow, what a dream trip to be down there for almost 4 weeks!!! It was great that you posted how things are going so far.

I stayed in BCV #566 with my sister once. We loved everything about that room, except for the continuous elevator motor noise. I'll bet it was nice to have the extra closet since there were 4 of you. :)

Hope you have a wonderful time at SSR! Be sure to tell us all about it after you're home. :flower:

Wow, you've been gone a long time, uh?

Glad you are stressing-down! Sounds like a great time!

So do they do the pirate cruise on just Wed still from YC or have they expanded it?

I also commented on the pool hours and was told the pool hours would be extended to 10 pm middle of June. They pretty much closed at 8 pm while we were there.

I can tell you that one of the reasons that SAB has been closing at 8:00 is because they are short of lifeguards and do not have enough to staff all the shifts required to stay open later.

Glad you are having such a good time. I am jealos of your nice long stay.

Sounds like a great vacation. Thanks for posting about your stay to this point. Have a wonderful remainder of your stay! :sunny:

Hi  Sounds like your having a well deserved wonderful vacation :cloud9:, thank you for sharing, and please let us know all about SSR ! :goodvibes

We also stayed in 566 during our Christmas trip. Loved the balcony, but it was a little chilly in Dec. Got used to the elevator noise and loved having it so close. Enjoy what is left of your trip!

Lucky you! Glad you got to enjoy such a long trip.

Thanks for the trip report while you are down there.

WOW! Almost a month in Florida! Lucky you!

Sounds like you've had a great time so far! I hope your stay at SSR is just as magical!

Liferbabe, Glad you are having a great trip. I would love to spend that much time at the World. Maybe someday...... DH thought that our 4 night trip over Memorial Day, was great! (And it was, but I need more time at the world) I'll be anxious to read the full report when you return. I got so many ideas from your last trip report. My family still thinks that the pop up laundry hamper is marvelous for our trips, and I love them too. Are you preparing most of your meals in the studio, or eating out?

We stayed in the studio next door to yours at BCV(I think). Ours had an Epcot view. It was directly behind the elevators and the noise was really bad. I wish it would of had the extra space that yours did. I think ours was actually smaller than the other studios. There was absolutely no where to even put the pack-n-play. I ended up putting it in the space right behind the front door, which meant you couldn't even open the door all the way back. It was really jammed.(there was no closet in the entry). The room was not clean and never got much better during our stay, so we aren't looking forward to another BCV stay anytime soon. Oh well.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip! Erin

Oh ya, just rub it in, 12 more days, :rolleyes2 :bored: you can at least have a :mickeybar for me........ LIFERBRAT :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
now we have to wait until next year for girls only trip, good goning, burning up all your points :teeth: Enjoy your 12 days, hehe, 11 days, hehe
10 days,hehe.............

I am on my super slow speed Laptop and it's 3 am.

Just returned from a solo trip to MK for EMH evening. The crowds have definitely picked up from last week. I still got to do my favorites, so Im happy. Bus service was great to and fro.

We are finally settled in at SSR. I really do like it here. Our check in could have been better. My new mantra is listed above, CIEOCIT, This was the first time we have checked into DVC after noon and our last! We stuck around Tampa so we didnt arrive at SSR until 4pm. Nothing left but Smoking or HA. Checkin was very quick and the CM was helpful and did find a room for us but had yet to be cleared by Mousekeeping. She called and they cleared the room for occupancy so we headed over to Cong. Park studio. Well the room was cleared by MK but not Maintenance who was still in the process of replacing a malfunctioning fire alarm. So back to the front desk for another room. We ended up in the Springs in a HA lockoff studio. It was quite nice and it did have a standard tub. It also had an extra hall closet, so initially, it was quite doable. Checkin had arranged for us to only have this unit for one night and we would move the following day due to the mix up. I really hate moving, and was really ready to unpack and get settled, especially because it was pouring down rain so the day was a wash anyway, so I looked for all the good in the room and considered just keeping the unit. This room seemed to address most of the comments I have read here on the DIS about HA rooms. Yes the switches and controls were lower and the bed was higher, but there was a tub, and counter space. This was more of a HA optional room. Then I laid on the bed. This bed was harder than a slab of concrete and Im no Princess and the Pea! I tried it for a couple of hours and had the worst neck pain, that I moved over to the pull out and that is where I slept. Well after a night on the pull out, I was wide awake promptly at 7am so I took a stroll around the Springs to look at the new construction. It is all very pretty and the landscaping is beautiful I love walking around SSR, it makes you want to hold hands and stroll. No way was I doing 12 nights on that bed, and I don't care what list I ended up on. Gratefully, I didnt have to get all Cruella, as there was a message reminding us to please vacate that unit by 11am and check in with the front desk for our new room.

Our new studio was ready by 1pm, and they did put forth extra effort to get us into our unit early and it is a great studio in CP so we are very pleased.

We visited the Theme Pool earlier as it was very hot today. You can definitely see the improvements they have made since opening last year. They have added a full row of umbrellas and at least 8 more tables with umbrellas situated in front of the arcade. There are sidewalk sprays to keep the pavement cool and as we were swimming, the CM's were unpacking brand new loungers and placing them around the pool deck. There were plenty of loungers and tables to go around, and the main pool was pretty busy today. I like to see guest comments in action.

I have run out of Apple Martini, so it must be my bed time ! I will check in with more later,

Lifer

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time!
