Day TWO
We headed to MK pretty early because my dh and oldest son wanted to get haircuts on Main Street. This has become a tradition for us on every trip.
DS loves to get the green Buzz Lightyear gel and the pixie dust sprinkled in his hair.
My younger ds and I just walked around and looked at all the characters that were hanging out. I think that was a great idea and has actually helped disperse the traffic down Main St.
After the haircuts we headed over to Adventureland.
There was a very long line to meet and greet Aladdin, so we skipped that and headed down the ramp to get a fast pass for the Jungle Cruise. After that we did Pirates of the Caribbean, my one year old's favorite ride if you can believe it, and were unsuccessful at avoiding the pirate gift shop at the exit! This time ds chose the pirate telescope, which will be great to go along with his pirate hat and hook at home. LOL
After the Jungle Cruise we headed over to the Plaza Restaurant for our lunch PS. We really enjoyed the food... dh and I both had the steak sandwiches and the boys each had grilled cheese. The atmosphere is there is very relaxing and we enjoyed the surprise visit by the Mayor of Main St. USA.
Oh, and of course we couldn't pass up dessert. Ummmmm... that ice cream was delicious.
After lunch we headed back to the room for naps. We were surprised and excited to find SEVERAL towel animals all over our room.
We had a rabbit in the bathroom, an alligator on the bedroom floor, ds's buzz and woody dolls were paddling a towel canoe across his bed, and we had two lovebirds surrounded by a towel heart tied with flower leis. Oh, and younger ds had a cute little towel baby doll in his crib.
I took lots of pictures and I'll post those when we get home. It was great.
While the boys slept I caught up on the DIS board
and actually didn't mind taking some time out to relax and kick back.
After the naps we headed back to MK. We were able to do more rides, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Snow White, etc, and then had dinner at El Pirata y il Perico. Strangely enough dh and I love eating here. I think the tacos and taco salad are both really good, and it's fast and cheap.
Our one year old doesn't handle long meals very well, so our days of "fine dining" seem to be over, at least until he's older and can be good. But luckily dh and I came to WDW alone before we had children... so we've had the opportunity to eat all the wonderful food they have to offer.
Anyway, after dinner we did the child swap for Space Mountain
, hit a few more rides, and watched the fireworks from right under the castle. DS loves to spy Tinkerbell as she flies down... he gets so excited about that.
MK was open til midnight during that week, and since we gave the boys long naps in the afternoons they were able to stay up and have fun.
We loved our nightly boat rides back to the Poly. The resort is so beautiful at night.
