We were so impressed with SSR. After reading these boards, I was getting nervous. But I was correct in my thinking that some people are very, very picky.
We checked in on 12/25 around 5pm. There was no one else in the lobby and we got room 1143, first floor, facing DD right across from Fulton's Crab House. The view was wonderful. The patio was great, larger than I expected.
We got more "Welcome Homes" than I could have imagined and the CMs were all great. Right after we checked in we had a PS at Whispering Canyon and we got lost on the way over. We called the SSR desk and they stayed on the phone with us until we found our way. Now that's service!!
The room was great, just perfect for the two of us. I don't think that we'll be staying in anything but a studio anytime soon. And the trash and towel service every 4 days was not an issue either. We reuse our towels 1 time at home and did the same here. I wouldn't hesitate to "buy" more if the weather was warmer and I felt I needed more towels.
We loved Artist Pallet (S)? It's just the right size. We had breakfast there twice and each time there were 2 or 3 tables occupied. That's with 4 buildings open. There is plenty of room since everyone seems to go elsewhere to eat, most of the time.
The main pool is nice but we really liked the quiet pool near our room. The laundry with a TV and art on the walls was a treat.
I've said this before...We can't afford to go to a 5 star hotel for great service. Disney is the closest and most affordable for us. The service is always great, it's so clean and truly a happy place to be.
By the way, we did find a cheerio, one, lone cheerio, on the floor of our studio. When I did, I laughed, because it would have been the first line of some of the reports I've seen here.
We are booked at Boardwalk in May but I'm thinking that I'll really look forward to going back to SSR!
