DAY 5
December 4
Today was Magic Kingdom and our Christmas party day! We were so excited!
We slept in a bit and then caught the bus to Magic Kingdom. We went straight to Main Street Bakery for breakfast. It was packed but totally worth the wait. I had the breakfast croissant which was super yum but the one at POFQ is even better!
DD had the French Toast Loaf. She LOVED it and thought it was the best taste ever. To quote her: sugary, cinnamony and filling!
We took a walk over to the Castle and then to Fantasy Land.
I love this picture because it makes me think of a real fairy tale. Like you are a princess but lost your memory and are walking through the woods and come across this amazing sight!
Look how empty it was!! (For a little while ...)
We went on Peter Pan's flight and it was only a ten minute wait before we were flying over London. Next was It's a Small World without any wait.
Then Snow White's Scary Adventures. I'm happy to say that DD does not scream and freak out like she did when she was four!!
Next we got a Fast Pass for Winnie the Pooh and a surprise fast pass came out for Philharmagic! That was so cool.
We went to Toon Town and got on the train, riding it all the way around. There was a new conductor with the shrillest and boredest voice I have ever heard! Yowza!! Ear piercing.
Then it was time for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. We were really looking forward to this meal. Although the character interaction is so much fun at dinner, we hate the meal, because ... honestly ... I put that chef to shame with my Thanksgiving dinner!! So we thought lunch was going to be fab! WRONG! It was the worst meal of the trip for DD (you'll read about my worst meal coming up) and the second worst for me. First of all, they didn't have their Christmas decorations up other than some sad looking tree. I was surprised because it was gorgeous last year. This was the only place I noticed a difference in decorations on property.
DD was looking forward to the Salmon Club sandwich, but it wasn't on the menu anymore. We ordered the Tri-Corner sandwich. It was roast beef and swiss cheese with Liberty Slaw, horseradish cream sauce and arugula served on herbed focaccia with tavern fries. The only good thing was the horseradish cream sauce although it was scarce. This sandwich is served in any deli in the US. Boring for a Disney meal! Nothing was "bad" on it, but what an incredible disappointment!
The tavern fries were good but at that point, I think we were too disappointed to really enjoy them. However, dessert changed all opinions!
Toffee cake from heaven! It was magnificent! One of the most delicious things DD or I have ever had! It would make us both go back to LTV, just for this cake.
After lunch was the Enchanted Tiki Room. Now, I saw this with DD when she was little and felt it was a colossal waste of time. This time ... it was the same! I lost all those minutes of my life that I won't get back! BORING!
We next used Big Thunder Mountain fast passes. So much fun!
Then we went on Splash Mountain, which is always such fun. They had the water cannons off so we didn't get soaked. I still believe they've filled it up with more water than ever before.
Next was the Pin Traders Store, where DD went goofy getting pins. She wanted me to pick out some too, but I only picked one -- Marie. She's so cute although she will always be Kitteh to me!
I'm going to let DD post and put up pictures of her pins for you!
We decided to go to Main Street next and I posed with some of the Streetmosphere people who were so great and such fun. We took pictures of the decorations, really just enjoying the atmosphere of it all.
We had to shop then! Disney has adorable little clothes to dress your dolls or dogs, I suppose and DD bought Chip and Dale and Mickey hats for each of them! She's going to have to take a picture because they are just adorable! She also got two mugs to add to her collection; Year of A Million Dreams and Walt and Mickey.
We made our way over to Tomorrow Land.
DD road Space Mountain twice and I found a quiet spot to wait. I chatted with my Mom and people watched and then realized that Mater was dead!! I had to go and find a CM to call for a new one. It took them twenty minutes, but they brought me a brand new Mater!!
Our party pictures coming up next and they are fabulous!!!
