Trip of Extremes and Dreams! Tons of Pics! 11/30 -12/10 Update Highlight to the End

:lmao: :rotfl: Remind me never to root for a team that is not yours. :lmao: :rotfl:

IF you might be up for a short ride (a bit over 3 hours) this let's say...ummm...MARCH than....

Hard core Steeler fan from birth!!!!

HERE WE GO, STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!

I'm still in tears!!! I LOVE MY BLACK AND GOLD!!!

IT WAS WORTH REPEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I've been in August and you're right. If it rains (no biggie) they only last like an hour but it sends the guests away. What I noticed at Epcot was after say 4:00 or 5:00 at Future World the crowds were VERY light. Of course that was fourteen years ago :)

And that rain always cools you off if you let yourself get wet. DD and I practically dance in it! :beach:

Future World is pretty crowded on busy days -- with the additions of the thrill rides like Test Track (and Jo's family all there! :rotfl2: ) people tend to stay. One trick I like for World Showcase is to go in from the Canada side -- you walk a bit against the tide and it is less nutty with people!

When in March, Jay? :rolleyes1

That would be too cool! :woohoo:

pixiedust:

Hey! Just stopping by to say hello! :wave2: Congrats on your Steelers being in the Super Bowl!

Hi Alan! Thanks!! We are SOOOOOOOO excited!! I'm already thinking about a menu for game day!! Gotta serve Pittsburgh foods, black and gold!

Hey Heidi!!! Everyone at our house was in fits last night, cheering, yelling.... yes we are glad the Steelers won too!! :cheer2:

Hi DisneyDusted!! How great was that game??? Well ... the ending and especially when my BFF Troy made that spectacular touchdown. Much screaming and jumping around went on in my house!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

DAY 5
December 4

Today was Magic Kingdom and our Christmas party day! We were so excited!

We slept in a bit and then caught the bus to Magic Kingdom. We went straight to Main Street Bakery for breakfast. It was packed but totally worth the wait. I had the breakfast croissant which was super yum but the one at POFQ is even better!

100_4282_00.jpg

DD had the French Toast Loaf. She LOVED it and thought it was the best taste ever. To quote her: sugary, cinnamony and filling!

100_4283_00.jpg

We took a walk over to the Castle and then to Fantasy Land.

I love this picture because it makes me think of a real fairy tale. Like you are a princess but lost your memory and are walking through the woods and come across this amazing sight!

100_4285_00.jpg

100_4284_00.jpg

Look how empty it was!! (For a little while ...)

100_4344.jpg

We went on Peter Pan's flight and it was only a ten minute wait before we were flying over London. Next was It's a Small World without any wait.

100_4342.jpg

Then Snow White's Scary Adventures. I'm happy to say that DD does not scream and freak out like she did when she was four!!

100_4286_00.jpg

Next we got a Fast Pass for Winnie the Pooh and a surprise fast pass came out for Philharmagic! That was so cool.

100_4306.jpg

100_4307.jpg

We went to Toon Town and got on the train, riding it all the way around. There was a new conductor with the shrillest and boredest voice I have ever heard! Yowza!! Ear piercing.

100_4346.jpg

Then it was time for lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. We were really looking forward to this meal. Although the character interaction is so much fun at dinner, we hate the meal, because ... honestly ... I put that chef to shame with my Thanksgiving dinner!! So we thought lunch was going to be fab! WRONG! It was the worst meal of the trip for DD (you'll read about my worst meal coming up) and the second worst for me. First of all, they didn't have their Christmas decorations up other than some sad looking tree. I was surprised because it was gorgeous last year. This was the only place I noticed a difference in decorations on property.

DD was looking forward to the Salmon Club sandwich, but it wasn't on the menu anymore. We ordered the Tri-Corner sandwich. It was roast beef and swiss cheese with Liberty Slaw, horseradish cream sauce and arugula served on herbed focaccia with tavern fries. The only good thing was the horseradish cream sauce although it was scarce. This sandwich is served in any deli in the US. Boring for a Disney meal! Nothing was "bad" on it, but what an incredible disappointment!

100_4296_00.jpg

100_4297_00.jpg

The tavern fries were good but at that point, I think we were too disappointed to really enjoy them. However, dessert changed all opinions!

100_4298_00.jpg

Toffee cake from heaven! It was magnificent! One of the most delicious things DD or I have ever had! It would make us both go back to LTV, just for this cake.

After lunch was the Enchanted Tiki Room. Now, I saw this with DD when she was little and felt it was a colossal waste of time. This time ... it was the same! I lost all those minutes of my life that I won't get back! BORING!

100_4308.jpg

100_4370.jpg

We next used Big Thunder Mountain fast passes. So much fun!

100_4351.jpg

Then we went on Splash Mountain, which is always such fun. They had the water cannons off so we didn't get soaked. I still believe they've filled it up with more water than ever before.

Next was the Pin Traders Store, where DD went goofy getting pins. She wanted me to pick out some too, but I only picked one -- Marie. She's so cute although she will always be Kitteh to me!

I'm going to let DD post and put up pictures of her pins for you!

We decided to go to Main Street next and I posed with some of the Streetmosphere people who were so great and such fun. We took pictures of the decorations, really just enjoying the atmosphere of it all.

100_4368.jpg

100_43042.jpg

100_4305.jpg

We had to shop then! Disney has adorable little clothes to dress your dolls or dogs, I suppose and DD bought Chip and Dale and Mickey hats for each of them! She's going to have to take a picture because they are just adorable! She also got two mugs to add to her collection; Year of A Million Dreams and Walt and Mickey.

100_43002.jpg

100_4299.jpg

We made our way over to Tomorrow Land.

100_4288_00.jpg

100_4287_00.jpg

DD road Space Mountain twice and I found a quiet spot to wait. I chatted with my Mom and people watched and then realized that Mater was dead!! I had to go and find a CM to call for a new one. It took them twenty minutes, but they brought me a brand new Mater!!

Our party pictures coming up next and they are fabulous!!!

I'm as usual loving your pictures. Sorry you had a bad experience at Liberty Tree tavern...We were planning on going there but not now :)

I love your quote, "I love this picture because it makes me think of a real fairy tale. Like you are a princess but lost your memory and are walking through the woods and come across this amazing sight!" That is so true, makes me remember being there as a little girl and imagining that! princess:

Oooh, a surprise fastpass, that is cool! I didn't know they did that at the fastpass machines. What a nice surprise!

That's pretty awesome at the Fast Pass machine...hoping we get a surprise like that one for Space Mountain :) But I've never used FP...it didn't exist the last time I went which was 1995

I wouldn't recommend anyone going to LTT for lunch. It was just awful and on top of that, a table next to us was really upset with their meal, sent it back twice and were furious by the time it came. However, the dessert -- spectacular!! DD honestly said she would go just for that!! I wonder if you can get it to go??? :thumbsup2

It really does make me think of that. I always wanted to be a princess ... although rock star is better! :rotfl2:

I don't know which fast pass machines spit out those surprises. I'm sure it is somewhere on the boards, but what a treat that was! We were really excited.

I am too chicken to ride Space Mountain but DD just loves it! FP is brilliant, it truly is. We use them at all parks all the time.

Yay an update!:thumbsup2 Sorry about your lunch at LTT. Mom and I ate there last spring and it was just ok. I was wondering about a lot of places for just dessert. Hmmm....:scratchin could you make a ressie and not eat a meal?

Here are the treasures I took home with me!

Mugs from the Emporium! (Not the clearest of photos....)
100_4654.jpg

Most of these pins were from previous trips, but I picked out some new ones from Pin Traders that evening -- Chip 'n Dale in their patriotic outfits, Belle in her yellow dress, Mickey and Minnie riding on Maelstrom (with a moving sword, oooohhh! :rotfl: ), and Stitch taking over the monorail! The Stitch one is actually part of a set; about six or so more characters on parts of the monorail, you can link them together on a pin-board if you collect them all and you've got the whole monorail with Stitch leading the way! :thumbsup2 If you spent over $30 at Pin Traders you got to choose from a select group of pins and only pay $1! I was lucky to find one of Jasmine, she's one of my favorite characters!
100_4653.jpg

DM is so clever! They look like they're ready for a day at the park!
100_4652.jpg

For only $17.99 at Mouse Gears! It's a beautiful throw.

Hi Figment! :wave2: I LOVE the old man from the Muppets pin! Nice!

Sorry to hear about LTT. We ate there back in May and it was okay, but we are going to try something different on our upcoming trip. We are going to take the monorail from MK to the CR for lunch at The Wave. I've read some really good reviews about The Wave and I am anxious to give it a try!

Hope you all have a great week!

Disney and their pins!!!! They sure know how to make things cute! The whole pin trading with the CM's make having them even more fun! I tired to restrain myself to only certain pins, I think I have about 10 but DS really got into it! ::yes:: He really enjoyed the CM's and talking.... he's quite the extrovert! :rotfl:

What a shame about your LTT meal Heidi, good job that at least the dessert was nice!

How cool you got surprise FP's for Philarmagic, we got ones for Carousel of Progress when we got some Buzz ones :)

Love your pins, you've got tons now, I love the idea of the linking monorail ones :thumbsup2

Hmmm.....where is my mother? She needs to get to our fabulous MVMCP-night! :cool1: I am in Orlando this week visiting my boyfriend, so close to Disney World, yet so far! I had a dream last night we pulled up to the MGM entrance and couldn't go inside! I think I'm going crazy :rotfl: :lmao:

Look who DM and I have tickets for this April :hyper: :jumping1: :hyper:
BAC-FleetwoodMac-SplashPage-1.jpg

Fleetwood Mac are my favorite band (especially Stevie! oh my goodness! :upsidedow)!!! I couldn't be more excited unless I had front row and was meeting them in person! This is such great news for DM and I, we will have a terrific night.

My boyfriend and I visited the Hard Rock last weekend and I found a whole wall (make that two walls) dedicated to the band! (If you are not a fan of the band or could care less, I understand and skip ahead! :rotfl2:)

100_4704.jpg

Now DM better get to work on that TR! :laundy:
Oh, and here is a picture of Elton John's credit card :confused3
100_4734.jpg

I would LOVE to see Fleetwood Mac!! I had their album "Rumors" when I was younger and remember hearing them. I think they're an amazing band too.

Sorry I've been MIA, the new meds for the Chronic Bronchitis put me right to sleep. I've lost several days just sleeping!! :rotfl:

Yay an update!:thumbsup2 Sorry about your lunch at LTT. Mom and I ate there last spring and it was just ok. I was wondering about a lot of places for just dessert. Hmmm....:scratchin could you make a ressie and not eat a meal?

I wonder if you could get a dessert to go? Because that dessert was heaven on a plate!

Oh don't worry we won't be going to LTT :)

:thumbsup2

I would love to eat at The Wave next time we go to Disney. The menu looks really interesting and the reviews have been so good.

Page 55 and I've finally caught up!!! Im here now dont worry!

Welcome!! Thanks for posting!

:rotfl:

Those pins are so detailed. I had no idea until we won them last year. I always avoided even looking at them because they were expensive and I just didn't get it. I do now!! :cool1: They're so much fun.

What a shame about your LTT meal Heidi, good job that at least the dessert was nice!

Those surprise FP's are such a great idea by Disney. It gives you a "gift" for free and makes you feel all yummy inside!!

Look who DM and I have tickets for this April :hyper: :jumping1: :hyper:
BAC-FleetwoodMac-SplashPage-1.jpg

I'm sooooo excited!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I would LOVE to see Fleetwood Mac!! I had their album "Rumors" when I was younger and remember hearing them. I think they're an amazing band too.

I've loved them forever! I remember when they were on the cover of Rolling Stone and all in bed, fully dressed, but on a bed. It caused an incredible uproar!! So funny how times have changed (and sorta sad). :rotfl2:

Have fun for me at the concert. Dh got me tickets for them a while back and I ended up having surgery right before the concert and couldn't go so we had to sell our tickets:sad:

MAGIC KINGDOM Continued!

DD and I went over to Winnie the Pooh and a nice woman on a scooter told me where to park so it would be close to the exit of the ride. She walked onto rides, too. We also met a couple who were major pin collectors and they loved our pins, especially the ones that we won for Year of Dreams. They wee so nice to talk to. I love meeting people at Disney.

It was time to get our Christmas Party bracelets in the Rose Garden. We were so excited and everyone was so nice.

100_4371.jpg

100_43102.jpg

We decided on an early dinner because we were hungry after not eating the yucky sandwich at LTT. We went to Peco's Bill (you constant readers know I love fixin's!) and both DD and I got cheeseburgers. DD put a few things on her burger, I put everything on mine and then some!!

100_4321.jpg

100_43202.jpg

The burgers are delicious and fixin's are just to die for but .... Disney DID switch to whole wheat buns which just infuriates me. At least give us a choice, some people, like me, are allergic to whole wheat! Don't force me to be healthy! Let me make my own decisions! If I'm eating grilled red meat and putting cheese sauce on it, maybe that health issue isn't a priority at the moment! I know this is a complaint many have about Disney from the fruity alcohol drinks to the buns to the vitamin waters, and I totally agree! Give me a choice! So anyway, sorry for the rant, so I ate everything but the bun!!

After dinner, we went to Tomorrow Land. The park was emptying out due to the Christmas party that night. We did Buzz Lightyear (not one of my personal favorites) and then TTA.

They had a Christmas place set up for Stitch and DD and I had fun posing there.

100_43242.jpg

100_4373.jpg

We went into the Galaxy Palace theater for Mickey's Night Before Christmas. They were checking wrist bands very carefully and although many people tried to get in without them, they were immediately turned away.

It was beautiful inside and this was the magical snow ceiling.

100_4376.jpg

100_4377.jpg

We didn't have great seats but it was standing room only. The show was absolutely fantastic and fun and I hope everyone gets a chance to see it! However, there was a very scandalous event! Mickey and Minnie slept in the same bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocking!!!!!!! Or did I miss my wedding announcement?? :rotfl2:

100_4379.jpg

100_4380.jpg

100_4381.jpg

100_4383.jpg

Afterwards we waited in line to meet Stitch and guess what? He was the real Stitch and was sooo much fun hugging and kissing us. He had on Christmas gear of a red and green scarf and a Santa hat. We didn't get any pictures of this, unfortunately, because we had Photopass take them. They were just awful. But it is one of our favorite memories.

DD and I decided not to do many rides and instead meet as many characters as possible. We walked up through Tomorrowland and saw Alice and the Mad Hatter by the Mad Tea Party. We met the Mad Hatter first and it was my very favorite character meeting ever!

DD posed with him and he asked her about her pins and she showed him Alice. He wasn't pleased she didn't have one of him. I told them to pose together and he told me he wasn't posing with her, he was posing near her! We all burst into laughter.

100_4331_00.jpg

Then it was my turn. He immediately asked me where his pin was. I told him, "I believe it might be back at my resort." He told me he thought I was lying and I said "I suppose it could be at home." He asked me if that was the truth and I thought about it and said "I think it must be." He stared at me for a moment and said "I don't know if you're lying or not anymore! But I'm posing WITH you because that's something I would do!!" Hysterical!

100_4332_00.jpg

100_4333_00.jpg

Next was Alice, DD showed her her pin and they talked for a long time. The CM wrangler even came up to look at DD's pins! I posed with her too and she was the perfect Alice!
