Hi Friends

Thank you all so much for all the warm words. We are so sad and so heartbroken. All the little things seem to be the hardest to get through without Diva. I came home from the grocery store and without her to greet me, it was so painful that I just cried. And sleeping without her was nearly impossible. How a five pound dog took up so much space in a bed and a house and a heart would be impossible for those without pets to understand, but she is missed desperately in every single inch of our lives.

I've had other dogs in my life, but none were as loving, sweet or smart as Diva was. We got her a few years after my divorce and she made our little family so solid. We were doing okay before her, but after her we were great. And when I got cancer, she never wanted to leave my side. As I told you guys, she started sleeping with me two days before I got the telephone call with my diagnosis. She was with me through all the treatment, the illness, the fatigue. She made me laugh when it was the last thing I felt like doing, she cuddled me constantly. She just knew.

Last night, when I finally got to sleep, she came to me. And although some people would say I was crazy or that I was dreaming, I believe it was real, it was Diva. She was right up against me, like she always was, and she looked so happy and looked at me with those love filled eyes. And I woke suddenly and knew that she was okay, she was happy. I believe she's in Heaven with my Daddy and family and she's healthy and just waiting for us all to be together again someday.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I've been PMing with your DD for a couple months about trip excitement, whe she told me about Diva today. I just wanted to send my condolences to you, pets really do leave a hole in your heart hat can take a lifetime to repair. Be glad you gave her such a wonderful home and love for her whole life!

Also, I just finished reading your pre-TR and I'm loving it so far! I love all the old pictures too, it brings back a lot of memories from when I was a kid, I'm the same age as your DD and we probably have a lot of the same photos!

Heidi - I firmly believe Diva came to you during the night. She wanted to make sure you knew she is alright. She's with the angels, she's with your dad, she's with my beloved cat. She's in good company, I can assure you.

Oh Heidi...I am so sorry. I know those words hold so little comfort when the world seems so sad...but I truly am sorry. From the pictures and the stories you have shared about Diva, I could tell she was a sweet little whipper snapper with a heart of gold and a wide streak of sass.

I know you will miss her...I know it hurts. What I don't know is that I can say or do anything to offer any comfort. Losing a loved one (and yes, sweet doggy best friends count too...heck, they count double since they only have unconditional love to offer) just plain hurts/sucks. You have my condolences, my prayers and if it helps, a wish for a sprinkling of pixie dust in your life . Gentle hugs for you on this very sad day.

When you have a chance, please PM me your contact info again. When I lost my last laptop, I lost it. I had deleted it from my PM box after I emailed it to myself...but when the computer poofed on me, I lost all of my saved information.

PS I do demand one thing...remember your most fun times with Diva and I DARE you not to smile!

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to thank you all again and let you know that I am doing a bit better. More and more of the happy memories are coming through and I'm able to see that last day as a blessing to be able to hold her and pet her and talk to her, which she loved.

I've been trying to keep busy. DD and I did some shopping and bought some things for our Disney Trip. I also started a scrap book for Diva. I'll post pictures of the stuff we bought and of the book when I've finished.

Oh, and I dyed my hair! I'll post pictures of that, too, in a few days! It's different but I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you all!! You are good people!!

Oh, and Barb, I bet Diva and your beloved cat have already exchanged stories and are looking down on us, purring .... and Diva making this weird noise under her breath!

Oh, and she was almost saying "Mama" -- I KNOW how weird this sounds, but DD and my Mom can attest to it! She couldn't make an "MMMM" sound (due to no lips ) but she definitely had the phonics of "Mama" down so great!! Sadly, I never video taped her doing it, but it was just incredible!

Oh, and Jay, I went swimming today and we have an iguana who hangs out in my backyard or runs across the electric company wires!! I want to try and get a picture of him for your creature loving boys!!

I hope your days and nights get a bit easier as they go. One day, the memories will just fill up your heart and squeeze most of the pain out. There will always be that small hole/scar...but the happiness that was Diva will fill that up and your memories of her will be the best bandaid ever invented.

DAY ELEVEN

Our last day!

Already sad and it hasn't even happened yet!

We are spending the day at MGM, doing some of our favorite thrill rides like TOT and RnR. We'll do the Great Movie Ride and maybe we'll be lucky again like last year and win a dream! First day and last day of our trip.

We won't be on the DDP anymore so we'll eat two counter service meals. Many Dissers don't like the counter service at MGM, but I'm hoping against hope that it'll be better and we'll find something yummy. We might even do just one meal and fill up on snacks and soda. (Well, that would be me with the soda -- DD HATES soda and HATES when I drink it, which makes me drink it all the more when we're out ((I don't drink it at home!)) just to spite her!! ) Every time we talk about our trip and what we're eating or snacking on, I mention COCA COLA, just to annoy her!! I am supposed to avoid caffiene, so she's justified, but I've been teasing her for 21 years and I'm not about to stop now!! It's too much fun. We both inherited good natured and loving teasing from my Daddy, as he was the king of making us all laugh.

We plan on leaving MGM around 6 p.m. before Pop Warner comes in at 7 that night. I'm not sure where DD got this information, but I'm sooooooo glad she did!! Those kids didn't bother me (their obnoxious parents were another story) but there are so many of them that the lines became crazy. I remember we had fast passes for Test Track one night last year and the line for that was at least sixty or seventy people!!

The only good part about the last day is getting ready to plan for 2009!

And I still have that Goofy and that book (both in pretty good condition I might add!) I'm holding in one of those Poly pictures. I remember that was also the trip where Diva stayed at the T&TC Kennel! Even though she got a cute certificate, a Disney-themed bandana, and her picture next to a Pluto topiary and doghouse, I don't think she had the time of her life at the WDW Kennel!

We are saving our change for Disney. (Mine is for soda! ) I decided to keep it in my popcorn bucket from last year!

Now that all our Disney days are done, I have some shopping things to put up, a surprise I found at the Super Target today (and will show you on our 99 day celebration!). If anyone has any suggestions for this PTR, please make 'em, or any pictures they want to share!! I'd love it!

It's growing, that's for sure! I keep hoping it will be longer by our trip. It's frizzy, though, and I never had frizzy hair before. I keep trying all the products and some are okay.

I'm so happy to see you here! I've missed you.

I'm feeling okay. Physically, I'm doing good for a change. I guess it is those normal blood test results that have helped things! Emotionally, I'm still really hurting about my Diva, but she still makes me smile everyday.
