UP!!!!

:lmao:

OK - it's official. You have too much time on your hands!!!! Love the photos of Diva & the Steelers. If the Vikings were anything to Cheer about, we wouldn't even be having this discussion!! :cheer2:

When I was looking for pictures of Diva to put in the scrapbook, I kept coming across our Steeler parties and she looked so cute -- she was the perfect color to be a Steeler fan dressed up in gold!! :lovestruc She would bark like crazy when we cheered and it is such sweet memories, it had to go in her book!

OH MY GOODNESS...that is one fine little lizard friend you have there! ;) I showed all three of the bigger boys and they all thought he was too cool to let him live "out in the wild"...in fact, they think you should make him a pet and serve him treats on a silver platter.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I am not kidding. We were talking about it and looking at the picture and little smarty pants, Stitch, says that "She could hug him and love him and call him SIR GEORGE and bring him treats on a silver platter!" HA HA HA. This came out of the mouth of a seven year old. :lmao:

We ALL agree that he is most adorable and we would be interested to see his friends as well. Personally, I was wondering if "Beast" might want to join him for a little sunbathing and of course, you would be needed to take all of the pictures! That poor, poor Prince Eric. First he is almost trashed, then he was dressed so scandalously and now he has cyber stalkers suggesting he go out and lay among the wild beasts (which IS only fitting since he is the Beast himself). :upsidedow

Sir George is staying outside where he belongs! All his buddies are out there and they'd miss him, so tell Stitch I acted in Sir George's best interest!! So cute! However, if I catch him, I'll bundle him up and send him right to you!! :rotfl:

No sun today for the Beast to sun in! We are having crazy storms! DD and I went out for a drive and I had to pull into a parking lot while it eased up; there were two trucks and four cars waiting at the same time. The rain was coming in from all sides and possibly up from the ground!

I'm still looking for Iggy for the boys and we've also got a ton of baby lizards running around. Pictures and ickiness soon to follow!

Jay, one month and six days !!!!! WHOO HOOO

Hey Disney Lovers!

I just wanted to tell you that I'll be away from the computer for a few days. I'm having what my oncologist calls "radiation uptake" which is feeling the side effects from radiation even though it has ended. Incredible hot flashes (I can't even get too close to lightbulbs!), fatigue, swollen things that got cancer in them since it won't let me write b o o b! :rotfl: , no appetite, mood swings (it is big fun!). He said this will come and go possibly for ten years!! :scared1: Luckily, it doesn't seem to happen often.

When I come back I'll have some purchases to show you. DD and I went to the Disney Store last night! So much fun, just hearing the adverts makes you want to cry with excitement!

Take care and I'll see you when I'm cool again!!

Rest up & feel better. And cooler!

It really wouldn't let you write b o o b? :confused3

Who knew?

Can't wait to hear about the purchases. I'll bet they're good!

Hugs!

Barb

Hi Barb!

Thanks!!

I'm not there yet, but I will be!!

I owe you an email!!

Well, Tropical Storm Fay has forced me out of my self imposed healing exile. I wish I could say I'm all better but truth is -- I'm hot hot hot, my mood swings are driving me even more insane than my family, and I'm sore all over! This is like having PMS or Menapause at 100 mph!! :rotfl:

We don't know what Fay is going to do yet, but our governor called for a State of Emergency for the whole state of Florida and they've put a mandatory evacuation on visitors in Key West. We are under a tropical storm watch where I am. I'm in an evacuation zone should a big hurricane come because the beach is so close. After she's done battering Cuba, she's supposed to gain in strength and fury and turn into a hurricane, possibly a biggie. I guess no matter if she turns east or west, we're going to get big time wind and rain. So I have some errands to go on, to fill up with gas and get some supplies. DD and I are going to put up the hurricane shutters.

So I'll be back later with lots of pictures of us getting hurricane ready!! (Hopefully that we won't need to be ready for!!) Last time we had a big hurricane, we had to spend two weeks in a hotel in Orlando waiting for our electricity to come back on! :scared1:

Seems no one is sure if Fay is going to visit us or not. We are probably going to definitely get the bands with the tough winds and lots of rain, but we are in a watch now.

So I did my shopping and filled up my tank. I have a few pictures to show you.

We're a little unsure of closing the hurricane shutters and will wait until tomorrow but mine are always closed. Here is my bedroom.

We have our battery powered television and fans in case we lose electricity and we more than likely will since we lose it often anyway.

Usually when there is a huge storm out on the horizon, our weather is amazing. Very clear. But today it is overcast. I went down to the beach to check out the waves.

So we'll keep hoping it goes west and misses us. We won't miss it!!

Batten down the hatches!!!!! :sail:

Stay safe! Please tell me you aren't one of these people who "rides out the storm" with a hurricane party. ;)

Hugs, Barb

No hurricane party here! That was for my crazy relatives who lived in Key West and wouldn't leave but invited all the neighbors over!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: We would beg them to come up to Ft. Lauderdale, but they never would.

We have the shutters and we are on a corner, so we're safe. (I hope!) We've stayed through some bad ones but left when the electricity refused to come back on.

Still no answer from either CNN or the weather channel on what is happening. At least they're being honest about not knowing. Publix was jammed with people today! :scared:

Barb and I were talking about past hurricanes and I have some pictures from Wilma, from 2005. That was the one that led us to Orlando for two weeks just waiting for our electricity to come on. It was too dangerous in Ft. Lauderdale and our hotel in Orlando had dozens of people from home. There were no traffic lights, it was incredibly dark at night, in some places there was looting. It was scary and the police recommended leaving if you could.

I never found the disk for my scanner so these are pictures of pictures! Sorry!

This is the gate in our yard. Nearly half of it blew down, some of it into the neighbor's yard.

A tree up the street.

100_3697.jpg

This is a gas station. It has never reopened.

100_3696.jpg

100_3695.jpg

This was in Ft. Myers where we waited hours to get gas. Fights broke out, people were furious -- it was scary. Then we saw the National Guard.

Hopefully Fay will keep moving West!

WOW! Gas for $2.85....boy I miss those days!!:rotfl2:

Stay safe please!! We had a bad storm back in March and the wind took our trampoline!!
If you see in this photo where my dog is...that's where the trampoline was. It got lifted up over the fence and landed in the trees. I woke up that morning and looked out the back window - called DH and said the trampoline is gone! He said "What do mean GONE?":scared1: It was then I saw it about 3 feet up in the trees!! It was ruined:sad2: You can see back by the tree line. It was actually uo higher then that. The photo was after me and the kids tried to get it out.
100_3656.jpg

We bought a second one and this one gets tied down very securely every night!
It was also after that storm that we found at least 50 dead baby birds from about 20 or so nests. My kids gathered them all up and buried them. It was so sad:sad1:

I know grocery stores always get packed when news of a storm comes. I try to keep alot of non-perishable meals in the house. I live about 30 mins from the nearest store anyway.

Stay safe! I'll be praying for your safety!!
Kimba

Stay safe Heidi! And if it's not too much trouble, make sure that SIR GEORGE and his friends are okay too. ;) Really though, I wish you a very easy time with the incoming weather. As soon as the storm passes (and you are able with electricity and all) please post an update so that we know how you faired. I will be sending out good thoughts and prayers for you.

PS Those shots of the beach made me wish for a sandy/watery place to be today!

Hi Kimba!!

I noticed those gas prices and couldn't believe how much it is now! That was sticker shock!

Wow, a trampoline up in the trees!! OMG! :scared1:

Our stores are nuts right now! We just got back from getting ice and extra bread and the parking lot was crazy and inside was worse. The bagger was telling me about her asthma and bronchitis and how scared she was to be outside right now. (Even though she was in the store!)

Thanks for the prayers! I'm hoping we'll keep electricity due to my need for a cold mist humidifier 24/7 because of some damage the cancer treatment did to me. Fingers crossed!

LOL I went outside in the back yard with my camera yesterday to see if I could get some shots of the baby lizards for the boys. There were none to be found. I guess Sir George and Iggy and all the rest of my wild kingdom know what to do in this scary storm stuff!

We are trying to figure out how bad it will be and if we need our hurricane shutters closed or can leave them open. Our neighbors are all confusing us because some are closed and some are open! :confused3 I need to do a check and make sure all battery powered things like our flashlights and fans and television and all that are ready to go. It is already storming like crazy and Fay isn't even here yet!

I'm going to go and cook a big meatloaf (I use my Daddy's recipe) that will have plenty of leftovers just in case we lose electricity!

Oh no, I just found out there is a Tropical Cyclone out in the Atlantic that is expected to get strong in the next 48 hours!!!! :scared1: :sad2:  And we're under a tornado watch until 11 p.m.

Meatloaf is in so I'm going to drive around my neighborhood to see if more shutters are up and take a quick run down to the beach to see the waves. I'll post pictures if I get some!

When will the madness end????????? We need some pixie dust! :wizard: :wizard:

:lmao:

Oh, goodness. Having a friend in Florida is getting kind of stressful. Good thing you're worth it!

Do you have a generator you can use for your humidifier? I'd love to be able to have DH run his over to you.

OK - as always, be safe, be cool.

Hugs -
Barb

Thanks, Barb! I'm glad I'm worth it, too!! :rotfl:

I don't have a generator! I'm sucking up all the cold mist that I can!! :rotfl2:

They are predicting 60 mph winds here, huge waves, and lots of rain. We're ready!
