The Plan:
Last full day at WDW
ADR-5:25-Ohana’s-Farewell Dinner
Epcot in the evening
Actual
Weather-High 70’s/Pleaseant
We had decided to head to MGM this morning so we could catch a few of the shows that we had not seen, but wanted too. On our agenda were Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
and the Beauty and the Beast show.
Nugget, Flash and Boot Strap were taking it easy again this morning (taking it easy equals sleeping in). So off the rest of us head to the bus stop only to be headed off by about 60 Perky Peppy Cheerleaders who got to the bus stop about 30 seconds before we did now there is nothing wrong with being Perky and Peppy, but being on the same bus with 60 Perky, Peppy teenage cheerleaders was not my idea of a good idea. They were having a cheerleader competition of some kind this weekend over at MGM. Now we were a little surprised to see that they were staying at the Lodge instead of the All-Star resorts, they must have some really good boosters if they could afford the Lodge prices.
We knew we wouldn’t be able to get on (or want to get on) the first bus especially since there were about 20 guests in front of the cheerleaders so we opted to take the next bus that arrived that was going somewhere else and then transferring to an MGM bus. It so happened that the next bus to arrive was headed to Animal Kingdom so we hopped on it and were on our way, leaving the Perky, Preppy Cheerleaders in our diesel exhaust. I noticed that the guests at the front of the MGM bus line had very concerned looks on their faces, well except for the two 12- or 13 year old boys whose eyes were as big as plates with their mouths agape and drool running down their chins, but I figured that’s their parents problem, Sorceress and I had successfully saved our brood from what we figured would be our certain demise by pecking ourselves to death due to a very long bus ride.
Jumping on the Animal Kingdom bus actually worked out really well, on our trip over the kids decided that they wanted to try and get one more ride on Expedition Everest, so when we arrived they headed off to the park entrance while Sorceress and I found the MGM bus stop and waited a few minutes before boarding the bus to MGM. The plan was for the kids to meet us there later.
Sorceress and I headed off to MGM and the kids went to do battle with the Yeti. We got to MGM and saw that Lights, Motors, Action was going to be starting soon so we headed back to see it, this is the one show that I really wanted to see this trip. When we got there they were already seating so we went in and got seats stage right about 10 rows up.
Once the show got started I sat there watching the show with my eyes as big as plates with my mouth agape and drool running down my chin, I found this show to outstanding, now Sorceress says it must be a guy thing she thought it was okay, but I really liked it, I was very impressed with all of the
Precision driving,
the jumps,
the skidding,
the backwards driving,
the fire
Oh My…OH MY
Sorry I was getting a little excited there remembering it all again, I have to say it kind of reminded me of my commute to work on the California Freeway System everyday.
After the show we heard from the kids and they were going into the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and were going to save us seats, so we hurried over there, well as much as I could hurry with my toe (which was doing to bad today) and found them towards the back of the theatre and settled in for the show. We had seen this show a couple of times on our past trips, but this is one that Eeyore had requested and we always enjoy it and this time was no exception. I think it took Eeyore a little while to figure out what was special about the one audiences “volunteer”.
Eeyore had also expressed a desire to see the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, I had enjoyed it so much the first time who was I to say no, after all it had precision driving, jumps, smoke, fire…Wow is it hot in here?...
So we headed back to the Streets of America towards the stadium, and we made a stop at Toy Story Pizza Planet
We got some Pizzas and salads for lunch before going to the show. After we ate I headed back to get in line for the next show since it took me a little longer to get places and the rest of the group did some last minute shopping for things and then joined up with me just as they started seating. We ended up sitting almost the same place we did this morning, maybe a few rows lower. The show was 20 minutes late in starting, but was just as good as the one this morning, in fact there were a few tricks that they did in this show that they hadn’t done in the first one. It was another good show and I will defiantly see it again on our next visit.
We got a call from Flash and Boot Strap as we were leaving the show, to let us know that they were on their way into the park so we arranged to meet up with them at Staring Rolls Café over at Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd.
Nugget stayed back at the Lodge, Flash said she had a headache and was resting; (I think she was secretly packing already) and would meet us at Ohana later for dinner.
The kids took off to go to ride Twilight Zone Tower of Terror one last time. As Sorceress and I we were walking out of the Streets of America we were met by a sea of Red Traffic Cones and Guest Relations Cast Members at the end of the street near Sci-Fi Diner. We could see that the street was very wet and by the odor there must have been a sewage back-up problem in the area. So we made our wide detour and got over to Staring Rolls to meet up with everyone. We grabbed some light decadent snacks and sat at a table and enjoyed them and reminisced about all the fun we had this trip. Flash expressed a desire to see the Lights, Motors, Action show but it was decided that we really couldn’t fit any more shows in and still make it to our Ohana ADR’s at 5:25 p.m. So we did the next best thing we shopped our way out of the park.
The girls found some really good deals in one shop; it had some Walt Disney World clothing and other items on sale for 40% off, then when you added on the 40% Cast Member Holiday discount on top of that for a total of 80% how could they not afford to buy stuff. That was their story and they were sticking to it, so off we went with all of our packages and left MGM for the last time this trip.
We caught the bus to the Polynesian Resort for our traditional last night dinner at Ohana.
We had heard from Nugget and she was on her way, we got to the resort a little early so we checked out the grounds a little
Then a little shopping
Before going to check in
When we went upstairs there was Nugget waiting for us. We put our name in and were seated in about 10 minutes at a very large round table that could seat a party of 9 (Magical) in the back corner of the restaurant with a great view of Bay Lake and the Grand Floridian and of course the Magic Kingdom (more Magic).
The first round of starters was brought out and Flash really enjoyed them, so when the waiter came back we requested more of everything so the rest of us could try some of them.
In no time at all we were up to our double chins in more food than you could imagine, now the menu had change since our last visit in 2005 and we did miss a few things, the pineapple bread, the jumbo shrimp (mostly Indy1 and Flash missed these), I missed the fried Stuffed Wontons, (they did have the Fried Wonton chips, but they weren’t the same thing) and we all missed the Pineapple with dipping sauce.
So we stuffed ourselves and then ate some more, Flash and Indy1 kept Bubba Gump in business with their intake of the Spicy-Sweet and Sour Shrimp
********WARNING NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART********
and once again the servers couldn’t seem to keep enough potatoes at the table, you would think we were all where from Idaho or something.
We settled our account (with the Cast Member discount, MAGICAL) and headed off to our second tradition of our final night and that is to go walk around World Showcase at Epcot and listen to Indy1 and Flash moan and complain about how miserable they are and once again this year they did not disappoint.
We caught the Monorail to the TTC and then transferred to the Epcot Monorail. We walked back to World Showcase and headed to Japan so Eeyore could get a pearl that she had gotten earlier in the trip set into a necklace, while we were there I made a purchase of a small “Patience Cat” my family is always telling me I need to be more patient so I thought that I could use all the help I can get (it hadn’t worked yet when I was trying to get it out of the little plastic bag they had put it in and taped it shut).
Sorceress had requested that we get a group photopass picture before we left so we headed back up towards Spaceship Earth and found a photographer in front of the fountain, so we had our picture taken with Spaceship Earth in the back ground.
After the picture Sorceress wanted to go to the Art of
Disney store to check one more time for her picture of Le Cellier and the gardens, so we headed there with Indy1(Cast Discount) and TinkerBoo while the rest of the group went on Test Track for the last time. We agreed to meet up at the Electric Umbrella later. We lucked out and they had just received some more of the picture that Sorceress wanted so we purchased it and had it shipped home, Sorceress was very happy.
Once everyone was together again we went to Spaceship Earth for our last ride in Epcot for this trip. Here is a really cool picture I took of the kids

Oh, that’s right I don’t have it because someone deleted it by mistake, well you will just have to take my word for it, I out did myself. I promised Sorcerers that I wouldn’t say who deleted the picture.
After our safe return to Earth we made the very slow, sad walk out of the park and to the bus stop. We got back to the Lodge and started the depressing job of packing.
Earlier in the day I had contacted the front desk and requested late check out for tomorrow, they said that we could stay in our room until 1:00 p.m., so our plans are to hang out at the Lodge, finish packing and I think I heard something about water sprites again.
Toe up-date-The pain was not as bad tonight when I removed my shoe; it appears that the bruising has stopped spreading, but I will be really surprised if I don’t lose my little toenail. EEEWWWWW
Well tomorrow is it, our last day of vacation in Florida: sad1:
