Trip of a “Million Dreams” Well laughs anyway*Last Installment 4/2 pg 12,#171 w/Pics

:rotfl: this picture cracked me up!!!! i have been loving your trip report - it looks like you guys had a blast!

Thank you for the kind words, we did have a great time, Swimlover brought up the subject of when our next trip was going to be during our game night last Saturday.

And my kids will be rolling their eyes and sighing but I have to say that “The Goonies” rock!!

That was some pretty cool pictures of the lion! We've never been lucky enough to see that!

Now the Cast Member may have been pulling our chain about hardly ever seeing the Lion standing and roaring, but he sure seemed as excited about it as we were.

Thanks for reading and commenting

Still enjoying your TR and having a good laugh each installment

Thank you glad you are enjoying it

I love the picture of Boot Strap being eaten by Indy. I laughed for a while with that one.

We had a blast trying to get this picture just right, I think the people exiting the ride thought we were nuts. Maybe we are, Maybe were not

I also heard the lion roar on a trip in Dec. 2004. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever heard or seen. It also was an early morning Safari ride. All the animals were up and about. It was one of the best Sarfaris we had (ever!).

It was by far our best Safari ride, I have to admit that it made my hair (what little I have left, see cast of characters as to why not much left) stand on end.[/QUOTE]

I have read many TRs lately and many have stayed at WL. I am more interested in staying there now. It has always been on our list of resorts to stay at. We own DVC at OKW and the points chart is much cheaper there than any other resort and OKW has much bigger rooms. I think we will need to splurge one trip and stay there.

I can highly recommend stay at the Lodge, this is our second time staying there and we really enjoyed it. We were originally going to stay at the Port Orleans-Riverside because it was cheaper, but someone in our party expressed a yearning for a Gym:confused3 . So being the more adult people of the group:rotfl2: we agreed to upgrade to the Lodge. There really wasn’t any resistance on our part.

I just caught up with your TR. I'm loving it! Your family seems like so much fun.

We are a pretty fun group:dance3: , the people around us probably think we are pretty irritating, especially with Nuggets “Bad Mothering” skills showing, but we just pretend we don’t know her and point at her along with everyone else.

We just got back from our first trip to WDW (me, my dh, and my 5 yo twins). It's really fun to go to Disney with young children, but I am looking forward to future trips when they can handle longer days.

I don’t know if that day will come about, I was the old guy in the group and I outlasted :woohoo: all of the youngsters that kept sleeping late and taking naps

Thanks for reading

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Nugget a Happy Birthday

No jokes about her age:rotfl: , no snide remarks about wrinkles:lmao: or the effects of gravity:scared1:

Just heart felt Birthday Wishes.

We are looking forward to getting to celebrate with her when she is feeling better

Wait until you see what I got ya, same as last year only bigger

I really love your sense of humour.

"So I decided to see if I could walk on it, it wasn’t easy going but after a few words that I am sure Mickey has never used" rotfl

It's amazing how great of a safari ride you had too! I bet your right and it had to do with the time of the year also, in that it wasn't sweltering out. The lion standing up and roaring, that's sooooo amazing! I'm so jealous!

Regarding the father and son scenario that's really sad. I hate parents like that :(

Glad to hear that your toe made it through the day and I can't wait to hear more!

I have really been enjoying this trip report. It sounds like you and your family had a really great time. Thanks for sharing with us. I look forward to reading about your final day(s) at Disney.

Okay believe it our not Nugget finally got off the dime and got us “The Book” and her flash card for pictures.

Okay in all fairness she actually got it over to my MIL’s house a week ago or so and we finally got it a couple of days ago.

Unfortunately we can’t get her flash card to work in our computer so we are seeking alternate arrangements.

As for the book here are a few pages from it

What Nugget does is assigns everyone a page for each day of our trip and dates it, then the book is passed around and everyone gets to draw what was special to them for that day. Now the rules are that you shouldn’t look at anyone else's drawings for the day until you finish yours.

Even though I give her a very hard time about having to draw in it, I really like looking through it and it is a cute idea.

Also, we had a similar scenario regarding turkey legs!

It is a little sad the level of Guest Service that I am seeing these days at the parks and that goes for both coasts. I remember when you could ask a Cast Member a question and they new the answer or at the very least went to find out the answer. That just doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Now we did come across a number of Cast Member that went above and beyond for us and we really appreciated it and let them know that and if possible we also let a manager know about it.

Thanks for the kind comments, I have had a great time putting the report together.

Goofster - Sorry it has taken me so long to post! I've been off playing around the boards - my bad :3dglasses

I awoke to find my two smallest toes a very beautiful shade of purple and swollen. I decided that I should try and see what I would be able to do with my foot in its current condition. After an hour or so of moving around and not feeling to bad I decided that I would get ready and try to make it to the parks today.

I'm so glad to hear that your toe problem didn't ruin the fun. Well I'm thinking it must have ruined it a little because of the pain but still... at least you didn't have to stay in your room for the next few days. Brave man for toughing it out for the family :cool1:

This had to be one of the best safaris I have taken, or driver was excellent; the weather was nice all of the animals were up and about, and the really special part was that the lion was standing up with his mane blowing in the breeze and roaring as we passed, our driver was really excited, telling us that he hardly ever saw this happen with the lion, he even stopped the ride vehicle so we could get pictures.

The four of us loved Animal Kingdom and again I wish we had more time on our trip to see more of it. We were not as lucky as you because we didn't see any male lions. What a beautiful picture you captured :thumbsup2

The safaris was so much fun and our driver was also excellent. I have to admit that I was a tiny bit concerned about the lions - it appeared as if they could eat us for lunch if they wanted to! :scared:

We should have went a second time also but being our first trip we were more concerned about missing other stuff we hadn't seen yet.

After safely returning from the savanna we took the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail this was enjoyed by all. The gorillas were very active today there was one sitting in the sun with what appeared to be his Blue Blanket when another sprang from a bush and scared the day lights out of him then went scampering off.

Aren't the gorillas just amazing? Disney certainly provides a much nicer atmosphere for them than I've seen at other places.

We then continued to walk over to Dinoland U.S.A to catch the new Finding Nemo Musical. The show received two thumbs up from all of us that stayed awake for it (it turns out Nugget doesn’t snore as loud as Flash, she is still claiming that she wasn’t asleep so we will give her the benefit of the doubt).

:rotfl2: Now you're picking on poor Nugget - shame on you! We didn't see this show - guess it's another thing to add to my list.

After our healthy meal it was time to use the Dinosaur Fastpasses for a close encounter of the T-Rex kind. After the ride Indy1 and Boot Strap reenacted a poster located on the exit path,

This is a really cool photo :thumbsup2 I like the way you do these neat pictures.

So the five of us hopped the bus to the Magic Kingdom, got through security and the turnstiles and headed for Tomorrowland to get Fastpasses for Space Mountain, once we had those in hand Boot Strap wanted a churro

This is probably a stupid question but what is a churro???? :confused3

I figure with the way Boot Strap was playing Hockey and Basketball that Nugget and Flash will be able to retire and live of his Professional Sports income, maybe I can be his driver.

Toe Update- It took me a few minutes to get my shoe off and when I took my sock off I found that now four of my toes had that pretty purple coloring. I took a picture, but my wife says I can’t post it.

Tomorrow is our last full day at Walt Disney World; I can see the depression headed our way

:sad1: You need to learn how to space out your trip report like me so that by the time you finish it...you'll be heading back for your next trip :lmao:

:yay: :yay: :yay:

This is such a neat idea! I'm so glad you were able to post a few pages.

It's definately something I'm going to do for our next trip - the girls will love it.

Nugget: Thanks for the wonderful idea :thumbsup2

What a fun and creative idea, definitely something to do on the plane ride home! Also, it's a shame when CM's won't go out of their way, but there are some, like you said who will, and they always bring the magic to life for us pixiedust: Can't wait to hear more....

First of all I need to say I've been quietly following along with your adventures and loving every minute of it. You are a great family!

Secondly, happy birthday Nugget!!pixiedust:

And lastly, Boot Strap does very well at arcade games for a headless kid! I'm very impressed :worship:

I love your trip report! I think the idea of drawing the pics is such a great memory!

You have such a lovely family!

Goofster - Sorry it has taken me so long to post! I've been off playing around the boards - my bad

No worries, I have been trying to follow your advise and not put up installments as quickly, not sure it’s working I have woken up a few nights in a cold sweat :crazy2: and head for the computer to post one then get control of my self and go back to bed.

I'm so glad to hear that your toe problem didn't ruin the fun. Well I'm thinking it must have ruined it a little because of the pain but still... at least you didn't have to stay in your room for the next few days. Brave man for toughing it out for the family

Yes, I felt it was my duty to bite my upper lip and push threw the excruciating pain for the good of the family and trip. It is not easy being the pillar of strength that everybody looks to for strength and guidance, but some on has to do it.

You do know that when my wife reads this I will have to pick her up of the floor where she has collapsed from lack of oxygen due to uncontrollable laughter.:rotfl2:

We should have went a second time also

It was kind of funny there wasn’t any discussion about it, Nugget said that Boot Strap would like to go again and that they would meet up with us later and we all just said Let’s Go!:drive:

Now you're picking on poor Nugget - shame on you!

She knows I Love her…or do I????:confused3

This is a really cool photo :I like the way you do these neat pictures.

I have to give credit where it is due; most of these types of pictures are the creativity of my kids. Now if they would just put this same energy into taking the trash out at home

This is probably a stupid question but what is a churro????

It is a pastry type thing usually baked and then rolled in a Sugar-Cinnamon mixture, here is a picture of what they look like, the ones Disney sells look a little different but it give you an idea what they look like.

Thanks for reading and posting

What a fun and creative idea, definitely something to do on the plane ride home!

It really is great, when I got “the Book” to make the scans for the post I went back and looked at the entries from our trip in 2005 and had a good laugh, and the memories just flooded back in. Score one for Nugget, well two if you count Boot Strap

Also, it's a shame when CM's won't go out of their way, but there are some, like you said who will, and they always bring the magic to life for us pixiedust:

I really try to remember the ones that make our experience better and there have been a lot of them.

Thanks for hanging in there and commenting

You are a great family!

Thank you, but you would probably change your mind if you had to vacation with us.

And lastly, Boot Strap does very well at arcade games for a headless kid! I'm very impressed :worship:

He is a great kid, he totally amazes me on numerous occasion with how smart he is, now I am not saying that Flash and Nugget might have some thing to do with that, but I am leaning more towards a close relative……:scratchin
