Trip advisor reviews

Was this the one where they said if you have a magicband you are treated like kings and queens? My 16 year old thought this was hysterical.

That would be the one. Sitting waiting to get my oil changed and ac recharged reading those and that one stood out as if you thought to find out you'd see you could do it too.

Yes they knew thier names that pops up on the console when you use your FP+

"Third make sure you have a good credit limit or wads of cash. Two not great burgers, fries and a drink were $27.00 and yes we waited in line to get them."

Not sure if these people have ever been to any sort of amusement park before...I wouldn't expect to pay less than that at Six Flags, Sea World, Universal, or anywhere else :confused3

One reviewer complained that at POP a roach flew in when they opened the door and they had to call 3 times to get someone to take care of it? :confused3

An infestation is one thing, but a single bug? It has never occurred to me to call the front desk of a hotel if I see a single bug in my room. I just kill it and move on with my day. Good grief!

I will agree with some reviewers that are negative about the POP food court though. That place is a mad house and makes me anxious.

I agree with you. I get sick of people complaining about Disney's food prices when they are very comparable to prices at any theme park. Drinks and food are actually more expensive at some arenas where concerts and shows are held.

Love this type of TA too. There's one out there about the frogs croaking at POR. THAT IS WHY I GO THERE! I need to dig that one up. Gives me the giggles.

My favorite TA reviews are the reviews littered with poor grammar, bad spelling, and horrendous punctuation. They are typically the reviews under "terrible". I'm sorry, but all credibility goes out the window when you can't put together two grammatically correct sentences on paper, and I can barely decode what it is you're attempting to say. Everyone makes mistakes, but some of these reviews are just WOW.

This reminds me of a friend who went to Disney World many years ago and did not like it. (Ok, she's not American.) She has no desire to return. I'm thinking, "Good. You won't be in front of any Disney lover in line making them wait longer."

As for food prices being expensive . . . most of the food is way better than the overpriced foods at nonDisney parks.

Have you read most of the garbage on these boards? Or how about the people here on the dis who can't even get the names of the attractions right? This whole thread is ridiculous, and full of hypocrisy. Really? WOW! I'm quite surprised by this. Buy then again, I shouldn't be. Has anybody seen the other forum where people mock and make fun if disboarders? It paints a similar picture to what is being painted on this thread.

As a Top Contributor on Trip Advisor. I can say that most people with my status know what they are talking about. I've had more than 50,000 people read my reviews. Sure, some people are a bit misinformed when it comes to their reviews. But who isn't. I can't tell you how many purely stupid questions I've read here on the dis. They are by far more pathetic than some first-time reviews on TA. If one here wants a good laugh, they don't need to venture to another site. Just hit the back button, and scroll down until you see a question about anything that any everyday idiot can answer themselves without posting it here for twenty other fools to answer.

Reading the one and two star reviews is actually making me a little upset. I can't believe the number of people who thought you had to pay for fast pass. I cannot argue that Disney is expensive--it is! (Theme parks, though, on the whole, are pretty $$ to get in.) I just read one review where the family bought park hoppers for the week at $1400 but didn't "splurge" on the fast passes. I know it sounds silly, but I don't find it that funny--it makes me really sad for them.

I did a surprise Xmas present trip for my son and I jan 2-11, 2014. I started looking and planning in July/August 2013. And when I told some of my family members over thanksgiving (October here in canada) their like ur already planning?! Omg. I was like oh hell yes! But I'm a planner by nature and that drives ppl crazy. I know my cousins and their parents don't plan at all, but they go for 2 weeks every single year for over 20 years. So their thinking is well if we see it, we see it if we don't we don't.. They don't care. I guess I'd be that way if I has gone as often. But my trips aren't that close together and I didn't think a second trip would even be in the cards, he'll even the first trip! I kinda feel sorry for ppl who have never been and don't plan. It's a rude awakening!

I like the one that says that there's no buses between parks. :lmao:

I think this, and several other reviews talking about paying for FP are simply that people don't get the difference between Disney and Universal. If people aren't huge Disney fans, or don't go to Orlando often, they just see all the theme parks as one group. At universal, you have to stay on-site, or pay to use their equivalent of FP. If guests are staying offsite from Disney, they do have to pay to get MBs, so I can see how someone without prior knowledge would see all the people with MBs using FP+ and assume they got to do it because they paid for it. A shocking amount of people didn't know how to use the legacy FP system, I think the new system may be even more confusing for some.

I can't believe people would invest so much $$ in a vacation and not research at least these basic things (like you can't use your parkhopper to go to US, WWOHP isn't in a Disney park, and you can't meet Mickey at US), but it's easy to see how they can be so ignorant if they put no effort into planning.

WTH? At least people here ASK if they're not sure of something, that's what we're all here for! My point in starting this post was not making fun of people but being frustrated I couldn't give them correct information! Like the poster just after you said we wish WDW guests had the information they needed to utilize all the options like FP+.

If all the "idiots" and "fools" quit asking & answering questions this board would die off pretty quick. But since you're a top reviewer with 50,000 views, why don't you share your wisdom with us clueless morons?

I've always loved reading the Tripadvisor reviews for non Disney attraction in orlando, stuff like the tourist trap museums and the dinner shows. Trying to picture them from the reviews is hilarious.

I just went over for a quick look, and do you know they have bugs outside at WDW? Bugs!!! Yes, that was a poster's complaint about POR. There were bugs outside. :rotfl2:

That, and the rooms are the same size as the rooms at the values (ha!) and that they had a long walk, at least 5 minutes, to the front of the resort. The sad thing is that poster states they have been to WDW many times and stayed on site.

I see you can ask the poster questions, so there is a way to comment a bit.

Here's a recent quote from one of the reviews. "Oh and here is the kicker: The water pressure was very low when you wash your hands in all of the sinks in the bathrooms!" They complained about many different things in their review, but at the end, the kicker for them was the water pressure when you wash your hands LMAO :rotfl2:

My DH totally noticed this on our trip in June! However, he (nor I) would ever take the time to write such a negative review complaining about something so minute. I honestly forgot about the water pressure until I read this thread and found it amusing that someone had such a bad trip they even remembered the horrible water pressure during their review. Ha!

I dare say if someone is not sure on the facts, then they shouldn't be posting something as a fact. As in the room sizes at the moderates being the same as that at the values. It makes the reviewer look bad, and calls into question anything else they have posted.

There is a huge difference between asking a question you may think is "stupid" and posting something on a review as factually accurate when it is not.

LOL! My mom went with us last year (she hadn't been since 1999) and she actually commented that the food prices were more reasonable than she expected.

50,000 views aye? I'd bet, after this thread, your count (and many others) are going up.

As another poster pointed out, ASKING a question here on the DIS is not pathetic, it's SMART. It's someone trying to research. It's someone wanting to be educated. Someone complaining about something because they couldn't bother to ask a simple question is pathetic.

I'll happily be one of the 20 other fools trying to educate fellow WDW travelers. :joker:

Yes, I've seen on this board questions that seem silly to me. But, I realize that for someone that has never been to WDW the planning is overwhelming. I'm not here to make fun of people trying to get help with their planning, and thankfully, when I've asked questions, I've always received onlykind and helpful responses. Yes, I've seen on other boards ridiculing of the DIS, but I've rarely seen threads on here deserving of the ridicule. Now, on Josh's site (love his posts and articles), I've seen very unwelcoming responses from veterans of that forum. To be fair, I saw some posts where Josh was trying to put a stop to the meanness.

I love the DIS and it has been a godsend for my trip planning.
