Trip advisor reviews

Thanks I now have a new way to pass the time waiting for my trip. I love the one that says the bathroom at Chef Mickey's was flooded and instead of letting her son who had had an accident use the handicap stall they sent her to the Magic Kingdom. :confused3 I've never been to the Contemporary but I imagine there must be more than one bathroom and one closer than MK.

That one had me puzzled too. There are quite a few public bathrooms in the CR.. can't imagine a CM sending them off to MK!

Yea I read some these reviews, and I'm like I can't figure out what REALLY happened.

I saw one that complained about The Hulk coaster (I think) in Magic Kingdom being down for there whole trip.

One time when I was on the bridge between CR and BLT someone was pointing to the gift shop of SpaceM and telling their friends that is the building that has soarin in it. I stopped and explained...they didn't seem to understand or care.

Of course I've also seen a CM almost physically assaulted over not being able to tell a Guest that WWoHP is not in Magic Kingdom (where the guest clearly thought it was) and they could not tell them which "Disney" park it was in, and they would not be able to use there park hoppers to hop to that park. Some people clearly think park hoppers are good for hopping to ANY park in Orlando

I thought the most interesting one complained that you have to walk everywhere. I wonder what it was that they were expecting. Moving sidewalks?

Apparently, someone forgot to do their homework.

Disney is just awful. The rides suck. The lines are huge. There are barely any rides even then. rides that are supposed to be main attractions end up being for children anyway. The aerosmith ride had nice scenery and good speed. But it was too short and barely any loops and turns. Why? Disney is made for little children. That's why. The tower of terror is next. Tower of "terror". It was written as so scarry and cool. Exact opposite. When I was about to get on the ride I thought it would drop all 12 stories and leave my stomach in my mouth. NOPE. It only bounced up and down a bit then ended. Why? Disney is for kids. That's why. There are also crying kids everywhere. Every where you turn There is a dribbling parasite in front of you that's covered in their own snot and bawling. If you hate kids DO NOT GO. Everything there is made to accommodate them. The only thing Disney has going for it is Epcot. Epcot has amazing restaurants and good atmosphere. BUT there are Still children EVERYWHERE. If you really want to go to Disney just get a 1 day pass and hit Epcot. Or you could be even smarter with your money and go to universal. THAT Is a theme park. Disney is a 35 mile daycare. :rotfl2:

Hmmm I'm guessing, male... age about 16-18, who doesn't recall that he was once himself a snot-covered parasite! :lmao: Lets pray he doesn't reproduce!

I do the same thing....one of the funniest recent reviews that is listing the bad things about the Beach Club is that the BC pool is "really, really small" but then goes on to say "but you can walk over and use the pool at Yacht Club, which is awesome!" :lmao:

I'm thinking this person must have had a room near one of the quiet pools and thought that was it...not realizing that YC/BC are just two sides of the same resort. :rotfl2:

I like this gem: "Disney Characters, I think are very lame. I mean who wants to see a bunch of mouses running around? Not my cup of tea." :rotfl:

ETA: the puzzlement of this one: "We also bought the fast pass which was a huge waste of money. We only got to use it one time in 5 days. Big rip off."

They probably are comparing with the moving sidewalks at Universal.....Disney calls them trams.

The only downside are the long, long lines for everything: from rides to character photos. I will be buying fast pass next time I decide to go to Disney, the time you save is well worth it. On another note, we arrived at the Magic Kingdom at 4pm on one day and the lines were a lot shorter, especially into the evening. The fireworks show at the end of the night is spectacular!

Honestly, I understand that we on the disboards may be in the minority with how much we plan but before I go anywhere, including somewhere nearby like a zoo, Six flags etc, I at least check out the website to see the basics. It's 2014-- getting information is easier than anything!

I guess we do weddings differently in the northeast, but I liked this comment on the Wishes fireworks:

"I know that when you are a kid it is easier to get impressed but even any wedding has better fireworks."

Or this review of Fantasmic:

"started out well with Mickey and beautiful projections of Disney's movies and characters, however in the middle of the show there were projections of witches and corpses. I couldn't believe that Disney would create and worse of all, allow this kind of images to be projected with kids watching them.
I saw many parents leaving half way through the show with young children crying." :confused3

This is my favourite:

But on my 18th b-day, I was told that having a birthday was going to be awesome and you get a lot of free stuff out of it. No, I didn't get anythig free except for a desert with dinner(but first you would have to buy a desert then they would give you it) and thousand "Happy Birthdays".

Awww poor snowflake! She didn't get any free stuff! We'll, except a dessert. And a thousand people's well wishes.

If you want extra entertainment, read the TA reports of the various Disney resorts. SO MUCH FUN!!

trip advisor and yelp are my addictions lol when my DH suggests we go somewhere to eat he looks at me and says "go ahead check your yelp and see what people say about the place!!!" :rotfl: its so much fun to read bad reviews lol

Ok. You people sucked me in and I have spent the past couple of hours on a lovely Saturday afternoon reading the Tripadvisor reviews. If they expect to be viewed as a reputable website, they really should edit their reviews more carefully, or at least add comments when info is completely wrong. There are some interesting people with some interesting ideas about WDW out there.

It does make you think if this is your typical review accuracy what does that mean about some other random place?

Best one so far is mr showed up at 7p on 4th of July and it was crowded. No really, you sure? Laughs.

Yes it was super crowded hint they had you park at Epcot

And there is the one about people with the magic bands allowed to cut in line. ITS THE FASTPASS SYSTEM

I make a game of clicking on the "poor" ratings and seeing the stupidity of lots of the reviews. No way, Disney is crowded! it costs a lot! You have to wait in lines! if only they PLANNED more or RESEARCHED more.

2000th post!! :woohoo:

What was she expecting..... a new car? This isn't the Oprah Show, honey! :rotfl:

One person wrote: "No parades seen during the day " and another complained: "parades every hour".
Must be very confusing for someone who's never been to WDW.

Was this the one where they said if you have a magicband you are treated like kings and queens? My 16 year old thought this was hysterical.
