Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

So how's everyone standing the heat??? We hit 97 yesterday! :faint:

106 RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared:

We have never seen Indy. We probably won't on our next trip either since it will just be Morghan and I. Bummer you didn't get to even see the whole thing either Shelly.

I have my October CBR trip all booked and feel nervous for some reason! :sad2: Can I ask a few meal opinions from you Shelly? I really trust your judgment!

1900 Park dinner
The Plaza lunch
Cape May breakfast
(those three are definite.) And then either Boma or 'Ohana for dinner? I can't decide!

Any experience? I think we've talked about a couple of these before. Thanks so much! :goodvibes

I have to add my 2 cents as well. I'm also a member of the pushy club. :rolleyes1 I've eaten at both Boma and Ohana for dinner and if I had to choose it would be Ohana hands down! Boma was good but Ohana is a must do on every trip. Boma is very 'ethnic' as Sheree put it so if that's not your thing, go with Ohana. :)

---------------------

Sorry you got rained out Shelly. That bites. Atleast you didn't get rained ON though!

I am determined to make it to the Backlot Tour next time. You always say how you enjoy it so I want to see it for myself. It is one of the very few attractions at WDW that I haven't done.

The H & H is terrible today:scared1: in fact I had to use my inhaler after coming back inside at 5 after taking the dog out. We had a couple of beautiful days after the rain earlier in the week.

We spent a good amount of time wandering the streets in DHS in March too. Have not done Indy our last few trips, Maybe next time. I had no idea it got cancelled in the rain. That had to be a disappointment.

I love the food at 50's PT but DH is not fond of the servers antics so we will be dining at MM once again.

HS day looks great. So glad you found great milkshakes :) that's good to know too.

We like to take pics around the area of Streets of Sanfransico too!! You should have gotten your son to lay just a little over to the left so he was right on the tracks of that trolly car coming his way! hahaha!!!

Well I'm all caught up. DH and I went to Atlantic City for a few days- a much needed mom and dad vacation.
TSM and RNRC our family favorites, well most us. The boys love ST especially the new version.
We usually eat at Sci-Fi too another favorite.:thumbsup2
Not many good CS at HS. They need to look into that.
The kids like the Indie show. Ya know, our dog is named after him
My DS11 loves TGMR!!!
I always try so hard to wear my hair down in Disney but I am always to dang HOT! How do you do it?

Mmm... A soft pretzel & milkshake for lunch. :thumbsup2 Glad the milkshakes were tasty!

Bummer about the Indy show... that's become one of Zach's favorites.

Sounds like you were able to get in a lot of rides that morning.

Shelly - too bad you couldn't see the whole Indy show! We haven't been to DHS in a while, and are planning to spend at least a little time there next trip. We don't do RNR or TOT, so that cuts down on the time we spend there. It's sad the food options are so inadequate. They need to improve on that. I'd leave the park and go to the Boardwalk or Beaches N Cream maybe! It just takes so much time! Maybe if I were hopping after the a.m. in DHS and going to Epcot that would be an option...

Stay cool!

Yeah, it definitely was a bummer not getting to see the whole show. You don't ever ride RNRC or TOT??? :scared1: You're missing out!!!!

They really do need to improve the CS choices there. ::yes::

I saw that y'all were really hot up there, too! You've got us beat today - we are at a chilly 92 right now. :cold: DH just left for our camp. He's taking DS and his friend fishing. I decided to skip it - it's just too hot to be outside, and I can sit inside here in my own house with faster internet.

Have a great weekend and stay cool! :cool2:

We broke a record high yesterday -- 97 again! :faint:

I don't blame you, I would have stayed home from the camp too! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

That just really made me laugh! Street wanderers!

Too bad the rain cut Indy short. Those showers that pop up are usually over quickly, so you'd think the show could continue afterward. I guess they have to be careful when it's slick.

How did the heat there compare to what it's like at home now? I've thought about how it feels here now and how I wouldn't be able to take being at Disney if it was this hot.

Yep - we are dirty street wanderers!! :lmao:

I was surprised they cancelled the rest of the Indy show. They must have to do that a lot with all the passing showers down there.

I think it definitely felt warmer at WDW in Apr/May than here. And that's weird because the temps were in the low 90's when we were there and we have been in the upper 90's here recently. The humidity must have been way higher there. :confused3

We didn't get to see the whole Indy show on our last trip either. We ran into the theater to escape the downpour even though we had quite awhile to go before the show started. The rain did stop by the time the show started, but we heard the same thing....too slick for the actors....so we didn't get to see the part with the plane. We might have to go back on our next trip because Madison has never seen the whole show!

Madison LOVED 50's Prime Time on our last trip and begged to go back. Of course, she was putting her elbows on the table on purpose to see what "Cousin" Stacy would say.

Yep, we missed the part with the plane too -- the best part!! :upsidedow

My DS would not take kindly to someone telling him what to do and to clean his plate and all that! :scared1: Plus I've never really seen too much on the menu that looks too good to me. DH would probably like it though!

106 RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared:

106? :faint: That is crazy!!

You're right -- at least we didn't get rained on!

I didn't know you haven't done the Backlot Tour. I think you should give it a try. I really enjoy it! :thumbsup2 I think I just wasn't feeling it this time because of all the heat.

The H & H is terrible today:scared1: in fact I had to use my inhaler after coming back inside at 5 after taking the dog out. We had a couple of beautiful days after the rain earlier in the week.

You better be careful with all that heat & humidity!

It's supposed to only get to 88 today. But it is very overcast and still pretty cool right now. I even have the windows open and the AC off!

Yeah, my youngest would be like your DH and not like all the messing around at 50's PT!! DS13 would probably think it was hilarious!

We really like MM too. I had it booked but ended up cancelling and booking Sci-Fi. I hope we don't regret it!

DHS is always a great day for us! :cool1:

 I'll have to try that with the San Fran picture next time!!

Well I'm all caught up. DH and I went to Atlantic City for a few days- a much needed mom and dad vacation.

I forgot about your little get-away! I hope you and your DH had a great time!

DS13 & I love RNRC and TOT!! :cool1: The boys both love Star Tours. It's so much better now than it was before! :thumbsup2

 How cute that you named your dog after Indy!! We named ours after Captain Jack Sparrow. Just Jack for short! pirate:

Well if you notice my hair started out down that day, but about an hour in it went up in a ponytail. :upsidedow I don't like all the pics with a ponytail, but what are you gonna do when it is a million degrees??? :faint:

Mmm... A soft pretzel & milkshake for lunch. :thumbsup2 Glad the milkshakes were tasty!

Bummer about the Indy show... that's become one of Zach's favorites.

I could go for a soft pretzel and a milkshake for lunch today!! Life is so much better at WDW...:cloud9:

:rotfl:

Yep, we were having a pretty good morning at DHS. Awesome luck with everything except the Indy show!

I could go for a soft pretzel and a milkshake for lunch today!! Life is so much better at WDW...:cloud9:

Me too. Where is that counter service place in my house anyway?

Oh yeah, I forgot. Around here, I have to serve myself.

And make the food.

And clean up.

I much prefer Disney life.
;)

That is definately the best part of the show!

We were lucky that we didn't have a pushy "cousin". She was definately very playful. There was an absolutely CRAZY server in the room next to us though. He was really funny to watch though.

When I was a kid, I was just like your DS. I was very shy and I got nervous when we ate there. Luckily, the CM's that work there are understanding....I think my mom whispered to our CM once that I was shy and definately wouldn't finish my food. Crisis averted! :thumbsup2 Anyways....their fried chicken there is to die for! They also have amazing milkshakes like Sci-Fi and their desserts were fabulous. I can't wait to go back!!! :goodvibes

You mean like when you open your door and step outside, you immediately start to glisten and your hair starts frizzing out like Monica's did on the Friends episode? I know that humidity! :scared:

I remember when I went to Vegas a couple of times. I kept hearing about how it was a dry heat. The temps were way up there, about 100 degrees. It was true that you didn't immediately start to melt when you went outside, but after a while, you did feel those temps. I did get hot, but it is a different kind of hot.

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and surviived the heat. Happy July everyone!! You know what that means......we are all one month closer to our next Disney trip!!!!!!!!!!

:cool1:

After seeing half of the Indiana Jones show we moved on. DS13 and I hadn't been on Star Tours yet. I could have done without, but the kids thought we should all ride together!

Next we headed over to Animation Courtyard. I mentioned the Little Mermaid, but it was a no-go! But I stopped and had a little laugh just looking at the LM attraction thinking about something Rinky had just said about it in her TR shortly before I left. (I'll let her fill you all in on that one if she wants!)

So we just wandered around there and went into the shops.

After that everyone was ready to get going. It was getting crowded, it was HOT out once again, and we just wanted to get back to an air conditioned room! So we shopped a little on the way out and headed back to the boat dock.

We stopped for a quick family pic in front of the hat and then we left.

We went out to the boat dock and saw this little guy.

Then we saw this boat headed towards us and were thrilled to not to have to wait on a boat.

But then the CM got out of the boat and said this was a training boat and that another boat would be coming in about 10 minutes. The crowd let out a big sigh!! But another boat did come along in about 10 minutes or so and we were on our way back to the BC.

We went back to our room & balcony not being cleaned another time. I only know this now because this is where I took some of those nasty pics. But I won't re-post them or dwell on that, because I already told that whole story.

So we rested a bit in the room and then got ready for dinner.

Up Next: Big River Grille

It's a great place to eat! It's also fun to look around the Beach Club...so beautiful!

Thanks so much again friends! I love the advice! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hijack Shelly!

Did you like Star Tours Shelly? I haven't ridden since the update but the last time I got really motion sick. Ugh.

Rinky, I must know this Little Mermaid story!!! :yay:

I can just imagine the sighs when you found out it was just a training boat. lol!

Yeah, pretty much like that!! :scared1:

I can't wait to go out west and see what this dry heat is all about! :confused3:rotfl:

Hijack away!! We're here to help! :goodvibes

I like it. I don't love it or have to ride it! :rotfl: It's pretty neat now that it's in 3D.

Yeah, it was so hot and there was a pretty decent size line for the boat and then that guy says it's a training boat!!:mad::upsidedow:laughing:

OK, now you are getting us all very curious! We need to hear the LM story.

Hellloooo......Rinky?? You gotta tell us!

Great pic of y'all in front of the hat. :thumbsup2 You can't tell from the pic how hot you must have been. No glistening or dripping sweat! :scared:

Cute hat pics of the boys, too!

Guess Rinky isn't around to tell us the story today. Oh well, maybe tomorrow....:rolleyes1

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm glad we stopped for that picture, I think it's about the only decent family shot we got all week! Glad you can't tell I was *glistening*. :rotfl:

I leave for a couple of days and come back to everyone talking about me! :snooty:

We had some of that bad weather come through here and got a pretty rough hail storm out of it. Trees are down everywhere and they have JUST gotten the power back on to everyone. You should be thankful that you decided not to move here. We have been in a weather pattern from Hell lately! :sad2:

------------------

I don't think I could handle a ride on Star Tours in that kind of heat. I don't blame you for not wanting to ride. And boy do I know all about getting your hopes up for a boat only to have it dashed.

Well, I must say that I really wish Shelly had thought about me for a nicer memory than the one from the LM... :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

But if you really want to read about my traumatic experience, you can find it here just after the Toy Story pictures....

Kelli, I think you've already read about it but it has taken me so long to finish my TR that you've probably forgotten. :rolleyes1

You all have a good laugh at my expense now...

:lmao:

Yeah Rinky's here!! :yay: I've felt so alone here this week. I think only Kelli, Teri, and now you have been here. It's like a ghost-town in here!! Everyone must be on vacation!:upsidedow

Sorry you got caught up in that bad weather!! :scared1: I don't think they got any of that in Charlotte (where we would have been), other than some extreme heat. We just got a little thunderstorm here, but it's passing already. We need the rain. And that is rare for someone from western PA to say that!!

I just went back and read your LM story again. It's even funnier the second time around!! :lmao::rotfl2:
