Tried To Make March 09 Adrs - Told No

I tried to call and make some ADRs for our trip in March 2009 and was told that they are only take reservations up until November and then in November they are getting an "upgrade" to their reservation system so they will not be taking any new reservations from Nov forward until November.....how busy do you think the phones will be then!!!

Surely there is another way to secure Le Cellier and some of the popular spots!!!!

They are currently upgrading the ADR system.

Currently you can make ADR's for Chef Mickey, Victoria & Albert's and Cinderella's Royal Table at the 180 day mark.

For anything else you can make ADR's up through February 22.

On November 21 they will reopen the ADR system back to 180 days. That means that the window will open up from February 23 - May 20 on that day.

After November 21 it should be business as usual, which means the 180 day rule (ie Regular Rules) will apply from that time forward.

I'm not looking forward to the craziness on 11/21. Our trip is May 1-8, so orginally (when the ressies were supposed to reopen in Oct.) we were fine. Now, unfortunately we fall in that window. We want to do both CM and CRT, so I'll be calling early November for that. Then I'll have to call back 11/21 for Kona, Mama Melrose (Fantasmic pkg), Crystal Palace and LeCellier. We're also doing T-Rex, but it sounds like I might need to call back in Jan. for that. I'm most nervous about getting the MM pkg. and LeCellier on such a busy phone day.

I dread Nov. 21~ We will be driving to DW for MVMCP that day. I guess I will have to get up really early and call while we are getting ready to leave. We are driving 1/2 way and stopping in Valdosta, GA on the 20st. So on the 21st, we will be traveling. I will just have to get myself on the right time zone so I can be ready to call at 7 AM that day!! Those poor CM's!!!

1) There will be so many calling, a tin-can-and-string might be the best bet.

Curious about this as well. Am I going to have to call on separate days for CM and CRT? This could be a lot of calling (one for CM, one for CRT, one for other ADR's, one for T-Rex next year). Glad I have unlimited long distance!! I don't change our ressies, so I'm used to just 1 call!

To answer the question regarding the "180 day plus 10" policy, yes it will still apply during the transition.

I called on Friday, 180 days from our hotel reservation starting 3/18/09. While initially the cast member told me I had to call back for my 3/25/09 CRT ADR, once I "reminded" her of the "180 day plus 10" policy, she quickly changed her tune and allowed me to book the ADRs (for CRT and CM) that were within the 190 day time frame from check-in. It made me, once again, so glad that I stumbled on this site 2 years ago! DIS ROCKS!!!

PS I was able to make CRT and CM(2 dates) and had plenty of times to pick from. I doubt many guests outside of this board are aware they are still taking ADRs for CRT, CM and V&A.

Good luck to everyone...better get your dialing fingers ready for 11/21!!!

Thanks PK!! So maybe there is a little benefit to all this confusion - if it's somewhat easier to get CRT/CM, that will counteract the craziness of 11/21!!!

I would think it's possible that you'll need to take the whole day off. I remember stories of people sitting on hold for hours when the announce free dining. I can't imagine the rush that it'll be when they open up ADR's for everyone arriving for three months.

They should stagger it really when it starts back up again. Make it a little easier. We are in this twilight zone too and I am not looking forward to it at all!! I'm nervous anyway with phoning from the UK and sometimes having CM's who don't understand me!!!

Everything until 2/22/09. CM, CRT and VA can be 180 days out.

7 AM EST, I believe. I remember getting up at 6 AM CST to make ADR's for our last trip.
