Ok, I signed up for Treasure Trooper and I already have a good amount of money in my account since Fri and I just wanted to know is there a catch to this? I have always been taught that if it sounds too good to be true then it is. Has anyone actually gotten a check here? I have read the boards and seen copies of the checks, but I trust you guys on this board a lot more. Can someone tell me if it is legit? or if you had a trouble. I have done a few free trials and I worry about using my credit card, but I am ok with doing so if it makes some money. Thanks for any help...

I don't sign up for any survey/product testing/paid click sites unless I research them first and they have good reputations. This one seems very legit, but I only joined on Thursday so I don't have any checks in hand yet to verify for certain.

Since Thursday I've made close to $100 from this site without too much effort. I only did a few offers that required a credit card, just to see if they would actually cancel without hassle. So far they have. I may do more credit card offers in the future. Just be sure to get a cancellation confirmation number for each one.

I joined in April and got a payment in May. I have to say that I haven't been back to the site because about 70% of the offers do not approve even if you follow the directions and clear cookies, use different e-mails etc. Some offers I did 2-3 times the same way before they finally approved. A little bit of a waste of time for me. I only do the free ones and not the ones that required a cc#. I did make about 18.00. At the time it went right into my paypal account. I hear they are doing checks now. you can make more if you do the offers that require a cc. So if you have the time and the credit card, yes you can make money and yes they do pay out.

I've had more than 50% of the offers approve within 2 days. Supposedly it can take up to 2 weeeks, but even if my success rate is only 50% it's worth it to me. It takes less than one minute to input the necessary data for a typical $.50 click, so even if only half of them approve it's worth it to me since I only do it for "entertainment" while I'm bored. Many people are probably filling out a lot more on these "surveys" than they need to. Most of the $.50 surveys (the ones like "Free iPod") are just a series of "do you want to try" questions. They give them to you one at a time, but the "No" button is almost always in the same place. Just rapid click on NO and stop when the screen comes up with like 30 offers at once. You don't have to do that screen at all...just close the browser and you're done.

For the "surveys" which are a little longer (normally $.60 to $1.00) you'll get something that looks a little more like a normal survey format. These ones take about 1-3 minutes each, as long as you don't actually read the questions. For this type survey, be sure to only fill in the items marked with an asterisk...the other questions are all optional. Every time you see the asterisk, fill in N/A, NONE, DON'T USE, etc. That will ensure that you get no "extra" questions.

Sometimes you'll get a survey where they insist that you choose at least one offer. Generally you can select an offer, but not actually fill out that offer form and you'll still get your credit.

Install google toolbar on your computer and use the auto-fill feature. This will save you the effort of having to type in an email address, name, etc. Be sure to use a spam email account for all offers.

The other thing I forgot to mention about Treasure Trooper is that it has the best referral program of any I've seen so far. You get 20% referral commision on everything earned by your referrals. You also get a 5% referral commision on all earnings from everybody who is referred by one of your referrals (second tier referrals). I only joined 3 days ago. I have 6 referrals so far (plus one second tier referral) and I've already earned over $15 in referral commissions from those people.

Another cool thing about this site is that you can play a "pearl game" after you complete each offer. If you find a pearl, it will appear in your account after the offer is approved. Once you have 8 pearls you can use them to "buy" two free referrals (you get automatic credit for the next two people who sign up unreferred). That's how I've gotten two of my 6 referrals and I'm close to having enough pearls to buy another two referrals.

If you have some sort avenue to generate the referrals, the referral money can really add up.

For anyone wary of signing up for offers. . . go to to www.ratetheoffers.com

They have just about every offer that's commonly used on rewards programs (either cash or prize programs) and people will rate and then post their personal experience. I don't think any offer has a perfect reputation, but the best ones I've noticed that the "bad" votes people turn around and post how they screwed up, not the company.

I can't get into ratetheoffer, but there are some other good site out there which I'm sure are along the same lines. I've used http://www.surveypolice.com/index.php
http://freepaidsurveys.net/
and a few others which I can't think of right now.

I also do a general google search before I sign up for a new site. That's how I normally get my best info because it shows me hits to posts people have made in various forums.

Just a reminder to all Budget Board Members: Asking for referrals, adding referral links to your posts or asking people to PM you for a referral for rewards programs is not permitted on the DIS. However, posting a link to one of your favorite programs (without the referral code) or explaining the "ins" and "outs" of them is permissible. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
