Anyone have any experience with excursions at Nassau with 11 year olds?

We'll take our first cruise, the 4 night on the Wonder, in Aug! I have booked the Dolphin Swim in Nassau and am soooo excited about it (and am working like a dog to try to pay for it! ;) ) I also would like to see the Atlantis resort, just walk around and see the sights, not any excursions.

Pea-n-Me: Thank you for the insight into Nassau. I hate to give up a day of activities aboard the ship but this is not likely to be a trip we'll repeat anytime soon (if ever) and DH and I figure why not see + experience it all as long as we're there? We may form the same opinion but I guess I'm willing to find out firsthand. I've heard both negative and positive reviews so I'm hoping we can post a positive one! ;)

We just returned last week from our first trip to WDW without a stroller. My twins turned 4 in October. The last couple of days they were pretty tired and I considered renting a stroller, but my dh was so happy not dealing with parking and finding the stroller later that we ended up just having them walk. To their credit, they never complained or asked to be carried. I was actually pretty impressed. :thumbsup2

Our first trip was when the twins were 5 and I thought there would be no need for a stroller (we actually stopped using one when they were 18 months because they wouldn't stay in it!). They had no problem at the Studios or MK but AK and Epcot were so vast that we regretted terribly not renting one (and paid the price when DS had a major meltdown at the very far end of World Showcase! Carried him kicking and screaming all the way out to the parking lot!! :scared: ). If you're spending a lot of time in either of those larger parks, it is well worth the stroller even for the bigger kids!

Just wanted to share my excitement. I now have "almost twin" grandbabies. My twin boys were born 27 years ago and now both of my daughters had babies 3 weeks ago. The babies were born 45 1/2 hours apart! The best part is that both of my daughters and their babies live on the same block with me and I get lots of time with my babies. One is a boy and one is a girl. I am truly blessed. These are actually grandbabies 6 & 7 for us! I can't wait to take them all to Disney World!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was glad to see this thread. I have twin boys. They are four. We will be going in November.

Karla,

Congrats on your new grandbabies. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone has sent my way. Most of Feb. I was sick with some asthma and sinus infection. But the babies are doing great. Ultrasound put them around 4 lbs. each and I just completed 33 wks.

We are planning a trip for the 6 of us next March to celebrate the 1st set of twins 7th bday.

BTW we rented a stroller for our kids (then 5 1/2) in October. It was worth it. They would have been too tired otherwise. But once we go to the parks we go until late in the evening so we are sometimes going for 10 hours.

WOW! GGG triplets!! We have a mix - and although I love all of my kids, I can't imagine what pops up when all three are the same gender. Ours will be 3 in May. Is it getting easier now that they are 4? I have heard 4 is the magic number.

4 has not been easy for our twins. The fighting is amazing. Although, most of it is instigated by the girl. Our preschool teacher says all the girls at this age are getting a mean streak. Maybe it's just a girl thing. I have to say, I thought 3, 4 and 5 were nice with my older one. The attitude started at 6 1/2. Only a couple more years and I will have 2 at the same time with that attitude. :scared1:

HI,

Everyone, getting ready to go to WDW next week. Hope all is well with everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin

Hey everyone glad to see this thread is alive and kicking!

Got back Sat after 7 days on the Magic. Didn't get to dock at Grand Cayman, so we got an extra day at sea. Twins turned 14 on the cruise. Can't believe they are going to high school next year, and our youngest will start middle school. For those of you with younger children, the time really does fly, so cherish every minute now!

Spent the Friday before the cruise at BCV. First time staying there, so it was a nice change. Was rather freaky to be watching the Weather Channel with live pictures from our home town, Gurnee, as the snow was piling up! Was so thankful that we had flown out Thursday night. Was somewhat surreal to be watching live pictures that were being taken two miles from our house while we were in WDW.

As always, the magic was alive at Disney. Had a couple of glitches on the cruise, but they were handled and all was well.

Hope everyone is finally starting to enjoy some nice weather.

I whole heartedly agree with that statement. I keep looking at my grandkids thinking "MY KIDS SHOULD BE THIS AGE....Not my grandkids". Take your own words seriously too...even though High School age kids can be challenging at times, enjoy those moments also. When you blink next time they will be graduating and moving away!

Hope everyone is doing well. We are sure looking forward to spring...this winter has been really looooonnnngggg!

Just a quick hi and a note to let you all know that we have officially survived 3 years with our kids. :rotfl2: It really is a matter of survival! My babies are getting so big. I can't believe they are 3.

How is everyone?

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are well busy with end of the year school stuff. But good.. Howa are you. Where does the time go I can not believe mine are six already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - 3! My twins are turning ONE in less than a month! Can't believe it. We are eagerly planning their first trip for October, cannot wait!!

Hi All! :wave2: Glad to see people are well and surviving those tough early years!

My two are 10, will be turning 11 in the fall. It's amazing, when I think of how hard those early years were, and now I'm beginning to think how in a few years they'll be leaving home! I guess it's just seeing other friends' and familys' kids graduating, having boyfriends, etc, just brings it all close to home. Time sure does go by fast, doesn't it?

At any rate, we're staying busy. Had great trips last summer and winter, now settling in for a while to keep plugging away at some home renovations. Looking forward to summer!

We are currently planning our next trip in December:thumbsup2 It will be our first during all the beautiful decorations. The twins will be 2 months shy of 3 and our oldest will be 9. Really am looking forward to the trip. Last trip with the twins was awesome, but a trip w/o bottles will be nice:rotfl2:

Hello all! My twins turn 4 Saturday(the 17th). I cant believe it! seems just like yesterday I was waddling around everywhere I went when I wasnt suppost to be out of bed! lol! so how do I add my info to the list?

Welcome:

You have made it through the most difficult twin years (until you hit teenage years!!!) :thumbsup2 If you just list your info on a post Kristin (Kritter) will add it to the front page.

I'm excited. We have booked a trip in September to bring our 2 4yr old granddaughters. This will be their first trip to WDW and one of them is a HUGE HUGE Disney fan. (They are the daughters of our twin sons).

FINALLY the weather in Kansas has warmed up enough to feel like we are in Springtime. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend here. I'm sure ready for summer. Hope all of you have fun summer plans!

No kidding - the middle school years are no picnic! Where the first year is physically exhausting, this is emotionally demanding. My girls just turned 13, and it is an adventure. While I love who they are as individuals, the drama of middle school is overwhelming.

Karla, do each of your twin sons have a 4 year old? Or does one of your twin sons have twins also?
