Travel time from WBC to Universal

I'm new to these boards, so please feel free to move this if I have posted in the wrong place.

My family and I are regular Disney folks and have never been to Universal in Orlando. We are planning on staying at WBC and traveling to Universal but my husband is concerned about traffic on I-4 in the morning. What is the drive north from WBC like in the morning? Should we try to find a closer place?

If the drive is terrible, could someone let me know a condo/suite resort that has a waterpark/lazy river?

We are used to staying in the Formosa Gardens area and just really aren't familiar with the rest of Orlando.
