Hi I was hoping for some input from UK DISers regarding medications for travel sickness. I suffer quite badly (can't travel in the back of the car for example - I even did a sky dive and was sick!). The US sites seem to swear by Bonine? Any advice as to what's available in the UK and works for people? I realise everyone is different but your experiences would be appreciated. I've seen patches you can buy but I'm a bit reluctant to buy meds online and I've also read tales of hallucinations which put me off a little!! My youngest is tall enough this time to go on some of the bigger rides so my excuse to stay off them has gone! Plus I really want to join in with the family!

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Cheryl

Hi, All of my 3 children suffer with travel sickness, my eldest - 17, takes Kwells (one small tablet every 6 hours) an my 2 boys 12 and 8 take Travelease jellies as they won't swallow tablets (these last 24 hours). Both available from Boots, since taking these no-one has been sick at all! after bumpy plane rides, coach journeys etc.

I bought some motion sickness pills in the US last year. I think it was Bonnie,

I felt rather floaty after taking them... But I also had really bad flu at the time. It was making me feel really sick on rides.

But they did help the motion sickness.
My OH didn't like taking them due to the side affects though.

We all use Travelease and have no problems

My daughters use joyriders which work great but they don't like the taste so I've just purchased the Travelease jellies - do you boys like them?

They use to have joyrides-and hated them....Travelease are chewy strawberry flavoured jellies and they actually like them. They smell really nice too. X

Brilliant - and they last 24 hours so no worrying about return journeys etc

We need to plan a decent day out now to test them before October!

Perhaps this calls for Fish and chips at the coast at the weekend! :rotfl:
