I don't blame Disney Cm's, I blame lazy park guests. On my last trip, I stood near a garbage can waiting for the fireworks. Lots of people walked by and just threw their trash on top of the can instead of placing their trash into the can. There was plenty of room in the can, the people were just too lazy to push the trash door in. And then it got worst because then the next visitors assumed the can was full and just kept piling crap on top of the can. In a matter of minutes the once clean area was a now a mess.
So yeah I don't blame Disney, the economy, or CM's. It is simply the park guests.
People are slobs. We arrived at the MK after Spectra Magic one night and there was garbage everywhere, we literally had to step over it. Seriously how hard is it to walk a few feet to the next empty trash can or pick your trash up after watching the parade?
As someone who lives within 30-40 mins of Disney and go several times a month, I can say that I have seen my share of overflowing trash cans and dirty bathrooms. But I don't believe it is ALL Disney's fault, at least the bathroom isn't really their fault... people need to learn to clean up after themselves in there.
It can happen and in cases like at Big Thunder, while CM's have their rounds, if Guests constantly put trash somewhere and no one reports it then it may be awhile before it's taken care of. There are not enough CM's to sweep every line every half hour or so. My advice, if you are Guest and see something like this, please inform a CM so that they can call it in and get it taken care of.
I agree wholeheartedly. I did tell them, and since it was closing I guess it was cleaned right up (I just kept seeing different bottles in different places each time, and each time told them). I know it's definitely NOT the CMs fault, and agree with other posters that it's lazy guests who can't hold their trash until the next trashcan, which is always super close! I'll just never understand some people. At least I do my part by taking my trash to its proper waste placement area, like cardboard trays, etc.
I noticed that at the end of day the parks looked worn out, but when you consider that tens of thousands of people have passed through, it can be expected. They are always clean at rope drop. A PP is right about lazy, sloppy guests not cleaning up after themselves. I also think we expect more from Disney then any other establishment.

If I were standing there waiting, I'd have just thrown it in the can myself so I wouldn't have to look at it.
Next to the trash cans is a good place for Wishes. Gives you something to lean on after a long day and keeps people from bumping into you (on one side anyway).
