Trash and Towel Day

We’re here right now staying at AKV Jambo. When we’ve stayed a week or more, our trash and towel day has usually been on the 4th day. But we are only staying 6 days this time. It used to be spelled out on our reservation, but the one that was emailed to me didn’t mention an actual date only the standard 4th day line. But I also remember at one time splitting the short stays and giving you your trash and towel day in this case on the 3rd day. So when my wife asked me the morning of the 3rd day, are we having trash and towel day today, I gave her the company line and said no, the literature says the 4th day. She likes to know ahead of time to tuck away things and straighten up. I don’t know why. So we got back the afternoon of the 3rd day only to find that we had just had our trash and towel day. And yes it was my fault for giving her bad info. Well at least we could relax now. Well….until we got back on the afternoon of the 4th day and saw we had another trash and towel day. Ok, just a freak thing I’m sure. Well….until we got back on the afternoon of the 5th day and saw we had another trash and towel day. So I think I now know the definitive answer when my wife asks me on shorter stays what day is our trash and towel day. It’s just about every day.

Well, you got a bonus then, if you didn't pay to have extra trash/towel days. It IS supposed to be the 4th day, with the day of check-in being Day 1.

Less than 8 days, TT on day 4 with check in being day 1. 8 days or longer, full clean on day 4 and TT on day 8.

In reality most of the CMs are confused, even the Managers. We normally just keep the DND sign on the door, take out our own trash and call Mousekeeping if we need a clean or extra supplies.

Eight NIGHTS or more, you get full cleaning day 4, trash and towel on day 8. Less than eight NIGHTS, you get trash and towel on day 4.

Eight days is only seven nights.

At least you got a T&T day! On our 5 day stay at SSR we didn't get ANY t&t service.

I think some of the CM are new, or just really confused. Or perhaps their daily paperwork is wrong.

During our last trip (BCV), we had a full cleaning on a day when we were expecting nothing. Then the next day we had T&T service. We were not charged...not sure why it happened.

I'm jealous of you. When I was at Jambo house a few weeks ago, I returned on my 4th day to no Trash and Towel service. So I called housekeeping and the woman on the phone told me that I checked in on Monday and not Sunday. I politely corrected her and told I have been here since Sunday the 8th but she just kept insisting I didn't check in until the 9th. I started to think maybe they should refund my points for that first night if I wasn't actually there! Then she wanted to send someone up at 11pm at night while my son was asleep to do it. No thanks, tomorrow is fine just bring me some towels.

So I envy you!!! I hope you enjoyed it!

You can have the T&T day at anytime; just call mousekeeping and schedule it. If you prefer it on the trip's midpoint, let them know. Works for us.
