Transportation question from MCO to OKW

We will be driving to OKW this weekend, arriving early in the morning and checking in. One of our party is arriving by plane later in the evening. What are the transportation options to OKW for him (~9:30-10pm). Is the old Mears shuttle (I have never used them) still an option and how would you use them? Or is the Disney shuttle (free) an option? He is listed on the reservation, but at that time we did not anticipate him flying. A taxi I guess is possible but not sure about the price. We would rather not have to drive out and back to get him, but can use that option as a last resort. I guess a Towncar would be too costly for one person. Any help?

Thanks :cool1:

Call Magical Express directly today! at (866) 599-0951 and make him a reservation. Give them his flight information, and your resort reservation #. Although if you are staying on DVC points, you may have to call DVC member services. (Just please confirm with ME directly afterwards to make sure the information transferred over.)

Obviously he won't get luggage tags, but he can claim his bags himself OR give Magical Express his checked luggage claim slips and they will still retrieve his bags.

If you don't call ahead of time, he can claim his luggage, go to the Mears desk, and purchase a one-way trip and then will probably be transported on a Magical Express bus anyway.

To arrange his trip home, just go to your resort guest services and make the reservation at least the day before he goes home.

Thanks. I was able to finally get through to MS. They said to just have him check in at DME desk with his luggage, tell them where he is going (OKW) and enjoy the ride.

This will help alot. Thanks Disney!

Caution: You may not simply show up at the Magical Express welcoming area. You need to at least be assured an advance reservation was made and it is a good idea to get the name of a person you talked to on the phone (may require another call).

If a limo driver reports that an admitted walk up guest got a free ME ride, at least one person connected with ME gets an infraction on his record.

>>> anticipate him flying
If he can get as far as MCO in any fashion then he can ride ME.

I have found it frustrating and time consuming to go with these "bus systems". I prefer the local transportation companies and it is so well worth it. I would much rather be spending that much extra time having fun on my vacation than waiting through all that mess. I only paid $90 for private transportation for my whole family from the airport to Disney AND back to the airport. It was on MY schedule and picked up with door to door service. I feel that vacations are short enough already, why waste time in lines and waiting for the bus to fill up? I used a great company last time I went to Disney and I found them online, it was very easy and took no time at all. I came across the site TropicanaTransport and would recommend them to anybody.
That's my opinion.
