Planning on first trip to Disneyland in November. Do I need a rental car if planning to stay in a Disney hotel? Any Disney transportation from airport to hotels like in Orlando?

thanks

Unless you are planning side trips to the beach, Universal Studios, Hollywood, etc. you don't need a rental. Besides the 3 onsite hotels there are also many hotels within easy walking distance-- some on Harbor Blvd are actually closer than Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier. There is no Disney owned or free transportation to/from the hotels, although there is the Disneyland Resort Express from LAX and SNA, which is run by Grayline, and it's a nice option though a little spendy. You can take a Super Shuttle; with discount codes online you can get it down to around $8-10 for a shared ride, each way. Taxis are available, can be spendy, again. There are private car services that come highly recommended here. Many people are now opting for Uber, which seems to be great for convenience and price-- again, you can get a "first time user" discount a week before you go and get 1-way for $15-20 depending on what size car you need.
Hope that helps!

No you do not need a car. No there is no Disney transportation like the ME at WDW. There are too many airports in SoCal (6 that feed DLR) and not enough tourists.

Here are some options for transportation:

Don't rent a car if your whole stay will be at Dland. You will be paying for your rental car and also (if staying onsite) paying a daily fee to park it. If you have a big family or a large group, taking a shuttle may be more expensive than taking Uber XL. You can get a price estimate by going on Uber and checking what it might be from point to point (will depend on pricing at your time of arrival.)
