Transport from I Drive

We went Oct last year, stayed in the QII on I Drive with no car. My husband doesnt drive, so it would have been down to me. We had two kids with us, but they are a bit older (11 and 8).

The QII provided buses for Universal, and we took advantage of both there and back. The bus does stop off at other hotels for pick-ups but it didnt bother us! I wasnt driving!

Getting to WDW was a bit trickier, the I-Ride to Seaworld, then catching the Lynx 50, which is fine if you're heading to Epcot or MK as you can just jump on the monorail but for the other theme parks you need to wait at the TTC for another Disney bus. Getting to TL was bad: - I Ride to Seaworld, Wait for the No 50, Change at TTC for a Disney Resort Hotel, wait at Disney Resort Hotel for a TL/DTD bus - took about 2 hours!! So next time, we'll catch a taxi! No problem! We learn by our mistakes. We caught taxis back from WDW at about 30$. Far cheaper than insurance and car hire!! The taxis we caught tended to be 7 seaters anyway, so with your family it will cost roughly the same.

We will go back. (Havent booked anything yet but we WILL go back)!!!

And we wont drive.

You'll be absolutely fine.

Thanks Loraine

I think we will also get Taxis for getting back to I Drive. There will 6 of us but with 2 little ones, waiting around and long bus rides back to hotel will be a pain :confused3

Thanks for your help :goodvibes

I couldn't agree with you more,
We've never driven and like you have learnt by our mistakes but now we know exactly when and how we get to each resort and the method of transport needed. We spend a lot of money on taxis, limos and so on but we still save on what we would spend on hiring a car.
I really can't understand why people insist on telling people that it's so much better to have your own transport. Unless you have a villa it is really easy to have a fantastic time without a car.

Now I'll just stand back and wait for some smart alec to tell me that I can't do this or I can't do that but before they do I will answer it simply by saying that if I thought I needed a car to have a great time in Orlando I'd hire one. :earboy2:

i agree entirely i dont drive whilst im there,if it was a problem i would hire a car but i have never found it to be,i think its great to be chauffered around, and the cost of taxis is not that bad certainly cheaper than the car insurance.

have a great time :hourglass :bounce:
