Hey Everyone, I am quite new on here and just have a few questions:

My family and I will be sailing the Magic in a couple weeks and we will be staying at the Hyatt the night before and I was just wondering how the DCL transfers work.

1) What time does the first shuttle to the port depart? We want to make sure we are there right away!:cool1:

2) Do you sign up at the hotel to get on the first shuttle or do you have to get down to the main lobby to ensure getting on the first shuttle? If this is so what time do you normally get down to the main lobby to ensure you are on the first shuttle?

Thanks in advance!!

1) What time does the first shuttle to the port depart? We want to make sure we are there right away!:cool1: When we were there last July, the first shuttle from MCO departed at 9:50am, we were on the second shuttle that departed around 10:15. We were still among the first to board the Wonder ... if I remember, we were on the ship by 12:05pm.

2) Do you sign up at the hotel to get on the first shuttle or do you have to get down to the main lobby to ensure getting on the first shuttle? If this is so what time do you normally get down to the main lobby to ensure you are on the first shuttle? When we were there, we purchased the cruise transfers at 9:00am the morning of departure from DCL reps in the Hyatt lobby. The DCL reps told us we had to meet back in the lobby at 9:30am to head down to the shuttle que. That was kind of stupid ... we didn't end up at the shuttle que until 9:40 or so and missed the first bus. I think you will probably be on the first shuttle if you get down to the que between 9-9:30am. But, like I said before, we were still among the first to board the ship even though we didn't make the first shuttle.

Thanks in advance!!

:)

If you purchase the transfers in advance of your arrival to the MCO Hyatt (call DCL) you wil be among the first to leave at approx 9:15am. If you wait until you arrive at the Hyatt to purchase transfers you will not leave as early.
Purchasing transfers in advance saves time.

Tip: If you request an outside room at the Hyatt facing the runway you can use your balcony for fresh air instead of an inside room staring down at the airport lobby. The runway is far enough away that there isn't any noise from the planes.

Enjoy your vacation

Ok. I'm confused. I'm staying at the MCO Hyatt the night before my cruise and I've already purchased transfers. Do I actually go back down to the DCL counter at the airport (level 1, side B) the morning of my cruise or do we meet in the lobby of the hotel?

Do they pick up your luggage from your room? I've called DCL and DU and they both said to go to the airport counter but I thought I've heard differently here on DIS.

Yes we have purchased DCL Transfers already.. so does that automatically mean we get on the first bus transfer at 9:15 because we are staying at the Hyatt?

Yes, Hyatt guests who have purchased transfers in advance are the first to leave for the port. The hotel will give you printed DCL instructions when you checkin. The instructions pertain to luggage pick up from your room as well as when to meet DCL reps in the lobby. Not to worry, the system has been worked down to a science and it is a very smooth transition for Hyatt guests.

No...It is true that the Hyatt guests leave on early buses, but it does not guarantee that you will be on the first bus. Last month we stayed at the Hyatt prenight and had purchased DCL transfers in advance. We were in the Hyatt Lobby very early and were 2nd in line to check in for the bus but there many people also staying at the Hyatt that did not get on the first bus. There were about 3 buses that left from the Hyatt. We were on the first one that left at 9:30 and we were at the port by 10:15 ish. They were calling for the second bus as our group was going down to meet the first bus. It all depends how many DCL cruisers are staying at the Hyatt at any given night.

You check in in the conference room for the DCL bus (which is off the lobby) and then they ask you wait in the lobby and they put a sticker on you (to determine which bus you are on...we were on Captain Mickey bus). Then they call the different bus groups in order to go downstairs and meet the bus.

The Hyatt buses are completely separate from the regular DCL airport buses. They pick up in a different area.

Here is link to my pics from last month....the first few are of the Hyatt, the lobby and the bus outside the Hyatt.

Click on each photo and read the descriptions under them. I explain on the Hyatt ones a bit about the process.

We stayed at the Hyatt in November 07, when we went to catch the bus they walked us back through the airport and we caught the same buses that the folks that had not stayed at the Hyatt. Wonder if it's a capacity thing... not a big deal, the morning walk was... refreshing :goodvibes

Perhaps my post was misunderstood, I did not say "first bus". I'll try an rephrase to say "Hyatt guests are among the first to leave", naturally if one bus fills there will be another.

Mark, could you please tell me... I just booked the Hyatt the night before our cruise. When I booked I told them we were going a a Disney Cruise.. hmm he didn't seem to care. I explained about the agreement Hyatt & Disney has to p/u the luggage & the transfer. He didn't seem to know anything about it? Do I just tell them when we ck in? I'm alittle nervous!

TIA, Paula

You were probabaly booking through the general Hyatt reservations. They don't know specific policies or agreements for each hotel. You definitely want to tell them when you check in. They'll explain everything to you then.

I was quoting your response to this (his question).....where HE mentions the first bus, not you.. Your info was good!!:thumbsup2

Yes we have purchased DCL Transfers already.. so does that automatically mean we get on the first bus transfer at 9:15 because we are staying at the Hyatt?
