Transferring Points?????

Hi everyone,

I just read another post asking for a one point transfer. I never realized members were able to transfer points among themselves. I am two points short of a six night stay at BC. I will be able to make ressies tomorrow. Can someone please tell me how the transfers work? Do I have to have the points transferred before I call MS for reservations? This sounds a lot safer than renting points. I'd like to add the extra day if I can get 2 points from someone.

The points do have to be transferred into your account before you make the reservation. You can transfer either in or out (one or the other but not both) in a year any number of times.

One advantage of transferring is that if you only need two points and can find someone willing to transfer them to you, then it will cost you a lot less than renting at least one whole night from someone.

On the other hand and this relates to safety, in order to transfer points, you will have to provide someone with your Membership I.D. number. That opens your entire account up to someone you don't know.

I was told by MS today that my name and address were sufficeint for someone to transfer points into my account. BUt then again she also said with my 11 letter last name, I would be easy to find.

And I still need one current 2003 UY for our trip in Oct. I will be calling MS tomorrow to see if a current 2004 FEB uy point can be transfered. I found out Oct 2004 points cant work either... I suspect I may be outta luck. The point I need must come from a UY that hasnt occured yet, and be from 2003. ::::: SIGH ::::::

That's good to know. I transferred points into my account a year ago and did it on a conference call and had to give my membership number. If it can be done without, that would be great for all involved and I would change my answer to yes it would be a lot safer. Thanks Laura.
