I'm not comfortable giving out my member number, name, and address to a stranger to get points transferred into my account.

Does MS really need ALL of that for me to GET points? I'm not transferring points out....

HAs anyone done this? Thank you.

Name and member number should be all. They won't need your SSN.

I have transferred points to others and just got their member number and name. And yes they will need your member number because how else are they going to know what account to put it into?

ETA. I wanted the name as because MS can make mistakes when entering in member numbers, miss one number and the points could go into someone elses account. This way I can make sure they are going in the right place.

MS does need the info to do the transfer. If you feel more comfortable make the call doing a three way call.

Thank you. I don't mind name and member #, but that and my address is a little too personal for me.

Not trying to be smart just curious: what is your fear of giving out your address?
If you are concerned about fraud/identity theft, etc -- the less info you give out to anybody the better off you are. I certainly would not give out my home address to someone I didn't know unless it was absolutely necessary.

You're probably right but judging by the amount of junk mail I receive it must be easy to get my address:)
