Transfer of Points Question

Sorry if this has been asked and answered.....

If someone is looking to get rid of points via a transfer, say with a UY of March, and I "rent/buy" them and have them transferred into my account with a UY of August, do those March points become August UY points, thereby giving me 4 more months to use them? Also if the March points are for say BCV and my contract is for SSR, do those points become SSR or stay BCV?

Transferred points are supposed to retain their original Use Year and home resort status. Apparently, the current DVC database doesn't track that information effectively, so some have found they got some extra time from the points and even a change in resort status. DVC is aware of the situation and is reportedly working on correcting the problem, so it might be best not to count on those unwritten benefits remaining.

I thought it sounded like too good of a deal to be true, but one can always hope! Thanks again, I wanted to be sure before we do any transfers!
