Train STation close to port?

Can anyone answer this.....

We will be taking the train next year, is there a closer Amtrak station to the port then the Kissimee or Orlando stations? If so what is the name? Thanks so much!

Orlando or Sanford (Auto Train) is the closest I know of. Port Canaveral is on the coast, not near the House of Mouse.

If you want to be 100% positive call Amtrak, they should know for sure.

For regular passenger service (not AutoTrain), Orlando is the closest station. 54 miles.

I was not sure if there was a closer one. Guess we will have to stop at the world then first...(like I needed an excuse to stop there)

As I stated in another thread I rented a car at Orlando International airport from Avis.

We were spending a few days in WDW and then going on the Magic. Avis did not charge a drop-off fee for leaving the car at their Avis location in Port Canaveral.

Avis is the closest car rental location in Port Canaveral to the DCL terminal and they (as most car rental places in P.C.) have a shuttle service to the terminal.

You should be able to get a car near the Orlando train station and do the same. It is worth checking into it, because drop-off fees can really increase the rental car fee.

If we only plan on going on the cruise, do you think it is worth it to rent the car or would a car/van service be better? We have always driven down but after our trip in Aug we decided we had enough of being in the car for so long....and I am not thrilled about getting into an air plane.

If you are only going to the cruise (Port Canaveral) then a car service is the way to go.

We used one on two different occasions:

From PC to WDW - $110.00

From WDW to Orlando International - $61.00

Both times we rode in a black Lincoln Towncar. There we 3 adults and one 11 year old. My wife sat in the front with the driver and we sat in the back.
