Somthe event is a wine and cheese thing? Does it go by the 180 day rule fir dining?
We got one yesterday. The were limiting them to 200 per day. You have to stand in line to get a wrist band. They begin passing them out at 4. People were in line by 8am. However, my DH went around 3:15 and just barely made the cut.I don't think that have run out of mugs yet because they are limiting I believe to 200 per day.

I know! They had books and food with them and seemed completely content to make a day of it.Holy cow that is just craziness! I can't believe people spent an entire day in line!

So, is there a separate line for those who want to go for a drink starting at 4 PM? There is no event during my stay, or I would have registered immediately when the event opened for reservations. I still want to go to Trader Sam's for a drink and snack, and the other collectible drink glasses. The days I'm planning to go, we have dinner reservations around 6:30 PM so I'd like to be at TS by 3:30 or 4 PM to get in at 4 PM. I'm not willing to wait all day for the HM mug, though I can understand the desire to get one!
I've been to TS at DLR but keep missing it at WDW!

Not only waiting in line but in the heat! Seriously not being in the heat is well worth paying eBay prices.
There was not a separate line on Saturday. We were given the wristband and our name was put on a list and we were told to come back at 5:30 for a pager. We went back at 5:30 and were told to get in line again to get in. They were not using the list or pagers for anyone. Security had been called as there were some really angry people. Hopefully they will get their system straight quickly. It was a huge mess! That's a great question - I sincerely hope there is a separate line for those who want snacks/drinks. We were planning on doing that at least a few nights while we're there.
It didn't sound like the pagers were being handed out to the mug folks - someone mentioned wrist bands upthread.
Agreed! Soooo glad I pulled the trigger on eBay mugs this am.
So they did let you buy a mug at the event? (I was quite annoyed they were not available at the event I was at - other than to use.)So everyone that is considering doing stand by wait might want to avoid the 12th since the people in the event will have priority on the mugs making less than 200.

That is about 45 people Id guess.
They can only seat 51 - and they use the surfboard for the presentation so that blocks those seats out - so still 150 or so available.
Sounds like there will be many available on ebay in a few weeks - should be interesting how that changes the prices - what are we seeing them go for currently?
Not the listed price - but what are they actually selling for?
I see many of the ones you can walk in and buy any day for sale for crazy (IMO) prices on ebay.
Thanks - I did not catch that in your post - I'd guess they will be available for sale at all the Trader Sams events since they use it for one of the drinks - the disadvantage of going to the first one I guess.Yes we were able to buy some at the event as I wrote in my pp. Not everyone bought one. I haven't checked eBay because I already have the glass but I think pp is said it was going for $200.
I hardly doubt the prices will go down as the amounts are limited. That is what I saw with the jack mug from years past. Once they are sold out prices went up.

I assume they gave you the zombie head one as part of the event as well.
I did a quick look and the price is about 150 for "buy it now" - I do see one listed at 125 - but the shipping is 25 as well.
Several are on the start of an auction at around 100 - will be interested to see how that finishes.
I think over the next two weeks is probably the best chance to get one reasonably from those that want to turn them quickly at a quick profit.
At 100 I can see value since I did not have to wait in line for it - and my time is worth a lot more than that - especially when im on vacation
I will be in WDW the last week of October and am not scheduled for the behind the scenes event. I just enjoyed going to Trader Sam's and would like to go this visit and would love getting one of the Hitchhiking mugs. What do you think my chances are If I went on a Monday afternoon at about 4? Do they serve them if I'm seated on the patio? Is the behind the scenes event on every day? Sorry about all the questions.
