Tracey's wedding weight loss attempt (comments welcome & needed!!)

Just finished catching up on your journal. Sorry I have been away for so long. You and your DH have been really, really busy. I hope the weather improves soon so DH can get some nights at home. Your gym sound wonderful. I'm so glad that has worked out so well for you. Your food really has been good with only a few slip ups. I am another "no dip in the house" person. It is one of things I have no willpower against/for :confused3 . I loved the story about the dinner at Dbro's. That really sounded nice and a lot of fun too. It is great to spend time with family. Sorry about the attendance issues with Leanne. I think your reply is well done. For heaven sakes, you were getting married!!!

You are doing great WISH sis. Have a great weekend!

Oh and the ablation is totally worth it. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it.

Good evening wish buddies :goodvibes

School finished today, got a whole week off  :cool1: :woohoo:
I'm planning on sleeping a lot :)

We went to the movies (2 classes - 60 kids :scared1: ) Charlottes Web was good, but i dont like spiders & had to close my eyes a few times!!! Still it made me cry at the end :sad1:
I took some sugar free popcorn, trouble is it gives me really bad wind:rolleyes1 my stomach keeps making the most peculiar noises!! It does say on the packet if you eat too much it can cause a laxative effect :scared1:

Went to the gym again tonight, didnt want to as i have had a splitting headache all day, i think because TOM is approaching fast :sad2:
I havny managed to lose any weight which i am a bit dissapointed about, even though food hasnt been great its not been that bad either :confused3
I need on try on my 'thin' trousers to see how i feel! WI at gym on wednesday, the week before my friend & i were both 77.5kg's this week my friend was 77.4 & i was 77.6 (my friend is doing WW).

Today
b/fast - slice of soya & linseed bread with a teaspoon of strawberry jam, earl grey
snack - hot choc drink
lunch - soya & linseed sandwich with cheese & onion filler, yogurt, small choc bar
dinner - FISH & CHIP NIGHT :goodvibes
I think i will end up having some chocolate whilst watching american idol, thats another sign of TOM :sad2:

Off to watch AI now :happytv:

Hi Tracey,

No worries WISH sis. The scale will cooperate with you soon! Just keep on going to the gym and eating the best you can and the weight loss will follow. You are doing a GREAT job! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

My DDs want to see Charlotte's Web. I'm glad to hear that it was a good movie.:goodvibes

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Yea for getting a week off! Enjoy! I wouldn't worry about the .1kg. That could easily just be a scale variable or even the clothes you had on. Great job getting in the exercise even with the headache. How much water are you drinking? That really helps to "flush" away eating indescretions. Hopefully TOM shows up soon and the chocolate cravings can go away. Have a great weekend!

I loved Charlotte's Web too but must say Charlotte was very realistic looking. Templeton actually creeped me out more than the spider as I hate rodents (except for Minnie and Mickey of course ;) ) Enjoy your week off! You may not have lost weight since you have been working out so much. Muscle weighs more than fat and you have very likely gained some with all your hard work. A big loss will be yours very soon! So keep up the hard work, the scale will reward you for it!

Well its been one of those good news/bad news weekends again!!
basically all the good news is lots of exercise & the bad news is it was followed by lots of eating!!!
Read on....

Friday night i had my fish & chips (fries) followed by some chocolates, i felt really bad due to TOM awaiting to appear!! (did go to the gym before eating though!)

Saturday
no breakfast - too stuffed from night before!
lunch - cheese & ham roll, LARGE heart shaped scone (biscuit) filled with jam & cream & a yogurt

I then went to the gym, & they increased our workout. I did 7 mins on the stepper  tm is now at 3 mins walk on incline, 3 mins jog (flat) 3 mins incline, 3 mins jog & 3 mins incline total 15 mins I could only jog for 1 min on the 2nd time cos my calves killed!!! also x trainer time increased. I burnt a total of 550 cals  Couldnt swim cos TOM appeared i woke up with stomach cramps & felt like i wanted to hit someone, did feel a bit better after workout though!!
I then went home & had a frozen curry meal (107 carbs/799 cals :scared1: )& more chocolate :sad2:
dinner - chk tikka with rice, bombay potatoes & 1 garlic nam bread, 6 chocolates!!!!

Woke up this morning with a sore throat, bad head & TOM pains
no breakfast as i still felt like a baby whale from last night so i tell DH i want to go for a walk for exercise & to help clear my head.
We visit a local country park & we walked up a huge hill & back again :woohoo:
Then we went to a country pub for dinner :sad2:
I tryed to be good & ordered chk fillet salad with a baked potatoe, well when it came there was the potatoe in a seperate dish & a huge chk fillet with salad I was then told i could help myself at the sald bar too, so i had a spoon full of rice, garlic mushrooms, cheese & onion in mayo, coleslaw, some peppers & sweetcorn, with a diet coke!!! I was stuffed again!
So we went for another walk to a local site & climbed another hill to the highest point in Nottinghamshire & back down again!
Its now nearly 6pm & i'm still stuffed!!
Off to gym tomorrow
I will never loose any weight at this rate! Hopefully worst of TOM will be gone in the next couple of days!
I'm going to try & be good this week...wish there was a smilie with something crossed!
Hope everyone had a good weekend :)

Don't get down about the eating. You can blame TOM, we all do!! At least you are keeping up with your exercising, that has got to be counteracting most of the food you've been eating.

Hang in there, you will be able to get back on track soon. And look at how awesome you've been doing since you joined the new gym! Do you feel like you're in better shape? Are your clothes fitting better? Focus on the positive, there was lots of it this weekend!! :thumbsup2

Amy's right. You got tons of really good exercise this weekend with your gym workout and the great walks with DH. TOM just stinks. At least you are not loading up on chips and other empty calories. Most of what you ate was pretty healthy (and chocolate & TOM just go together!) Here's :wizard: that TOM goes away soon and you have a great week off this week!

I agree with Amy and Anna. You did quite a bit of exercise this weekend and I bet that does counteract the food. TOM is here for me too and I ate a lot of carbs this weekend. TOM can be so tough.... :(

I hope you are feeling better today so you can enjoy your week off from school!:woohoo:

Have a great Monday!

Chocolate and TOM with some carbs thrown in for good measure sounds about right. Hey does anybody notice our TOM's on this board are in sync by the way?? I agree with everyone, you are exercising a lot and with TOM its just a fact that you will eat more than usual. This is why women take much longer to lose weight than men. They have no TOM to contend with! Just hang in there, you will continue to lose weight, it just takes time. And committement. You have both so don't give up!!

:grouphug: Thanks wish buddies

Monday
went to the gym, burnt 700 cals :cool1:
& i managed to do the two 3 min runs on the tm
b/fast - croissant, earl grey
lunch - nothing too busy - went shopping :sad2:
dinner - small baked potato with chk & bacon filler & cheese on top, yogurt

The day flew, after the gym i went shopping to find some more gym clothes, ended up spending £75 ($150 - roughly!!) on clothes for DD & some tops for me (only 1 was for the gym!!) one top has a low back so i ended up going into town to find a backless bra to go under the top!! (another £18 - $35 spent) I then went to the supermarket for some food - only needed a few bits...spent another £40 ($80) :scared1: I'd left the house at 10.30am i got home at 4pm, thats why i didnt get lunch!!

Today
We went for another walk today with DB & family we walked up the hill again to the highest point in nottinghamshire, had a picnic at the top (quite mild today :)) in Februaury!! Thats a first - picnic in feb & it being mild!!! ;)
We then went back to DB house & watched the movie 'world trade centre' what can i say! So sad, makes you appreciate family though!
We then went out for dinner, wasnt any healthy choices :sad2:
b/fast - croissant, earl grey
lunch - picnic - low GI roll with ham & cheese on, bag of wheat crunchies, strawberries, grapes, diet coke
dinner - scampi & fries, glass of cider
Going to try & resist anything else now!!

Starting to feel human today, the headache is finally easing i've had it since Friday!!! & no sore throat for the 1st time today! Not sure if the headache was due to TOM or the sore throat...or both!!!

DD has hurt her arm, she came back from her dads on Sunday, said she fell on it at the park, it doesnt look swollen or bruised, but she is in quite a bit of pain, cant put a t-shirt on or completly straigten it, i dont know whether to take her to casulty or not, gonna see if it is any better tomorrow, she is ok, sleeping fine, had fun with her cousin today, oh what to do :confused3

Another stone has come out of my wedding ring :sad2:
This is the 2nd time its happened
It was my grandmothers & is about 60 years old, they added 3 new stones when i had it enlarged & its one of those ones that have come out again! None of the stones that have been in 60 years have come out!! Says a lot for todays craftmanship! & i cant find the reciept from last time, i know i saved it but i put it somewhere so safe i cant find it now!!! If i cant find the reciept i will have to pay...again :headache: & it means taking it off as they have to send it away & i hate not having it with me:sad1:
Heres a pic of my ring (& dh's!)

I'm so sorry about your ring--it's beautiful and I hope you're able to fix it.

Awesome work on the tm and all of the walking.

I love retail therapy. I can't quite justify buying new clothes right now, since I don't really leave the house LOL, but I'll have to soon, once summer gets here.

Keep up all the awesome work! And thanks for checking in on me :)

 Tracey,

I hope you are able to get the ring fixed soon. I remember when we were in WDW for our honeymoon, I looked down at my ring while we were at dinner and a diamond was missing! I was super upset until my DH reminded me that we had insurance on it and that we would take it back to the jeweler when we got back home.

Great job on all of your workouts and walking!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. You definitely don't want to be sick on your week off.:goodvibes

I hope Leanne's arm feels better soon.:wizard: Maybe if she takes some Tylenol and rests it for awhile with some ice or heat, it will feel better.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!:cool1:

I hope you find your stone. And your rings are really beautiful, that is so special about your grandmothers ring. Sounds like you had fun shopping. And I am so glad you are having nice weather during your week off. World Trade Center was wonderful, but so sad and intense, really quite difficult to watch. Glad the headache is gone!

Well i spoke to soon
woke up this morning & the bad head was back, along with congestion on my chest!! I just cant seem to shake it off!! Rang the doc got a double appointment this evening one for me & one for DD's arm!

Heres a pic from our walk yesterday, at the highest point in Notts, (DD is on the right with her cousin)

Will post food later!

Geez, not only do you torture me in my own journal, but I have to drool over the cheesecake picture here too? You're killing me!!!!

I hope the Dr appointments go well. It's always hard with the little ones, they are not too sure how to describe the pain, they just know something isn't right!

Nottinghamshire looks like Yeovil, where I have to go for work. So pretty and green!

Tracey -- So sorry Leanne's arm is bothering her. I hope it is nothing significant and just needs some coddling. I have had problems with stones falling out of one of my rings several times until the jeweler said they wouldn't be able to replace it again -- I had all the prongs re-built to hold the stones that kept falling out, but no luck. In my case, I had the ring converted to a small pendant for me to wear on my omega necklace, rather than to have a piece I couldn't wear. I am thinking that is probably not an option for you. ;)

So, how are your shins today? I am cross-posting my response to you in my journal about the possibility of shin splints and what my understanding is about them.
keenercam said:
Tracey -- I have heard a lot on this and will share my understanding. I believe shin splints result when you don't stretch enough before working out and when you try to go too fast or too far. If you were doing 6.4 you were doing sub-10 minute miles, which is extremely, extremely fast, especially for 3 minutes at a time. I really think you need to do some stretching before you run and you absolutely have to do a warm-up. I usually do 3-5 minutes at 4 mph if I am walking or 3-5 minutes of warm-up at 4.2 mph if I am going to be running. And you may want to slow down that pace a bit. I have been told that repeatedly subjecting yourself to shin splints can result in stress fractures, which will take you completely out of commission for quite a while. So, please be careful!

Good luck at the doctor's. I hope he gives you something for your congestion too. Anyone here with sinus difficulties is having a brutal time. Me included. :sad1:

That cheesecake looks fabulous! OMG! Who needs wedding cake, right? :)

Wow, Tracey! Looks like you've been busy working out while I've been gone!!

Hope Leann is ok & the arm isn't serious.

That Cheesecake is INCREDIBLE!!!! You torture us!!!

Where is that salivating smilie?:confused3 That cheesecake looks absolutely delicious!:cloud9:

I hope your doctors' appointments went well this evening. How are you both feeling?

Take extra special, good care of you.

Enough with the cheesecake you wicked girl! Omg, that looks good enough to lick the screen to get a taste. I love the picture, what a beautiful view. I hope the dr. goes well with Leann. That is always kind of nerve wracking, trying to figure out what is wrong. Hope your head is better and that your chest thing clears up! Hang in there:hug: .
