Toy Story 3 Characters

I just watched the trailer for Toy Story 3 and saw Lotso. I guess I have only seen the teaser trailer until today. Do you know who does the voice of Lotso? Also, does anyone know if they will still have Buzz and Woody out for meet and greets as well as Lightning McQueen during Star Wars Weekends?

Hi There, not sure about Lightning McQueen, but would imagine, I am sure Buzz and Woody will be out as they have their own meet and greet area over in Pixar Place, it is very cool.:thumbsup2

Was wondering if this is a new character for Toy Story 3?

Yes. "Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear"

Lotso is voiced by Ned Beatty-

Or as our pre-schooler calls him, "Huggy Bear!!!" And he says it with enthusiasm that warrants all those exclamation points. We visit the TS3 site daily, and check Amazon, Disney Store and Toys R Us for new toys. I anxiously await the release of the TS3 storybook on May 4 so that maybe - just maybe - I can divert his attention to the new book instead of repeatedly watching all the new characters "turn around" on the website. (That's more commonly known as the 360 view!) If anyone has any additional information about anything related to TS3, I would appreciate it!!

Cool what neat things have you found?? I can't wait to see what the parks have, their stuff to me is always so much cooler. :goodvibes

I know - the stuff in the parks is always so exciting - maybe because we know it's unique to the parks and reminds us of our trip!!

Anyway, so far Disney Store has huggy bear (sorry, can't resist using his words), stretch, and chunk plush and a great 13-piece playset with lots of the new characters! Toys R Us had a number of items billed as "TS3" but didn't really include many new characters. Amazon has a Toy Story Collection book (which is supposed to include Toy Story 3), a TS3 storybook with CD, 3-packs of characters, and three new lego sets featuring TS3 characters. They also had Mattel playsets that replicate movie scenes. On youtube, we found a video about TS3 at a toy fair, and they show many of these new toys. (John Lasseter, whom our pre-schooler recognizes and identifies by sight, is in the video.)

I know a Dis member named Brad knows a lot about this - I saw his posts on another thread - I bet he can provide much more information!!

Just from the clips/trailers I've seen so far, I'm betting that the other "breakout stars" from the new characters are going to be Ken and Trixie (the Triceratops). The down side is, Trixie doesn't really work as a "walk-around" character, and Mattel presumably controls the rights to Ken (even a Pixar-animated one). Mr. Pricklepants would make a cute "walk-around," but I don't know how significant he is in the movie.

Barbie used to have a show at WDW.

and yes, i've seen and played with many of the new TS3 toys, including the action link playsets from Mattel.

Are you able to comment further on the Mattel playsets??

umm, well, it's a cool concept, but some of the sets have a hair sensitive trigger so it's tough/frustrating setting up sometimes. at least for me.

what is cool though is that is that it's all non-electronic. no batteries required. a lot of people were comparing it to the board game mousetrap. there are several sets, like 5 or 6? at product launch. they're all a portion from the film, they feature mini-figs and they link together in any order to create a physical chain of events.

this is one of my photos of the sets I played with. at the time, there were a couple of sets not on display because they 'revealed' key plot points, but Mattel showed them all to me privately. Although to be honest, I should have paid more attention. I know one was Lotso and the dump truck, but not sure what the other set is. But i'm sure they're listed online by now anyway.

Thanks! We've seen some of the sets online, but wasn't sure about quality. This is absolutely the most detailed picture we've seen! Our boys are most interested in the new lego sets (especially the one with Lotso and the trash compactor), but for our pre-schooler, the legos fall apart so easily. So the Mattel sets may be a good alternative. Too bad the TS3 release doesn't coordinate better with his bday or Christmas!
