Trying to return to DLR in December…

I am trying to return to DLR once again for the holidays! One problem though… I have a lot of other windows to chop out. Apparently trying to get to there from AZ is a nightmare since I have some other members in my party that want to try heading to the Grand Canyon (which is honestly not that amazing in my view). One member though kind of leans in the same view as me… ITS TOO MUCH! I’m trying to keep it exclusively within SoCal as part of a DLR return, potentially in San Diego which I haven’t visited since 2013 and keep getting shut out of multiple times as of recent.

Let me know if there are any ideas or suggestions that could help aid in this setup. Thanks!

I'm a little unclear on what the dynamics are in this situation. Is your party your family? If so, are some of them kids? If not, are you all traveling together in the same vehicle or are you separate parties wanting to share a trip?

If you all have to stay together, then I say whoever originated/planned/arranged things should have the main say on what's involved and full say if that person is also paying for it. If someone wants to see the Grand Canyon (which I think ought to be seen at some point), they can do that another time or take their own car and go there first if they are driving separately.

I agree with you that tying too many things into one trip can lead to overload, not to mention extra expenses.

Another thing I do have to factor is that one of the fam members is not that keen with the altitude in the Grand Canyon. This is a factor that I am trying to use to ultimately remove the GC and eventually just shift exclusively to San Diego/DLR.
