Tower of Terror who likes or dislikes it

My DM and I love it! It's one of our favorites. One of my Dsis and her DD24, also love it. My other Dsis doesn't like it. My DD7 doesn't like it either. She has ridden the one at WDW once and DCA twice. The first time she rode she was about 6 (at WDW) I explained everything to her about the ride except for the fact that her butt would lift off the seat. She hated that part. At DCA she didn't like the fact that the ride basically starts off with the drops, with no time to prepare yourself. She said she likes the WDW one better. :cool1:

Before she rode it the first time I had to exit the ride, several times, at the last moment, since she changed her mind. She does love :cloud9: BTM, Space Mtn (DL current version-similar to RnR), Matterhorn, and Splash. She's not tall enough for RnR yet. She also now loves Indy at DL, she's just tall enough to ride. :goodvibes

We bought the picture, as a testament to our 'bad' parenting. He does not look scared, but he does not look thrilled either!!

I too bought the picture of her first time. She's holding really tight to my DM and my hands with a big grimace on her face-:headache:

It is a ride that I have to do once per trip, just because it is part of Disney. However, I'm not a huge fan. My DS9 loves the ride, but my DD11 didn't like it at all :scared1: . She wanted to get an "I survived the Tower of Terror" t-shirt, but they stopped making them. The CM says it was their most popular item in the gift shop, but discontinued them because it implied that you might die on the ride :confused3 ?

My family loves it. The first time my family was there I was the only one who rode it. It scares me and I love it -- my hands are shaking when I come off of it!

My dh would not even try it but my 6y.o. wanted to try it. He loved it! So, my dh decided that he couldn't go home and tell everyone that he was too chicken to ride ToT but his 6y.o. did it. So... dh did it with ds and dh loved it, too!

Finally, my 4y.o. dd tried it and she really likes it. She likes the drops but the library part in the beginning scares her (go figure).

I was just wandering who out there might have story about the Tower of Terror at MGM good or bad....I rode it for the 1st time Oct 2006 and let me tell you I will never do that again.....The times before when we had went I had to miss it cause we could never get our schedule to work out with the crowd so last year we decided we were gonna ride it no matter what we had to sacrafice..Now before I go any futher let me say there is not much out there I will not ride. I have ridden massive roller coaster and all kids of hair raising rides all over the us but people this ride did me in...It's not so much that it scared me it's just that I almost fainted during the first drop...then I panicked because I almost fainted then the rest of the became like a person fighting for their life in the middle of the ocean on a fishing boat during a hurricane. I was begging God please let this be over and each time it dropped(not knowing how many more it would)I wandered if I would survive it. I came off the ride and for the 1st time in my entire life I knew what people meant when they said that their knees were knocking together and they were trembling all over....I have never had anything scare and shake me up that bad in my life..a wild bear could chase me thru a venemous snake pit and into a crocodiles territory and I would be calmer...Let's just say it ruined the rest of my day and I will never ever ride it again....My husband is counting down the days till he can get another fast pass to jump on it...oh well we have an insurance policy....My daughter on the other is like me she had enough of it to do her for the rest of her life....I'm sure there are some of you who love it and some who don't I was just interested in your experiences and if anyone had the same one as I.....If you like it please enjoy and if your there when I am you have one less person to worry about being in line in front of you....lol...:rotfl:

Me, DH and DS (who was 4 the first time he rode it) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!! We ride it over and over!

 Love it:yay: :yay: Its my fav as well as my bro and sis' and parents fav too!!!!!:yay: I want to take me DD on it when we go. She is a major thrill seeker. I'm just worried it mght scare her. What's the youngest child you taken on it that has had fun?
My son was 4 and he LOVED it.

TOT is the absolute best "thrill" ride in disney. There is not another ride like it around. I have been riding roller costers seriously for 15 years now, and have rode some of the meanest, biggest, fastest roller coasters in the world. However TOT gives us adrenaline junkies a rush that is not matched by the biggest baddest scream machines.

TOT gets a completely huge thumbs up!!!!

:scared1: My Dear Lord...no way!!! DD (8 at the time) and I went on it. I'll usually try most things once. I started to worry when we were in the boiler room or whatever it's called. I thought about looking for the chicken exit, but decided to go for it. As soon as we got to the window when they first drop you...DD dug her head into my lap/side and never came back up (except once to look out the window). I hated the drop and then come up and the drop and come up, etc. You know what it reminded me of.....all those dreams of falling in an elevator (which it was), but you know how you wake up and wonder if you are still alive and then relax and hope you never dream that again? Just that one ride is like 5 of those dreams put together.

We won't be going on that one again.

Hate that ride:headache:

OP- my first experience was just like yours! I was terrified! Every time I thought about it or told someone else about it afterward, I would get that awful scary feeling again. I walked off and no one else seemed fazed by it...not even kids. It was if others had just riden a merry -go- round on Sunday afternoon.

Fast foward a year later and one of my sisters dares me to ride it again. Like a fool, I say "ok"- figuring I will see if it is as bad the 2nd time around. Umm...yep! This time it feels as if I am having a heart attack as my chest hurt because my heart was pounding so bad and the effect of the adrenaline. My sis bought the picture. It looks like I am having a good time because I smiled to try to "trick" myself that it was fun...it didn't work.

That will be my last ride on the world's most scary ride to me! One less person in line to contend with for all of you crazies that love it.

:upsidedow My family and I rode it 7 times in two days! It is all my three girls talk about!:dance3: They can not wait until next trip, they would probably ride it all day if I would let them! NO, that is not true, the would alternate the tower of terror and the rock and roller coaster all day long!:rotfl:

Last year we went with DD who had just turned 5 - she met the ht requirement, and she's a bit of a daredevil, so we thought we'd try it. Our only concern was the darkness and the "ghosts" that might scare her. So we just prepped her ahead of time that everything was pretend, and we told her it would be dark. She absolutely LOVED it! Teenagers in line with their parents behind us kept asking if we were really taking a 5 year old on the ride? Then they backed out at the last minute! If we wouldn't have warned her of the scary parts (including the drop!) then she would have been scared, I think.
