Bourbon Steak @ the Dolphin

I haven’t seen any reviews of this restaurant here (unless I missed them). Has anyone had a chance to try it? Thanks!

Google 'Disney bourbon steak review' and you'll get 4 or 5 right away from some of the prominent Disney restaurant bloggers.

There were a few posters back in October who seemed to denigrate the place - most seemed to be that it was noisy or service was inconsistent - I haven't heard anyone say the food wasn't good.

I plan on eating here in June on my next trip - I haven't tried the Disney one yet - but I have a Bourbon Steak location just a few miles from me where I live and have eaten there often - I find it to be one of the best steakhouses anywhere in the country and the meat cuts and preparations are absolute perfection.

I went in November when I was at Dolphin for a conference. I thought the food and service was quite good. Price was about where I'd expect given the location. The fry flight instead of bread was a nice touch. The most awkward thing was I went with one of my colleagues/friends for dinner and the waiter kept making jokes like we were a couple. We didn't say anything because was somewhat funny, but I can't imagine it is a rare occurrence in a conference hotel.

We went there several months ago. A good experience overall. For background, our favorite steakhouse is Bull & Bear at the Waldorf. I'd rate Bourbon Steak just below it but above Yachtsman.

I agree that the fry flight was a nice change-up. The sides were all excellent and the steaks were good. We had a good server and we also enjoyed the drinks.

We were there last fall. One and done for us. We live in the midwest and have great Steak Houses by us. this didn't match up to the better steak Houses near us. The food was good, not great, the service was fair at best. It was extremely loud inside, not what I expect at that price point. There were 4 of us and none were impressed. The price wasn't the issue. We have dined at Victoria and Alberts multiple times, Monsieur Paul several times, Takumi Tei 3 times among many others. It was packed the night we were there, so they won't miss us not coming back.

I was one of those bad reviewers. It was highly disappointing. I looked forward for months to that lobster pot pie. It was undercooked and bland. My husband said he’s had better steak at Longhorn and it was extremely loud.

I liked it a lot better than Shula’s! I sat solo at the bar and the fries instead of bread is a nice touch.

Yachtsman is still far better.

We went in September, and it was just ok. We loved our appetizers, the entrees were just ok, and we didn't like the room we were in, it was so loud we couldn't hear each other across the table, even the waiter had to yell. We'll try it again, but we're not rushing back.

That sounds almost identical to our experience. You nearly had to yell for the person across the table to hear you.
