Tower of Terror fun fact

Back then I wasn’t a theme park or Disney fan and I can still remember the media blitz and excitement in the northeast when this attraction opened. A big deal was how each ride was different and going down was faster than gravity.

I rode it on opening day. It was an amazing thing as a kid. Good Morning America was there to broadcast. I still have a souvenir ticket and watch somewhere.

I can still remember hearing the screams from across the park.

One of my favorite memories from my college program was getting to do a backstage tour of Tower of Terror, learning about all the Twilight Zone references and exploring the lobby and libraries. :goodvibes

Was Tower of terror an virtual queue on first day it opened or was it the original standby and lightning lane fastpass lanes

Remember when there was a single long lap bar for each row as the only restraint? We'd keep it up higher so we'd fly more. Now THAT was fun!
I was just going to mention this! DH and I went shortly after it opened. One long lap bar and that was it. I was a skinny thing flew right out of my seat. So appropriate for those of us raised in the 70s and early 80s! No safety concerns here lol.
