And consider this: those highway miles are run on a very wide road. So every time you cross from one side to the other - to walk, to stop for a pic, to get some Biofreeze, to grab water, etc. - you're adding distance. As a semi-local, I'm very familiar with the roads and have a pretty good feel for where the curves and turns are, so I'm pretty good at running the tangents, but there's just no getting around the extra distance if Capt. Jack is on the far left and I'm on the far right, lol!
I feel your pain. Honestly I do a lot if not most of my training on a treadmill, mostly by way of fans, still insanely hot but at least the wind blowing on you helps a little. But I may do the opposite and train outside more to be ready for the heat and humidity in October. But who cares, we'll be running through Hollywood at night and partying til late morning!!!!
...If you book a PACKAGE through RunDisney, you cannot pick up your tickets until you arrive and therefore cannot book FP+ until you arrive. If you separate the room and tickets, it is the same price (except you pay for the tickets now), but you will get a ticket reference number so that you can pre-book FP+. You will still pick up the tickets upon arrival, but get the "benefits".
I'm also planning to take it easy in the race this time; no time goal at all. I think I'll finish feeling a lot better doing that and might actually get to enjoy that party this time!Definitely submit it, no matter what your 10K time is. No proof of time = last corral, period, regardless of your estimated finish time. With proof of time, rD (Track Shack, really) will decide what your estimated finish time is and corral you based on that. For example: I submitted a 1:16:23 10K and was placed in corral G last year (they estimated my finish time as 2:00:01.) With no proof of time, I'd have been placed in the last corral, J.I am loving the latest tips and the encouragement to go ahead and register for a 10k!
My question is .... Right now I am at the 2:00 registration with no recorded time ... By my estimate I have to run a 10k in 1:15ish to be lower than a 2:00 for the 10 miler. If I run the 10k in 1:20, will I actually be worse off than if I did not submit a time at all?

A few pages back someone called RunDisney and was told that after you pay off your package in full, you can request them to send you the ticket number to enter into My Disney Experience.
I have not tried this yet but was REALLY hoping it was true! I don't want to unpackage everything and rebook. I'm being lazy.
I hope someone posts if this turns out to be true!
You should just listen to our gut. If you're walking around the park and feeling a bit tired, head back to the hotel and rest. Remember, you'll be up LATE, so an early breakfast would make for a long day.
