Tower of Terror 10 Miler 2014

That's me too. :) It's deciding on a T-shirt, LS shirt, or jacket now. Cause I could go crazy. oh, and a magnet if they have one.
Anyone remember prices on some of this stuff?

Jeeze, listen to me already.

I like the design of the shoes, but New Balance doesn't work for me - so there's no reason to buy them.

I bought the Champion tech pullover at wine & dine and I want to say it was $69.99? Somewhere around there

Is there somewhere I can see what will be available in advance? That would cut waaaaaaaay back on the impulse buy. lol

They should have plenty of those, no matter what time you arrive. :thumbsup2

But last year I noticed that those shirts were long sleeved, and when I got there they had only ONE size, which was just as poorly sized as the included shirts (so so SO big).

On another topic, I hesitated telling my hubby that I registered because I'm not (wasn't?) a runner and I thought he would think I was crazy. Well this weekend he asked me why I was so determined to run and I told him about how I really wanted to run this race. He surprised me with how supportive he was! Then tonight he told me that he feels that him and the kids should be there to cheer me on when I cross the finish line.

That is so cool to have his support. Running is odd... such and individual sport with each of us having different goals and such... but it is so important to have a support team. Those who cheer you on no matter what. :thumbsup2

For everyone that has done this before, how early should I get to the expo? I'm trying to map out my days so I can make my dining reservations on April 1. I was thinking of doing breakfast at Ohana's the day of the expo but I'm not sure how important it is to get to the expo early. In general I have a "free day" planned, meaning the expo and then whatever sounds good. Resort, DTD, whatever. I would like to make a later breakfast reservation so we could sleep in a little...

It has already been said... get there early if there are "must have" items you need. However... also consider crowds. While all you really need to do is get in and out to pick up your packet, I must say it is much nicer to get there earlier and not fight lines or crowds. :goodvibes

I was there pretty early and I too noticed some merchandise was definitely in lower quantity....

They must have restocked - there seemed to be plenty when I got there early afternoon race day. I may have misunderstood the shirt sleeve question - the race shirts we get with registration have all been short sleeve - my I Did It shirt from 2012 is short sleeve, too, but I wasn't looking for them last year to notice.

If anyone has 2 bibs they will not be able to use, please contact me. Registration already full :(

Disney has new rules about bib pick up. I am not sure if it applies to TOT but they said they will require the purchaser to pick up the bib in person.

Best bet might be to try through a charity

It won't be in effect for ToT, because it went on sale before the new rule.

Well, they were *going* to have everyone follow the rule put into place after registration (for 3 of the 4 races that had already had registration), but thankfully they realized that it wasn't cool.

Hubby and I were wondering if it'll be possible to eat something (other than the little food boxes), and get a beer or two? Anyone know? I need those recovery carbs...

Not fully sure about the beer but a blog mentions sci if dine in and backlot express being open during the party and both sell beer, so I would imagine so and that sounds perfect after a run like that!

We were able to get things to eat and there was lots of beer being served.

Yes and yes! Several counter service places are open with full menus, and you truly can't miss the beer - it's available at counter serve places and at many carts all around the park :thumbsup2

Does anyone remember if the carts took Magic Bands as payment?

Well, I guess we're staying at Caribbean Beach for the race weekend. Initially, I wanted to rent DVC points but I was told there are no DVC studios available with points for our dates. The Swan and Dolphin is also fully booked for those dates. I called RunDisney and both Port Orleans resorts are booked for the race discount. I looked into the RunDisney prices for SSR but it's more than I can justify paying for that weekend.

Has anyone stayed at Caribbean Beach before and have positive things to say? I'd love to hear them so I can get excited about this development.

On another note, I wonder if this means that WDW will be super crowded that weekend? I'm surprised everything seems so full the first weekend of October. Maybe because Food & Wine....

I stayed at CBR in June and we enjoyed it. My only complaint was that whatever building we were in (I don't remember) seemed far away from everything - pool, bus stops, etc. It seemed like we always started and ended our days with a hike. LOL I will pay the extra for preferred I think in the future.

Only a few of the DVC properties are host resorts this race. We're at OKW but our home is at AKL. I was hoping to stay there but it's not a host :(

CBR is ok. A bit spread out and not too many elevators, so ask for a ground floor room if you don't want to do steps after the race.
