Tower of Terror 10 Miler 2014

Thanks so much for all of the answers! So I'm not at a host resort so for runners we are to take a tack to wows correct? What do non runners do and when can they go to the party? Ie when does it start? Thanks again!!!

You either take a Taxi to WWoS or if you are leave early enough you can just save some money and take a taxi to one of the host hotels. Traffic to WWoS can be crazy on event night. To get to the party they should be able to take a bus to Hollywood studios or they can go with you to WWoS and take a spectator bus that leaves from there.

The party starts at 10pm same time as the race.

ToT 10 miler starts at DHS,not WWoS,WWoS is where you park if you're going by car.If you're going by car you park at WWoS and take a shuttle to DHS,same bus for runners and spectators. If you're staying at a Disney hotel that's not a host resort then you just have to take a bus to DHS from a resort or another park.Last year I spent the day at Epcot and walked over to DHS from Epcot around 8pm.The party starts at 10pm which is the same time the race starts and the time spectators can enter DHS for the party.Getting back to your resort will be the tricky part since there won't be buses direct to your hotel and taking a taxi would be the best option.

I really remember this too. It was a lady that I remember too yelling at people and I too remember those words "runners, get those bottles open" (or something very similar. Is it possible this was phm 2013 and not ToT? I am confused cause I thought it was ToT. Not to be too nosey, but what time did you finish? I half wonder if you and I were near each other and maybe we were the only ones seeing this very concerned lady.
Could be it was PHM 2013... I'm not sure now! I finished TOT 2013 in around 2:15:00 and remember starting about 15 minutes after A.

Anyone know what this means, from the course description? "Elevating the fun even more this year are a series of four gentle slopes dotting the course, and timing mats that let your friends and family track your progress."
The course description sounds the same in years past, but it's odd that they say that the gentle slopes elevate the fun more this year.
My money's on the cloverleafs and overpasses and that someone complained last year about not knowing ahead of time.

It however wouldn't surprise me if that's what they're talking about,I guarantee you there's still some runners trying to figure out what the mile 20 spectacular was for the 2013 marathon.
:lmao:

Has anyone done race who staged at Coronado springs? Any recommendations on best way to get there wd be appreciated. Also after race, will they have buses to all resorts or only host resorts?
Race buses only go to host resorts. I've stayed at CSR when not a host, but I'm local-ish and drive, so I had my car - I drove to a host resort and took a race bus from there. I know folks who took taxis to/from the race last year, though, and said it was quick and easy.

Thanks for the info-if I take the bus to dhs, where do I go from there to the starting line?

The staging area is one of the south parking lots, you will see the lights and hear the DJ entertaining the crowd, eventually the runners get called over to the corrals which are close by.

I think it is funny we both were thinking ToT. I finished at a different time from you...so it probably was the phm 2013

I'm running as Kim Possible! I already have the red hair and the rest is pretty easy. I would steer clear of the face paint. Even if you have a great makeup setting product that will keep it from running you'll probably be twice as hot under it! But that's the opinion of someone who has never run with face paint on ;)

Wow, that's an awesome costume idea! Thx a mint for your thoughts on the face paint too. :thumbsup2

Where's everyone staying for their race? I'm going to be solo at All Star Sports - first time staying there. Got a good deal on it.

cheers,
:goodvibes

Thanks! :hyper: My friend and I are staying at All Star Music! We're really just flying in for MNSSHP and the race so we didn't want to spend a ton of money on a room we'll rarely be in. We're excited! :yay:

What are the spectators who have party tickets able to do during the race?

Also, what rides are open during the party?

Lastly, any tips for the party? I read that the lines are the longest for TOT.

Thanks!

Thanks!

This is my first TOT so I can't comment on that, but what I am doing is sending them off to get a beer and then go find a spot at the finish line so they don't miss me crossing!

Almost all the rides are open and there are DJs and characters. The lines for characters and rides will increase over time as more runners finish.

I remember all of the main attractions being open - TSM, ST, RnR, TOT... The wait for TOT was never bad, IMO - maybe 20 mins. And I'm a mid-to-back of the pack runner, so after running, eating, changing clothes, I was there pretty late.

So, how's training going for everyone? Surprise, surprise, it's still HOT as heck here in FL, but I keep on keeping on. Cycled up to 9 miles 2 weeks ago, and I'm cycling back to 6 this weekend, then 7 before a cut back week and ramping up again. Between lightning and heat, I'm spending a lot of quality time with the treadmill... you know it's bad out when the treadmill actually sounds good! :rotfl:

Any particular reason why those of us who are staying at a WDW resort and bought park tickets through RunDisney can't make 60 in advance FastPass+ reservations? :confused3

For some odd reason I noticed that my synced up tickets are good for 30 days in advance, not 60 even though we're staying at Pop Century.

And yes, training is going well. Ran 10 last week in 1:24:20 and 9.2 this week in 1:15:49. I'm actually also running the Avengers 1/2 marathon in November so this is a long 90 days of training.

Training has slowed way down for me. I can't push my knee until my new brace comes in, but I'm itching for some distance runs!

It is how the runDisney packages are booked. Call them to get it straightened out.

Have you hit your 60 day mark yet for the trip? MDE only opens 30 day periods until the day FP+ opens for you.

My training has been going pretty well until I hurt my ankle on July 11th so I'm not running as fast now. Then I was stupid yesterday & walked 6 miles in dress shoes down Hollywood Blvd & now I'm all blistered up. Running tonight should be interesting. :lmao:

Mine is allowing me to book fastpass+ for August and doesn't say when my 60 day time is.

We check in October 2nd. So I am thinking I should be able to do it on 8/2 (right?), but since it is open for August??

I am confused.
