Towels at the VWL pool?

As a VWL owner, I really take offense to people who have no business using the pool at the resort for which I pay maintenance dues to maintain the pool and launder the towels.

Consequently, when I am on a DVC stay, I do not take advantage of the pool hopping perk to which I am entitled for the very same reason...it is not the resort which I am staying at so I have no business in their pool.

How about I come over and just use the gas grill you tote along with your camper...would you have any objections to that?
(I'm betting that you would have DVC security out to remove me from your campsite without blinking an eye).

I know for a fact that you sign a "no pool hopping" agreement when you check in to the campground so let's just drop this subject and pretend that you never asked the question :headache:

It wouldn't be dvc security removing you.:lmao: Just like they won't be removing me from your pools. I have no desire to plunge into your pools.:thumbsup2

So do WL guests have to also have to sign a no pool hopping agreement?

The no pool hopping info is usually found on the sign posted at the pool. For example, the sign at the two pools located at WL and VWL will state that the pool is for the exclusive use of the guests at WL and VWL. FW is not a sister resort of WL and VWL and FW guests are only entitled to use the pool at their resort. There has been talk of a new pool to be constructed at FW that should resolve a lot of the problems with FW guests pool hopping to WL and VWL pools.

Disney obviously doesn't care and in fact considers the two resorts sister resorts.

Right the Deluxe Wilderness Lodge and the Villas at Wilderness Lodge are sister resorts to the campground. :rotfl2:

They are even managed by the same manager.

Right :rotfl2:

Someone is full of misinformation. You need to get better info. :rotfl2:

Ok and this is funny why exactly?
A room at the DELUX Wilderness Lodge is actually $30 a night cheaper than a cabin at Fort Wilderness!

It isn't about cost it's just that the Wilderness Lodge and Villas are not sister resorts to the campground.

The campground doesn't have any sister resorts.

Just because two resorts are located near each other does not mean they share amenities. Nor are the managers the same for both resorts.

Laughter is the only way to respond to Jims post. If the he wants to pool hop he can, that still doesn't mean that the information he is posting is correct. If a new DIS member reads his post they would be receiving information that is wrong.

The Poly & Grand Floridain are right next to each other both are Deluxe but they are not sister resorts.

Why is the no pool hopping rule so hard for people to understand? There are signs all over the place saying pools are for the exclusive use of the guest and yet people feel that it's for every one but them.
It's not brain surgery, its a very easy rule to understand. :rolleyes1
I'm willing to bet, these would be the same people who would complain if some one was smoking next to them.
Please, if you're going to break the rules don't advertise it.

I've never gone in the pool at the resort I've stayed at, much less pool hopped. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Ah, but here is the fundamental difference. I own the propane grill, and you have no more right to use it than I do coming into your room and using your cologne. As a DVC member, you don't own the pool - Disney does. The reality is, you have purchased a membership, not ownership, and after 40 years your membership goes back to Disney, or you will be given the opportunity to extend for additional money. Brilliant marketing, Disney. Much the same as getting corporate sponsors for attractions - use someone elses money for construction and maintenance costs, but keep the ownership.

Now, to come clean, as many have figured out, I am only kidding. I have never pool hopped nor will I. My point is that there are many, especially on this forum, who seem to feel FW is around for their convenience; a means to enhance their vacation regardless of those of us who vacation there. FW is our hotel while we are on property. We are there to provide an enjoyable vacation for our families, just like you. We come from many socioeconomic backgrounds, just like all of you. You are no better than us, and we are no better than you. We deserve the same respect as you expect from us. Campers are some wonderful people who are willing to help a neighbor in need. I would bet that on your next DVC trip, your neighbor at the Villa won't help you move in, offer you a cold drink, help you repair your car or even bother to get to know your name. Maybe you don't care, but I believe that this social interaction is what separates humans from the other species.

Huh?? You've posted a hot topic issue in order to make a social statement which has almost no connection to the original issue? I'm not even sure I understand your statement. Are you saying that for some reason you think campers are "looked down upon" for camping, or that other Disney guests are somehow using the aneminities at FW and distrubing the campers? For me, your just not being clear.

BTW - I agree that social interaction is important, thats why we talk to people while we are at Disney. You don't have to camp next to someone to talk to them. Dh and I helped a family "fix their car" - well actually they just needed a jump - in the AK parking lot.

I applaud your contribution to society.:thumbsup2

To answer the OP question, there are towels for use at all resort pools.

Have a nagical day :)

I'm not sure what point you think you've made? Nowhere in this thread has anyone showed a bias against FW campers. Yes, many have expressed concern about overcrowding in the WL pools, but that could be people from GF, BC, All-Stars.....who cares? People are talking generally about non-WL folks using the pool. No one said anything specific about campers in the pool, except you.

As a point of clarification, you're correct in saying that DVC members don't 'own' the WL pools. But we do pay for the maintenance of the pools through our annual dues. So yes, overcrowding of the pools does impact us financially.

It sounds as if you're upset that folks are using the FW facilities, but you don't get to use other resorts' pools. You're comparing apples to oranges. Yes, Disney allows non-FW guests to enjoy the campfire, horseback riding, boat rentals, etc. But FW guests are also allowed to use the recreational facilities at all the other resorts. And it's true that FW guests can't use pools at other resorts. But non-FW guests can't use the FW pool, either. So I really don't see why you assume that FW guests are being shortchanged, somehow?

Seems to me like you came here to pick a fight about a non-existent problem.

Actually, no they aren't...guest stay in Value Resorts will need to bring the towels from the room. If additional towels are needed they may request them from Mousekeeping.

I didn't realize that. Before we had DVC we stayed at the value resorts (loved them by the way) and there were towels at the pool.

Thanks for the correction. I would hate to give out wrong info :)
