Touring tips when you don't have FOTL?

We'll be doing a one day trip to USF/IOA next month. We aren't staying on site so we won't have the FOTL advantage.(room rates were just way too high!) I have an AP and the rest of the group is buying the 2 day/2 park tickets so we'll be doing the best of both parks. Any tips for making the most of our day?? Thanks!!

Be sure to get there early. It seems that the parks open 30 minutes or so prior to their posted opening times. Definitely try to hit Hulk & Spider-Man first at IOA. At US, hit Mummy & Shrek first.
