Touring the resorts

I guess it seems more overwhelming than it is :confused3 You can only get here by bus and here by either bus or monorail, here by boat then by monorail. I sure hope there is going to be some good maps, signs etc. If you see a lost family of 4 in June-please help us :scared1:

Ok, it really IS easy. First, They'll give you a map on check in. I'd go around fort Wilderness, by bus, since that's where you're staying, and you'll want to locate the two trading posts, pool, and recreation as well as the boat dock.

Next, I'd take the launch to Magic Kingdom, because that is an obvious hub, that will serve as a point of reference for you.

At Magic Kingdom, you can get on the resort monorail and ride around that loop, as a previous poster mentioned (Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian and back to MK.) I'd save the EPCOT monorail for later, since it interrupts your circuit.

IF You're now out of energy, you can easily return to FT Wilderness from MK by the ferry.

If, on the other hand, you have the time and energy to continue, You can then hop a bus for the Epcot resorts. Get off at the first stop and walk around the circuit of resorts on the walkway around Crescent Lake.

From the last resort on your circuit, take the Downtown Disney bus to the MarketPlace. You can then eat, explore downtown, or just hop a bus back to Ft. Wilderness.

In my view, that right there is a whole day's worth.

I agree. I think it is neat that you can tour and walk around and no questions asked :lovestruc

Does this mean it stops at points of interest like the Kungaloosh Bar in September?

We'll have to post roadside signs for that one. I'll bring my healthmaster blender so we can mix up mega-batches of kungaloosh! :thumbsup2 You can earn enough in one day to pay for your entire Disney trip AND your new trailer!

i'd take a studios bus, then the friendship boats to beach club for the cape may breakfast. You can also walk it if you don't mind the 20 min walk. I enjoy it, but it's not for every body. And depending on the time of the reservation, DTD busses might not be running, remember those stores don't open till ilke 10 or 10:30

if you're getting in at 2, i'd stick to the MK resorts. Take the boat the the contemp, then ride the resort monorail to the poly,
then the grand, get off at MK, and take the ferry boat across to the TTC. Then ride the Epcot monorail around and get off at epcot. Go to the bus stops, and hop on the wilderness lodge/fort bus, i think it's number 4 or 5. Get off at the lodge, explore a bit. Then go back out to the busses and get on the fort bus, stop 1. This will turn into the orange route, and will go down the center of the campgrounds and thru the cabins.

At the contemp: try to find the 5 legged goat on the mural. It was created by mary blare who did it's a small world. There's also several penny press machines by the monorail machines. Most stuff is there on the fourth floor.

At the poly: nothing particular comes to mind, but the lobby is very pretty.

At the grand: they have a basin, which is a soap store. They make so ,any cool ones there. But it'd be an allergy nightmare. There's a band that plays in the afternoon or a pianist.

At the lodge: start at the base of the fireplace, and look for a wooden display table. It takes you through the grand canyon, and as you go up each flight, there's different fossils to be found in the rock. There's also a geyser that goes off in the back, behind the pool. You can also see it from the fourth floor balcony. Every half hour. If you cross over to the DVC side, it'll be straight ahead as you head to the busses. There's a train room off the the right of the front doors. Lots of cool pictures and such to see if you have any train fans.

At the fort: well this is endless, but if it's dark out, at 9:45 is the electrical water pagent. Out at the beach.

For diner, the lodge, poly, and contemp have good food courts. I'm not a personal fan of the grand.

Ok, so to get to Cape May Cafe, I can.....take the boat from FW to TTC, then hop on the monorail to EPCOT, go around the showcase and exit at England then a boat to Beach Club. Did I pass?

Susan :surfweb:

Actually, the easiest way to get to Beach Club is to go to the Outpost bus stop, then take a bus to the Studios, then boat or walk to Beach Club.

I just can't wait to get there:cool1: Time moves so slowly waiting for a vacation, then it flies by once you get there :sad1:

It's funny, but our first trip we couldn't even figure out the internal bus system colors. Now, after 8 or 9 visits it just all makes sense. We go back in about 5 weeks and I am as excited as my first trip....maybe more since I now know what awaits us. We love doing the monorail tour of the hotels. It makes a great "down" day event.
