This afternoon we ventured over to Boardwalk to check out the BCV model at the Boardwalk DVC sales center.
The unit looks fantastic. We really liked the colors and the furniture. Really looks like a beach resort - sort of a Cape May, NJ feel. I liked the oblong kitchen table. More space, and a family of 4 could sit and eat there comfortably.
2 big overstuffed chairs in the studio unit. The master bedroom in the one bedroom had a desk next to the king size bed. Only one night stand. The desk looks very nice, and will be great for those of us who bring our lap tops along on vacation! I asked if units would have data ports available...sorry, you still have to use the phone and dial up the internet!
DVC sales rep advised BCV are currently 20% sold, with sales being very brist during the peak Easter holiday weeks. So brisk that she said customers were calling in complaints because reps were not returning phone calls, but they couldn't because they were busy taking folks on tours of the property.
According to the rep, construction on the golf course location (name escapes me) has not been started yet. They have started to work on the DI location. Existing units will be torn down and new units built. Per this rep, unit size will be the same as BCV, VWL and BWV's. I asked if the golf course units would be close in size to OKW..response was no, probably just like BCV's etc. According to rep, building is slow due to DVC getting all the proper paper work taken care of.
Asked if she felt new resorts would be a "DVC II", with more time than our current 40 years. She said no... I wonder about this...
current 5 dollars off on BCV points (75 down to 70) ends 4/29. Points going up to 80 6/1.
One other interesting note..We've found WDW seems to be getting back to normal...more staff every where, areas that were closed in December are now open. A very welcome site!
That's all for today!
