This afternoon we ventured over to Boardwalk to check out the BCV model at the Boardwalk DVC sales center.

The unit looks fantastic. We really liked the colors and the furniture. Really looks like a beach resort - sort of a Cape May, NJ feel. I liked the oblong kitchen table. More space, and a family of 4 could sit and eat there comfortably.

2 big overstuffed chairs in the studio unit. The master bedroom in the one bedroom had a desk next to the king size bed. Only one night stand. The desk looks very nice, and will be great for those of us who bring our lap tops along on vacation! I asked if units would have data ports available...sorry, you still have to use the phone and dial up the internet!

DVC sales rep advised BCV are currently 20% sold, with sales being very brist during the peak Easter holiday weeks. So brisk that she said customers were calling in complaints because reps were not returning phone calls, but they couldn't because they were busy taking folks on tours of the property.

According to the rep, construction on the golf course location (name escapes me) has not been started yet. They have started to work on the DI location. Existing units will be torn down and new units built. Per this rep, unit size will be the same as BCV, VWL and BWV's. I asked if the golf course units would be close in size to OKW..response was no, probably just like BCV's etc. According to rep, building is slow due to DVC getting all the proper paper work taken care of.

Asked if she felt new resorts would be a "DVC II", with more time than our current 40 years. She said no... I wonder about this...

current 5 dollars off on BCV points (75 down to 70) ends 4/29. Points going up to 80 6/1.

One other interesting note..We've found WDW seems to be getting back to normal...more staff every where, areas that were closed in December are now open. A very welcome site!

That's all for today!

Thanks for taking the time to post a very informative thread.

It seems like you paid a lot of attention to details. It's great to get a visual idea of what the units will be like.

They sound charming. I can understand why they're so popular.:)

Peggy Sue thanks for keeping us updated on whats going on with BCV. I cannot wait until July to see posts like this also.:)

I loved reading your comments and observations !!! I'm DYING for my June trip to come so we can take our tour of BCV and meet our Guide in person. :) Thanks for taking time out of your vacay to do that for us!!!

:Pinkbounc <--- that's me, all excited.

One other intersting note. Rep advised the BWV sales center will be closing and will be moved to the Beach club. Wonder if that means the model units they currently have will be rehabbed to BWV and add a little more inventory to the mix like they did at OKW when the closed the commodore sales area??

Another sunny day. (HOT!)

Well let you know if I find out any other interesting tid bits!

My family and I just got back from staying 10 days at Boardwalk. Our room was 2 doors down from the BC rooms, and the WL rooms they were showing and they were busy. Every time I was in the hall there was someone going thru the tour. I talked to a rep and told them that we were Boardwalk owners and they asked us if we wanted to see the rooms. My wife and I walked thru them. All the rooms were great looking, my wife liked how the BC bathroom was different then BW, with a wall dividing the shower and toilet. The rep said that they have be very busy and that they have been selling a lot.

Thanks for the info. We have reservations for an Oct. trip and like many others am looking forward to the first reports from folks staying there. Also thanks for the info on the Eagle Pines property. That will be our next purchase if we can get the first one paid off by then.
