Total Points and Contracts

While I have been monitoring these chat boards for a few weeks now, the one question that I have not seen is about the total number of points sold per resort and the number of contracts.

I am a seriously looking at VWL but I would like to know the total number of points sold by WDW for VWL as well as the other resorts and the number of contracts that those points represent. I know the number of contracts is a moving target depending upon resales, etc., but I am sure there is a range somewhere.

I don't think I've ever seen that info officially. I know some have worked out the number of points needed to reserve per year at a given resort. And DVC has stated the number of total members though not by resort since 1994 that I am aware. I'm not sure why you want to know because If they were going to oversell the resort, which I think is extremely unlikely, they wouldn't give you the information to document it.

My estimate, looking at the 2005 and 2006 detailed budgets, is that total points at the resorts were as follows:

OKW 7.7 million points
VB subsidized 3.1 million (2005)
VB unsubsidized 1.6 million (2005)
HH 1.4 million
BWV 4.9 million
VWL 2.0 million
BCV 3.0 million
SSR 7.1 miilion (resort still being sold)

Number of members by resort based on 3/05 POS:

OKW 26,700 members
VB 5,000 members
HH 4,900 members
BWV 19,400 members
VWL 7,700 members
BCV 10,800 members
SSR 22,600 members (resort still being sold)
