So, I don't see any excursions listed for Tortola...what is there to see and do? And will DCL eventually have Tortola excursions?

They will have and they have done in the past, touring the island and going to the beach called The Baths and Dolphin inter actions there.

They should be up about four months before the first cruise calls there.

The Baths the big boulders there is very scenic.

The first cruise returning to Tortola (I understand DCL has gone there before) will be at the 120 day mark in mid-August, so hopefully things will be cemented sometime between now and then.

Super stoked to see this location. There is a place called Brewers Bay (our last name is Brewer) and my DH wants to rent a car JUST so he can drive on the other side of the road!

Thank you! I can't wait to see what they offer. I had read about the baths, but we are going with a group with a wide age range and I don't think the older part of the group could do the hike...even though they sound super cool. I just didn't see much else to do there and was hoping that there would be some excursions to give us an idea.

What date will you be in Tortola? We are looking to fill a private charter to the Baths with entry from the water, so no steep hill. The date is January 19, 2016.

We are using Patouche Charters. They have been given good reviews here and on some other boards.

For a great beach day, go to Jost Van Dyke, only a 20 minute ride from Tortola. Much closer than the Baths (which are really nice). JVD offers the nicest beach in those islands IMHO (White Bay Beach), is very, very laid back, & has nice small beach bars, & a tiny downtown (calling it a town is stretching things) with several fun little restaurants. For those old enough, it's Mayberry with Andy Griffith on an island.
If you can rent a boat for a small group go to White Bay Beach, have a few drinks at the Soggy Dollar Bar, snorkel at Sandy Spit, & have lunch at Willy T's. Google these places, if you wish.
I have been to these islands numerous times.

We were on the first DCL cruise to go to Tortola. We chose Patouche. It was the best decisione ever. The Baths are a must see and do. I will never forget it. Entering from the water was DEFINITELY the way to go. I did A LOT of research and so happy I found Patouche!

I am wondering about this too… we will have a 3 and 5 year old, but would love to do the Baths and would prefer to book directly through Disney (yes, I know there are more excursions available outside Disney and for less money, but for some reason I just feel more confident booking through Disney).

I have done several land-based vacations to the BVI and am so stoked for Tortola. The BVI are much quieter and more old-carribbean than St. Thomas.

There are many other things to do besides the Baths, although these are wonderful too, but I imagine very crowded if DCL is doing a port excursion there. It is on Virgin Gorda, next door to Tortola. Tortola itself has more development than the other islands but is the least interesting IMO.

Jost is amazing. We stayed for a week on Jost a while back and loved it. One word: Foxy's!

ETA: I took my 2.5 year old to Foxy's. The BVI are so child-friendly and relaxed. It is more than a just a bar.

My best advice would be a Fodor's guide. The BVI are on Island time and not much changes over a year, so you can get great info from one of these books. I have planned 2 week long land-based trips using these and have filled the days as much or as little as I wanted. Most cover the USVI too. The folks down there are not always internet-savvy either, so judging them on the basis of their website is not helpful.

Just on Tortola, you can shop, eat, go surfing on the North shore, hike, boat, snorkel...Tortola has great hiking. It is really outdoor fun and dining. If you venture to VG, there is the Bitter End, Spanish Town...
