Tortola is a special stop on some Disney's 7 day Eastern Cruises in 2009. What were your favorite things to do? Disney excursions or on your own. Share it here with your fellow cruisers!

I think the first Tortola cruise went out last Saturday. I know they'll be back tomorrow, but just wondering whether we have heard anything from anyone on board? I can;t wait to see what dinner line up is, shows, etc!

Hopefully they are all having a great time and don't want to get on line and post. :thumbsup2

I would love to hear how it was as well. :surfweb:

We are on the next Tortola cruise, May 23rd, and I was hoping to see a "live" report or two!! Hopefully they'll be able to report back soon!!!!!!!!

Is it okay to mention Passporter here? According to their newsletter, they're on the Tortola trip right now. They have also posted some daily pictures. Hopefully they will do a very prompt trip report!!!

How do you get to that site?:confused3

I know the website is www.passporter.com but I can't find the pictures. :confused3 I'll keep looking because I'm interested in seeing the Tortola pics. If I find it I'll post back.

And they link to the Dis board so I would imagine its okay to post their name here.

Just back from our first DCL cruise and DCL's first cruise to Tortola. Our family of four was unanimous that Tortola was our favorite stop. We are beach people so we went to Brewers Bay to snorkel & play in the surf. It was gorgeous and had nice snorkeling. At the most there were 8 families on the beach. There were lounge chairs to rent for $5 and plenty of shade under the palm trees.

We had a great driver with a nice new van that even had seatbelts. :thumbsup2 When i find his card i will post his name. It was $7 p/p each way. We told him when we wanted to be picked back up and he actually showed up an hour ahead of time and told us to take our time. We finished up and then had a drink with the locals at the little outdoor bar/restaurant. All of the locals were very friendly. No one ever harrassed us to buy anything. On the drive back he stopped to let us take pictures - beautiful views. The drive over the island of course is harrowing. Some people we met didn't like Tortola because of the drive but i didn't think it was any worse than St. Thomas or St. John.

To go shopping you can either pay $4 for a cab or walk it. We walked it with our 2 kids, no problem, but there is a lot of traffic and you have to cross a street, but drivers do stop for you. Don't miss the spice shop, Sunny Caribbee.

I'll answer any questions anyone has.

Do you know anyone on the cruise who went on the Baths excursion? Glad you had fun. We'll be on the June 20th cruise to Tortola.:grouphug:

No, but our driver even recommended the Baths. We will definitely go there next time. It sounds really neat.

Did your taxi driver mention whether the taxis went to the baths? If so, did he mention how much?
He sounds like a great, reliable driver. Please post his information!! Thanks!!

He didn't say how you get to the Baths or for how much. We always arrange our own excursions and i use cruise critic and fodors for my info.. You could try there. When you get off the ship there is an info. booth with 2 nice women answering questions about the island. Then there is someone managing the taxis who will ask you where you want to go and direct you to a taxi. As of now i can't find our driver's card, it may have gotten thrown away. :headache:

I believe the baths are on Virgin Gorda and you catch a ferry and a taxi to get to the baths. DCL offer a trip, but I understand you can do it cheaper by yourself.
