Toronto to LA

We have flown return AA from YYZ to LAX several times a year as it is a codeshare partner with Qantas. My son has also flown AirCanada from LAX to YYZ when his Brisbane flight has missed his connection. He raves about how much better the AC flight is (it even has individual TVs). Mind you since he now lives in Australia he hates Qantas........:rotfl2: The aussies are very hard on their national airline and if a flight is late, it even hits the TV news!

We flew Toronto to LA last August, and then San Francisco to Toronto on the return leg. We flew on Air Canada and paid $1,050 for two people return. I just set up an alert on Air Canada, as well as Expedia so I would be notified of a price drop. That way, I was sure to get the best rate possible.

Good luck!

We're doing this same trip this summer but flying out of Detroit. For the 3 of us on Southwest: $950!

Just got back a few days ago and we did BUF to LAX with a plane change....no direct flights on this route.
It was Chicago Midway on the way there and Phoenix on the way back.

The cost was $760 USD for 2 adults on Southwest which saved us a substantial amount.

If you're renting a car, LAX is the least expensive airport in the LA area.

We're now looking at Aug 26-Sep 1 for our trip. The cheapest I've been able to find is with Delta, direct from Detroit to LAX, for $396/person. I guess that's not too bad. :confused3

I remember flying there direct from Toronto for our honeymoon 15 years ago and we paid $2500 for the two of us! lol

How was the plane change? Did you have to walk far?

The plane change was easy, probably a 5 to 10 min walk from gate to gate. It was a 1 hour layover and we had enough time to grab a small meal.

We just got back from a trip to LA a couple weeks ago. Normally we fly out of BUF and into SFO or SJC, but this trip, since we were going to a wedding in LA we flew into LAX. Flying out of Detroit (DTW) was about $100 cheaper per ticket so we sucked up the 3.5 hour drive and went for it. It was $787.80 for the three of us. Ticket prices this year have been astronomical :sad1:

We are planning on heading to Disneyland next summer and will probably do DTW to SNA. There doesn't seem to be too much difference between flying into either and I'd rather be closer to Disney since we won't be renting a car.

I'm finding flights from BUF to SNA to be way more expensive than from BUF to LAX. About $100 each way more expensive.

If your renting a car from Thrifty - don't do it.

I booked in Feb for a May vacation.

Arrived a 9:30 at night and waited 25 minutes to be picked up from the terminal to be taken to the offsite rental location. Once we got there they had NO cars, NOT a SINGLE ONE. I was told sorry we had a computer issue and we have not had any cars for 3 days.

REALLY

I had to fight patiently and did not get a car until after midnight. Not a great way to start the vacation
