Tori Spelling, Why is she still "famous"?

I agree completely. I am a guy and I happen to think she is Very Pretty, she is certainly FAR from Ugly, at least in my opinion. And if you MUST make comments about how ugly someone is, i would at LEAST make sure you are better looking than the person you are disparaging. And in that regard this post = FAILURE.

:rotfl:

As ugly as Torie is, no one on God's green earth could be as ugly as Lily Tomlin. Now that is one uuuuuuugggglllly woman!!!:scared:

Now I was thinking that Sandra Bernhard wins the award for the earth's ugliest woman....or maybe she doesn't qualify.

I've never cared for Tori Spelling and come to think of it she does bear a remarkable resemblance to a camel. :rotfl:

I think she's only famous because of her Father. I also think she looks like a horse, as stated in a pp.

just wanted to say that Tori herdelf said in an interview ( no idea what, I was channel surfing) that when she was on 90210 one of the fellow male actors said she looked like a camel, or her eyes did...something like that. Now everytime I see her, ti's all I think...camel. don't really like or dislike her...have not seen many things she's been in

OMG she does she really does.

I think it is interesting the people complain about Hollywood holding women up to impossible and unrealistic standards of beauty and magazines airbrushing out any flaws. We are also fast to point out the resulting eating disorders, and self-esteem damage done to our daughters, etc. There is plenty of outcry about "real" women not being welcome in the entertainment business and media, but then, when a celebrity isn't pretty enough, thin enough, or doesn't fit our standards of what is beautiful, we are quick to tear them down.

And that is not to say that I never say anything critical about anyone's looks myself. I just try hard not to because you really can't expect to have it both ways.

What a mean spirited thread! Why does everyone's worth have to be based on what they look like? And why do women seem to be the harshest critic of other women? Not everyone can be as beautiful or as thin as the ideal woman. I'm sure Tori Spelling's husband and children love her regardless of what animal the rest of us think she looks like.

What makes her ugly to me is the way she met her husband. I think he was married when they were seeing each other. That makes an ugly person. I will say I also don't find her attractive. Makeup and money can do wonders.

Very Good Point!

Good post. I feel bad that I said something negative about Tori's looks.

I do still think she is famous because of who her Father was.

I guess since certain topics are now off limits it's hard to find ways to stir the crockpot ?

My wife was a big fan of 90210 and liked all the cast members, and she still likes Tori Spelling (she watched her reality shows and read her book). I guess she is still famous because she is still quite active in entertainment.

As for looks: I consider her just about equal to Julia Roberts. I have heard, over the years, a lot of women gush about how beautiful Ms. Roberts is, but I have never heard men do so.

I firmly believe that if the movie was named anything other than "Pretty Woman", Ms. Roberts would not have her reputation for beauty to this day. Anytime the National Enquirer or Star mention Julia Roberts they always write "Julia Roberts of Pretty Woman", even though that movie was, what, 20 years ago?

To be fair, this thread was started back in Feb. before the new guidelines. Someone bumped it up early this morning.

Commenting on celebrity's looks is one thing. Telling the OP how ugly she is, or to look in the mirror, etc. is way low class. :sad2: You people should be ashamed.

Then that makes you no nicer than any of the rest of us who made a negative comment about Tori's looks....myself included in the phrase 'rest of us'.

Why is ok to pick on anyone's looks, celebrity or not? Seems like a HUGE double standard to me.

The way I see it, if God made them that way, then who am I to say anything? If they decided to alter their god-given appearance with plastic surgery aka; joan Rivers or Michael jackson style, well.......
Well, it's probably not nice to pick on anyone's looks, no matter who they are. But most of us have done it at one time or another, I know I have....maybe you never have, and if so, then you are a better person than I am, and my hat's off to you.

Oh, so that makes it better?? :sad2:

Doesn't make the thread or its contents better but it sure does negate your PP about pot-stirring since politics is no longer pemitted.

No one said it was ok to pick on anyone's looks. But yes, I do see a slight difference between the two. Will Tori ever be on teh DIS to read this thread? Doubtful. Will Dawn see the hurtful things said about her? ABSOUTELY and that is what makes it way worse IMO.

I probably did in high school. Actually, I'm sure I did in high school. I've grown up. If it's something a person has no control over, (and I don't mean plastic surgery control...ie: no one should feel they should HAVE to change a body part to be accepted), then I should shut my mouth. If they chose to make themselves look ridiculous, then they are fair game....but I certianly wouldn't on a public message board. Perhaps to my husband.

Tori Spelling has has a **** job. I think that's about it. Maybe her nose. I don't know. Don't particularily care. She doesn't look ridiculous. That's why tabloids make so much money, people like to look down on famous people anyway they can to make themselves feel better.
