Torchwood - Children of Earth

Okay, so while I was trying to sleep last night (I was still too amped up by watching Torchwood) a thought occured to me.

This includes Night Two (last night) spoilers, so if anyone hasn't seen last night's episode yet, don't read any further.

Okay so Jack's arm, and some of his skull regrew into the full Jack Harkness in the body bag. Very cool, and we already knew that Jack can't die. So here's my thought. What about OTHER pieces of Jack that might be lying around the wreckage of the hub?

On one hand, Jack is a "fixed moment in time" and can't die, so there will always be a Jack Harkness.

On the other hand, how would the pieces left behind not automatically do what the pieces in the body bag did?

I'm overthinking this, aren't I? :rotfl2:

Ok I did not read any responses ( so nothing would be given away) so my question is this. Can I watch this series if I have not watched the others? I wanted to and never started but I tivoed this!

I have a couple friends who have never seen Torchwood before this and they're loving it.

I think because he is a fixed moment in time it probably does not matter where his body parts are... he probably gets them all back.
And on the showing more of Captain Jack I am scarred for life. I have the BBC 1 version and it is not edited at all the like BBC America one is. You don't see everything on either but you see more in the BBC 1 version.
Also you don't need to have seen the other season's it's just helpful to have seen them. Just like it is helpful to watch Dr.Who for Torchwood. It is still a good show if you haven't seen the other two seasons.

Okay, that makes complete sense.

It's not like he regenerates those parts, it's that he reverts back to that fixed moment in time and they each revert back to him.

Pity. I was hoping it'd be an excuse to have TWO Captain Jacks!

OMG!Pity they didn't show more of Captain Jack naked. Word is that Barrowman is quite . . . um . . . impressive.

Maybe it should be renamed Touchwood !?! :lmao:

The actors actually do joke around and call it touchwood sometimes. :) you can find some of the out takes and behind the scenes on youtube highly amusing if you find the right ones.

But if he is a fixed point in time and always gets everything back. How does he become The Face of Boe? (From Dr.Who if you didn't know)

Yep. Saw that episode.

But who knows what happens in the thousands of years between Torchwood and then?

And I'm just using "fixed moment in time" to describe him, because that's how the Doctor describes him. I doesn't seem like that's the best description if Jack himself has noticed that he's aging very very slowly (the grey hair)

Well the doctor also used that he is a fixed point in time to describe him before he knew Jack had to exist in order for the Face of Boe to exist. And the Doctor gets advice from the Face of Boe.So yea it definitely isn't the best way to describe him.

I'm wondering if the blue-ray/DVD release will be unedited. Might be worth to pick it up just to "see more Jack"!

You can probably find the clips online somewhere.*cough*vuze*cough* but even if the DVD isn't unedited you could always order the UK version offline and with how much it is most shops you might not have to pay s&h at all

Plus it's possible to google Barrowman's naughty bits and get a large set of results.

From what I've read the man just loves whipping it out and showing it off.

Gasp! I would never do such a thing...while at work. I'll wait until I get home. :lmao:

SO NEVER going to google that just the scene from last night scarred me i don't want nor need to see anything more.Though ALLOT of my friends would i really need to find more friends that only like girls to many gay guys straight girls and bi people in my friend group(jk i love them all)

I stayed up until 2 AM playing the first two episodes stored on the DVR last night.

And then before I could go to bed, another channel had BILLY ELLIOT on, so I had to stay up until almost 3 AM.

I'm too tired to watch the Behind the Scenes INSIGHT episodes, but I can't wait to see the rest of the TORCHWOOD 5 day mini series.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Wow!

The plot twists just keep coming, don't they!

My favorite moment was Ianto telling Jack he'd like to have a little bit of fun. Jack says "The world may be ending" and Ianto replies "The world's always ending". That whole scene between the two of them was so sweet! Made me smile.

We're learning a LOT of new stuff about Captain Jack this week, too!

Can't wait for tomorrow!

My one friend was watching with me well over skype and when Jack told Rhys to go to the store and he didn't she was cursing
