I totally agree on the airbrushed t-shirts. I do remember that when I was Chelsea's age, I had to have one when we went to Myrtle Beach. I thought they were great. I have since learned the error of my ways!
I am so glad that you are going to see the MSEP. I really am bummed that I can't go this summer. Our anniversary is in 3 weeks and my husband is wanting the new iphone if it comes out. I really would like to take a weekend trip from just the two of us to see the parade, but right now it looks too expensive since I really want to go with the kids at Labor Day if possible.

I don't know if you have done this officially, but I think your next update should be a fierce recap of ADRs, reservations, touring plans, etc. from the original plans....just to remind us all of all the fun you are going to have!!!! oh I am so happy for you. I was so worried you mind would be wondering to the world during your beach vacation that you wouldn't be able to enjoy it to the fullest. I have often thought the same thing about the prices at HH and VB. Just not worth it if you really want DISNEY. Glad that you kept those ADRS. Have a great time. Now I have t squeeze in some time to get to my TR. We've been ut of town for two weeks and whooo I am exhausted!

How did you guess MK??? Lol. MK and Epcot. MK is my favorite park and Epcot is Will's favorite. I was a little disappointed at first but at least we get to go on vacation AND stay at AKV (rented points). So I'm thankful!!! We originally had ressies at CBR and then I "noticed" it would be the same amount of money if we rented points. So why not? Lol.

AKV is so pretty, and I do love Magic Kingdom and Epcot! You will have a wonderful trip!

Words can't really convey how excited I am for you, so I thought I'd throw in some pictures from my May 2009 trip to show you just what's in store for you at the beloved CBR.

I can't get enough of that resort, I really can't.

And I'm super excited that you're going to see the parade. Actually, it's one of the things that frustrates me most about missing this year, I remember that from my childhood as well and I'd have to say it's one of my favorites.

We are thrilled. I am thinking of all the things Chelsea can do after she goes to the beach and shops.

Even though she can't get in the water at a Disney beach, you can travel a very short distance one day, if you want, to get to one where she can play in the waves. She could have the best of both worlds - the beach and Disney World.

Or there are the water parks. Have you guys done Blizzard Beach and/or Typhoon Lagoon? She can get plenty of water fun in at those.

Heading to the beach from Disney is certainly worth considering! I would love to go back to Typhoon Lagoon -- we had so much fun there!

I can just hear the MSEP music! I have never seen it but heard the music on DIS radio. I'm excited that we're going to see it too. I'm really curious about the fireworks show. I really love Wishes, so it will be hard to top that for me!
We will all have to compare notes later this summer.

I didn't want to give them up until I was completely sure we weren't going! After all, Le Cellier is awfully hard to get.

If your heart wasn't at HH after all this time, I'd say this was the best move. And while no one else in your family seems to care as much as you where you went on vacation this year, I am willing to bet in years to come that Chelsea will be glad she celebrated her Sweet Sixteen at a place so near and dear to your family's heart!

I am sure I would have had a good time in HH, but my heart would have been somewhere else.

Hey there! I don't think I have posted over here before, but I have been reading along. I am so glad that you decided to go back to WDW!

I have a trip planned for this summer, but we aren't going until Aug. 18th, and I think MSEP will be gone then. I sure hope they have Spectro back. I was a little disappointed when I learned that we wouldn't be seeing the summer fireworks show, but then on the other hand I think I would have been heartbroken to not see Wishes!

When are you planning to surprise Chelsea?

Months ago, when I first planned a Disney World trip, I made a slew of ADRs and even planned our park days.

So, let's review shall we?

DATES: July 18 through July 23. Chelsea's birthday is July 17, so we will celebrate at home and then, early the next morning we will be on our way.

We will know we have arrived when we see this sign.

We'll be staying here for the next five nights.

Our first night we will either head to the Magic Kingdom or Disney Hollywood Studios. We have a dinner ADR at 50's Primetime if we end up at DHS. There isn't a parade scheduled that Sunday night, but I hope they add one.

Monday we will head to Epcot and a dinner ADR at Le Cellier. Cheddar Cheese Soup is calling to Charles and me.

Tuesday we will head to Animal Kingdom in the morning. We have a lunch at Yak and Yeti, and somewhere a Lost on Safari needs me to find it ! In the afternoon Chelsea and I will head to the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea OR we may all head to Beaches n' Cream for a Kitchen Sink. We might head to Downtown Disney this evening for any shopping Chelsea needs to do.

Wednesday is our Magic Kingdom day. Crystal Palace (or 1900 Park Fare) for a late breakfast, and the Main Street Electrical Parade that night.

Thursday might be an Epcot day -- dinner at Tutto Italia or if we didn't go to DHS Sunday, we can go there. Right now I have both a lunch and a dinner ressie at Primetime. I will cancel whatever we don't use.

Friday I am thinking we will spend the morning at the Magic Kingdom before heading out early afternoon. Not that I want to leave at any point in the day, but I guess we will have to.

So, that's what's been planned so far. Now onward to more planning...

I'm really shocked he was okay with no Teppan Edo. Tutto sounds very yummy, it was in the running on my ADR list for September.

He really fell in love with that cheddar cheese soup at the Food and Wine Festival. I think it is the only thing that could have lured him away from his beloved Teppan Edo.
