Top of the World question

TOTW isn't just a viewing area. It is a bar and lounge that sells food.

In general, it is rarely appropriate to BYOF to a place of such a nature.

There are no tables outside so unless it's a snack not sure bringing your own food would work.

Why not just buy and eat food from the lounge?

And mostly what they sell are snack and appetizer type foods so it's not like you'd spoil your appetite if you stop by before dinner.

As with any situation, I always try to gauge my actions by their reasonableness. For example, when DS10 was much younger, and a picky eater, we would get a sugar cookie or kids meal at Contempo and bring it up to TOWL so that the rest of us could enjoy some drinks and food while DS was content with what he had. Would I bring meals for my whole family to TOWL from Contempo, and not order any food or drinks in the lounge? No. That is not reasonable. Then of course there is the whole grey area in between...

can we grab food from contempo cafe and take it up?

only if you bring enough for everybody:duck: jk

as others suggest, if ToTW's offferings don't work for you, would eat first, then head on up...making sure to purchase a drink or two to help insure the perk.

imo nothing wrong with having snacks on hand at disney for kiddies, just as one would do at home (cheerios, juice drinks, crackers etc.)

I'd bring food from downstairs if it were a slow time of the day at TOTW or if I were bringing a kid meal for a kid. The menu there is very limited. It's not like you're bring McDonalds to a four start restaurant, you're bringing Disney food to a Disney lounge.

Does anyone have the menu for TOWL? I've been there once, but I seem to remember there were only two options. One of them was a flatbread pizza and I can't remember the other. Planning on going with DD in April. Just wondering, the lounge is not on the restaurant menu lists I've seen.

I'd say it's better to not, or if you do to eat out on the outside deck, but a unique thing with this is it's not dining from a restaurant under one ownership and bringing to a restaurant under a different ownership. They are both operated by Disney. If you did take a table up inside then an appropriate tip to the staff would be the considerate thing but it would be my recommendation to not go inside with the food.
