Except this is not priced for a family of 4 its priced for solos or couples. Hence no kids pricing. They only said you can get 4 people total so people wouldn't call them complaining about their family of 3 or 4 even though they would never go.
Wish all the lounges and restaurants were included. You could get first dibs for reservations if you are staying at that
DVC resort on points and you would also still have things like the Boardwalk lounge area and such open.
If it were owned by members it could be more reasonably priced to help drive people to want to go there.
Someone else brought it up but the math is more complicated than that. I could easily sell 200 points at Riviera for $17 in 20 years when the BWV contract expires.
The direct prices on those sold out resorts have sky rocketed in the last 3 years.
Not exactly. The original member paid Disney profit and possibly has bought multiple contracts with Disney giving them more profit.
Resale on the other hand has not paid Disney anything and the contract you bought could be 1 of 2/5/10 other contracts that owner has which means they are not actually passing off their account to you.
For Disney the perks work because the goal is to give you 1 set of perks but cash in multiple times on your direct purchases. Long term as resale members increase the benefits would not be able to be maintained for what Disney wants to spend rightly or wrongly.
Flip side they could build perks in to the cost of MFs but people with a bunch of points would be fairly upset.
