Hello,

I am planning my ADRs for our upcoming trip in January. Just thought I'd do a quick opinion poll to make sure I hit the great restuarants and miss the not so great ones. it will just be me and my husband going on what is our first visit to WDW.

Thanks so much for any information.

I would say my top 3 would be:

California Grill
O'Hana- this was just last week with thier new menu
Mama Melrose- not for any particular reason, but I just love their flat bread.

Oh, and I love the breakfast at Crystal Palace, this is my favorite thing to do on our first full day.

I don't know if I had a bottom three, although one would be Captian Jack's, and I'm pretty sure most people would agree.

I've had really good meals in Disney, but those top four are my favorite.

My three best dining experiences:

Marrakesh
Spoodles
Artist Point

Three worst experiences:

Sci-Fi Dine In Theater: BAD food. Not even redeemingly good. Mediocre service. And it was hard to share an appetizer in those darn cars!

50's Prime Time Café: Delicious food! But really slow service.

Cinderella's Royal Table: Not ONE princess stopped by our table in the hour we were there. This didn't bother me so much, but there were little kids at the tables around us crying because the princesses still had not shown up. We went back again last trip and had a much better experience.

Best were Brown Derby & California Grill. Only truly bad meal I've had at WDW was at Rainforest (but they're always bad).

Best:
1) Citricos - GF
2) Artist Point - WL
3) Jiko - AKL

Worst:
1) Lotus Flower Cafe - China
2) Nine Dragons - China
3) Rainforest Cafe - AKL

Ill make this is and do it by parks and surrounding area. I usually do early breakfast, mid-day CS spot for lunch, and hen a sit down dinner

Magic Kingdom Area
Breakfast - Crystal Palace (if you have a second daya round this area Chef Mickeys is fun)
Lunch - Casey's Corner or Columbia Harbour House
Dinner - O'Hana or California Grill or Tony's Town Square "all three are great, and i would recommend them"

Avoid - Concourse Steakhouse just horriable food and service

Epcot Area
Breakfast - Cape May Café - Character Dining
Lunch - WOW so many options choose what suits or fancy @ world showcase
Dinner - Le Cellier

MGM Area
Breakfast - we usually sleep in this day and head strait to the park for an early lunch, but if you want to grab something quick try Starring Rolls Cafe
Lunch - The Hollywood Brown Derby
Dinner - Hollywood & Vine

Avoid ABC Commisionaiy

well good luck with your ADR's and have a fun trip

Top three:
Jiko
California Grill
Artist Point

Worst three:
ABC Commissary
Citricos
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater (Loved the atmosphere though!)

Best meals:

1.) Le Cellier
2.) Boma's
3.) Crystal Palace

Worst meals:

1.) Donalds Prehistoric B-FAST-2005 trip/disappointed with food and the time spent with charachters, used to be great, has gone down hill
2.) Trails End Buffett/Hollywood and Vine
3.) Nine Dragons

First off, I will say that these are the only table service restaraunts we have ate at, so i'm basically just giving my opinion on what I can :cool1:

Best-
CRT for breakfast- wonderful character interaction, the Princess' did not rush around, sat and chatted with dd for awhile, food was great!
Biergarten- great entertainment, different, but yummy foods
Sci-Fi- great service, great food, and the kids just loved sitting in the cars watching the movie clips
For counter service- Caseys..YUMMM!

Worst-
Chef Mickeys- I will first say, we did NOT expect gourmet, after all, it is just a buffet like any other. The food was lukewarm at best, somewhat bland. But the characters were great!
San Angel Inn- too dark, crowded, un-attentive wait staff, the food was hardly edible.

 Three best: California Grill
Flying Fish
Citricos

:earseek: Three Worst: Brown Derby
Le Cellier
Bongos Cuban Cafe

Best (no particular order):

Le Cellier
Chefs de France
O'Hana

Worst:

Boma - nothing but euwww on the menu.
Rainforest Cafe - stunningly bad and overpriced. Won't eat in any of them now.
Chef Mickey's - an average meal (at best), crowded and noisy (to be expected I suppose). If you go, go for the characters and not the food.

Our picks

Top 3

Kona Cafe

Le Cellier

1900 Park Fair-character dinner or 50's Prime Time

Worst 1 (because I cant think of 3)LOL

Wolfgang Puck Express-blech.....I gag thinking about it

We ate breakfast and lunch at ABC commissary and we thought it was good. Not outstanding but good.

Best: (very easy)
1) Boma
2) 'Ohana
3) Bistro

Worst: (not so easy)
1) Sci-Fi Dine in
2) Tony's (had a very good meal there on a prior occasion)
3) Chef Mickey's

Top Three Table Service:

Narcoosees
Artist Point
(Ok 4, I lied)

Wolfgang Puck Cafe (except for sushi, which is good)

Top Three Counter Service
Tusker House
Seasons
Columbia Harbor House

Worst Three Counter Service
ABC Commisary
Pizza Planet
Lotus Blossom Cafe

We are debating whether to go there or not. I always see that people like it, is there anything negative about it??

Our best: It's tough to pick only 3, since we've had many great meals at WDW, but I'll try. I'm only going to list table service, although I could do a similar list for counter service:

Kona Cafe: We've had lunch there twice, and the food was absolutely delicious both times.

Chefs de France: DH and I had a great meal there a couple of years ago. The food, service, and setting were all wonderful.

Sci Fi: We eat there every trip, and we've never been disappointed. We just get basic burgers and shakes, and those are really good. But it's the theming that keeps bringing us back.

Our worst: None of these were really bad, they are just not places we wish to try again:

'Ohana: I know this is on many people's favorites list, but we just didn't enjoy our meal there. I knew I would have some problems finding food I liked since I'm a vegetarian, but I figured my DH and meat-loving DS's would be very happy there. But they really didn't care for the food at all. Add to that an inattentive staff and a loud, chaotic dining area.

Planet Hollywood: The food here was actually pretty good, but the restaurant was so noisy we couldn't talk to each other or to our server. I know that the noise level is part of the theming for this restaurant, but it made for a very unenjoyable meal for us. We won't be going back.

Tony's: I really wanted to like this restaurant because it is nicely themed and I love Lady and the Tramp. But after two visits with mediocre, over-priced food, we crossed Tony's off our list.

Some of my choices directly contradict some above posts, so I guess it really depends when you go, who your server is, etc.
Top 3:
1. San Angel Inn - Fantastic flavor! Great warm chips/salsa. Chocolate mousse is to die for.
2. Sci-Fi Dine In - Awesome food and service. Was so glad to have ate here, even after reading unfavorable reviews. Go figure!
3. Flame Tree BBQ - Very tasty and reasonably priced.

Underwhelming:
1. Cantina de San Angel - Not terrible, though a bit bland. But, you can get a churro.
2. '50s Prime Time - Fun atmosphere. Food was not bad, but not worth the prices.

Worst -1) Beaches and Cream - really bad
2)Ohanas
3)Mama Melrose

Best - 1)Akershus
2)1900 Park Fair
3)Whispering Canyon

we ate breakfast there and thought it was nothing extraordinary, maybe the other meals are better..the coffee however is good, even the regular is better than Boma's press pot imo( wished i had ordered Kona's press pot as the regular was really good)

bottom 3( food bad,as in almost couldn't eat it, burnt ect or just plain disgusting for something i normally like)

sci fi
yakitori house
china take out

top 3( good food, enjoyed the service and atmosphere)

Brown derby
lecellier
Trail's end ( maybe it's cause we go early but we have never had a bad meal in 20 yrs here. not a real
"buffet type" of person but like this one fine and think it is one of the best values on property)

honorable mention
wcc good food ( some very good some just fine), good fun which makes up for the less than 5 * food, reasonable for disney prices on plated items and breakfast

dishonorable mention
Ohana terrible service, inflated price and some food borderline inedible unless you enjoy shoe leather ( some food ie wings, salad, old shrimp,is pretty good so not one of the top 3 worst)

Top Three (OK, four):
Boma -- Yum a dum dum! Excellent variety, pleasant ambience, many unique dishes, and a dessert select to die for!

Garden View Lounge Afternoon Tea -- A "civilized" break from the fray of the parks. Elegant, but not stuffy. Delicious tea, scones and cheeses, and excellent service!!

Biergarten -- Delicious and plentiful food and fun atmosphere. Oompah band definitely lends to the charm.

Hollywood & Vine -- Booked mainly for Fantasmic, but turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. True it's a little noisy, but food was quite good. Awesome tortellini salad!

Bottom Three:
'Ohana -- first time was really good, but the last two visits ruined us for good. Tough, overcooked meats, nearly burned shrimp, and inattentive service. Crowded and noisy waiting area with waits well beyond PS time. Felt more rushed here than any other restaurant we've visited.

Akershus dinner (original menu). We're not picky eaters, and tend to be adventurous (love sushi), but still joke that all they eat in Norway is cold fish and stinky cheese.

Cape May Cafe -- Uninspired, average quality seafood and a too-brightly lit cafeteria atmosphere inconsistent with the Yacht & Beach Club's image; not worth the price.
